Jewish 'ultras' defend morals with menace Post Date: 2008-09-20 22:59:04 by bush_is_a_moonie

Four months ago in the middle of the night, six men dressed in wide-brimmed black hats, black coats, white shirts and black trousers burst into the Jerusalem apartment of a young Jewish woman and taught her a lesson. Mikhail, who is reluctant to give her full name, had scandalised members of her ultra-orthodox Jewish community by leaving her husband and embracing a secular lifestyle. The men, all members of the theologically conservative Haredi branch of Judaism, tackled her to the ground, slammed her head against the floor and tied a rag around her mouth. One assailant sat on her head as the others kicked her while demanding to know the names of the men she was seeing. They also ...

I wonder.... so many are mad about what I have to say about the trinity. So I am asking the 4um to help me change. Below is a message sent to me (by whom it does not matter). I established the guide lines in my message. Please note them. Most everyone who is willing to talk about this ignores Scripture in favor of tradition and selected messages from Scripture. Everything has to be brought in; that is the most important part that I have learned from the Jehovah's Witnesses; the Bible is its own Witness. So let me throw out a couple of other things before we start; Phil. 2:9-11; For this very reason also God exalted him (Jesus Christ) to a superior position and kindly gave him ...
Tobacco and the Soul Post Date: 2008-09-18 13:09:31 by X-15

The current brouhaha over smoking has made everyone painfully aware of tobaccos effects on the body, but it has also obscured a more profound reason for smokings popularity: its relation to the soul. As the heyday of smoking passes into the ashheap of history, it is meet that we reflect on this connection. The soul, of course, is a complex thing. Long ago Plato suggested that we consider it as divided into three parts-the appetitive, spirited, and rational-that correspond to the three basic kinds of human desires: the desire to satisfy physical appetites, the desire for recognition, and the desire for truth. Once this tripartite division is recalled, tobaccos relation to ...

Pakistan Invades America -- "Without Permission" Post Date: 2008-09-17 21:47:00 by richard9151

17/09/08 "MRZine" -- -- The U.S. State Department lodged a sharp protest over ongoing Pakistani missile strikes and ground raids today, saying the Islamic Republic was violating American sovereignty. "We will try to convince Pakistan . . . to respect [the] sovereignty of the United States -- and God willing, we will convince," State Department Spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters.1 The controversy stems from the Pakistan Army's recent decision, leaked in a prominent Pakistani newspaper, to mount intensifying air attacks and new ground assaults against extremists hiding in American safe havens across the ocean. American papers reported that under the new policy, ...

Incredible [O Really] IT SEEMS INCREDITABLE, AT FIRST THOUGHT, that an act can be both right and wrong. But when we see the sinfulness [wrongfulness] un-righteousness of the act, not in the deed itself, but its relation to those whom it affects, it is not difficult to see how any given action may be both good and bad. We can place almost any conceivable deed into two opposite environments and transform it from a crime into that which is commendable, and vise versa. Circumstances provide the moral clothing of human activities. The eating of fruit is often urged as an aid to health. And such is usually is. Yet this was that which introduced disease into the world! No ...

Who controls the banking and finance of the World? I ask your indulgence for just a moment. At times, I forget that not everyone collects and absorbs information the way I do. That means that at times I am impatient with people who have not the background to make the connections that seem so obvious to me. Sorry about that. So please permit me to show you who is who. In ‘Religulous,’ Bill Maher skewers faith Post Date: 2008-09-14 17:00:32 by Destro

Sunday, Sep 14, 2008 In Religulous, Bill Maher skewers faith By ROBERT W. BUTLER The Kansas City Star Bill Maher is not a fan of religion. Except, of course, as a rich source of laughs. For a comedian theres no broader target than religion, Maher explained in a recent telephone conversation. When youve got people who believe in talking snakes, raining frogs and a man living in a whale, youve hit the comedy jackpot. Mahers audience is familiar with his arguments against faith, a recurring topic in his comedy. But in his new feature film Religulous (opening Oct. 3) Maher hits the road to discuss religion with a U.S. ...
The Calvinist Connection Post Date: 2008-09-14 13:00:31 by Ada

Many modern libertarians assume that religion and liberty are necessarily in opposition. Many modern people in general assume that religion and revolution are opposed. At times, of course, they are, but the history of the American Revolution indicates that more care is required in making this kind of judgment. In the American colonies, the hotbed of revolution was New England, where the people were mainly Congregationalistsdescendants of the Calvinist English Puritans. The Presbyterians, a Calvinist sect which originated in Scotland, were spread all of the colonies, and the network of Presbyterian ministers provided links among them. The Congregationalist and Presbyterian ministers ...

Of all items listed, only three have been discontinued. (highlighted in Yellow) All are listed, however, to show the absurdity of Watchtower rules and the absolute control leadership has over the lives of members once they join. 1. God is not a Trinity; the doctrine is inspired by the Devil 2. Jesus is not to be worshiped or prayed to-he is only an angel (a.k.a. Michael the archangel) 3. Jesus Christ is a "created being," who at one time did not exist 4. The Holy Spirit is not a person but is "God's active force" i.e. gravity, electricity etc. 5. LOL! At last, some good news!! Fri Sep 12, 10:38 AM ET RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Saudi Arabia's top judiciary official has issued a religious decree saying it is permissible to kill the owners of satellite TV networks that broadcast immoral content. The 79-year-old Sheik Saleh al-Lihedan said Thursday that satellite channels cause the "deviance of thousands of people." Many of the most popular Arab satellite networks which include channels showing music videos often denounced as obscene by Muslim conservatives are owned by Saudi princes and well-connected Saudi businessmen. Al-Lihedan did not specify any particular channels. Al-Lihedan is chief of the ...

The Old Cowboy Post Date: 2008-09-11 20:31:47 by X-15

One Sunday morning, an old cowboy entered a church just before services were to begin. Although the old man and his clothes were spotlessly clean, he wore jeans, a denim shirt, and boots that were very worn and ragged. In his hand he carried a worn out old hat and an equally well-worn, dog-eared Bible. The church he entered was in a very upscale and exclusive part of the city. It was the largest and most beautiful church the old cowboy had ever seen. The people of the congregation were all dressed with expensive clothes and fine jewelry. As the cowboy took a seat, the others moved away from him. No one greeted, spoke to, or welcomed him. They were all appalled by his appearance and did ...

The Trinity a Bible teaching, or, a false teaching? Before we start, I wish to point out a couple of important things. First off, this is not being written in an attempt to convert anyone. That is not possible. Only you can make such a decision. I am not capable of making such a decision for you, nor, do I wish to be responsible for such a decision. This paper is being written in the desire to give to you, each and everyone, a reason to begin to study the Bible. The Truth, and Jehovah, awaits all men, but it is available only to those who will make the effort to discover it, and Him. John 17:3; This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and ...

I wonder
Jeremiah 10:23; I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step. I wonder how many people in the 4um believe in God? Or, should I write that the way some of you do; G-d? Or, just say, Lord or whatever other term comes to mind? Just so you do not have to openly acknowledge Him, I suspect. But I do wonder, because I am going to tell you a little story in just a moment. But first, lets check. How many of you believe that God actually exists? Ummmm, quite a few hands, which only makes sense. The national average, as I recall, of people who say they actually believe that God exists is ...
Horrifying coincidence in [Canadian bus] beheading (Canadian Windigo Possession Folklore) Post Date: 2008-09-09 22:05:02 by Destro

Mon, August 11, 2008 Horrifying coincidence in beheading By ANDREW HANON Nathan Carlson has barely slept since July 30. "Ever since it happened, I haven't been able to get it out of my head," Carlson says haltingly. "I just don't know what to think of it, quite frankly." The Edmonton ethno-historian is one of the world's leading experts on Windigo phenomenon, and the recent horrific beheading and alleged cannibalism on a Greyhound bus bound for Winnipeg from Edmonton rocked him to his very core. As the grisly details of Tim McLean's last moments on Earth came to light in the following days, Carlson sank deeper and deeper into a fog of horror and ...

There may be some of you who are interested in facts instead of hearsay. If so, the following may interest you. Please note this; most of you are opposed to organized religion. So are Jehovah's Witnesses, and, I might add, so is the Bible. If you have questions about anything in here, please ask. Most of what follows is fairly accurate as far as I know at this time. Jehovahs Witnesses en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jehovahs_witnesses Jehovah's Witnesses are members of a restorationist,[1]millenialist[2] Christian denomination of the same name. The religion emerged from the Bible Student Movement, founded in the late 19th century by Charles Taze Russell. On July 26, 1931, the name ...

The Seed When reading the Bible, it is often difficult to understand what is being said. There is a reason for this; it takes time and effort to learn enough of the Bible to begin to understand what is intended. That is not an accident, as this Scripture will illustrate. Luke 8:4-16; Now when a great crowd had collected together with those that went to him from city after city, he spoke by means of an illustration; 5 A sower went out to sow his seed. Well, as he was sowing, some of it fell alongside the road and was trampled down, and the birds of heaven ate it up. 6 Some other landed upon the rock-mass, and after sprouting, it dried up because of not having moisture. 7 Some other ...

What is the Bible? And with that, perhaps we should look at what it means to be meek. Psalms 37:11; But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. The meek ones themselves will possess the earth
umm, guess we better set the basis for that; Genesis 1:26-28; And God went on to say: Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth. 27 And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in ...

I need to have someone here who has extensive knowledge of the Bible answer 4 questions for me please, their answers are very important for something I am working on. 1. Being relatively unfamiliar with religious material, I had always assumed that the State of of Israel was supposed to be, by "fate" or whatever, re-established in the "end times" at the hand of man, not God. Is this true, and where in particular are the Biblical passages explaining and supporting this idea? 2. If, for the existence of Israel to be spiritually "valid" in a cosmic sense, it must be re-established by God and not man(the "New Jerusalem"), does that not mean that the ...
Muslims Object to Christian Prayer Meeting in Oxford Church Post Date: 2008-09-02 22:14:15 by X-15

In yet another sign of the increasing Islamification of Britain, a Muslim pressure group in Oxford has demanded and received an apology from a Christian prayer group which organised a Call to Prayer meeting in St. Aldates Church (illustration) in that city centre. The Muslim Education Centre of Oxford (Meco) accused Witney-based Christian Open Doors UK of preaching evangelical propaganda, despite that organisation holding an indoor meeting in a Christian Church, and not forcing anyone to attend. Pathetically, Open Doors UK immediately apologised and insisted the prayer meeting had been taken out of context, although it ...
