Vatican explains Tridentine Mass revival LISA PALMIERI-BILLIG, Jerusalem Post correspondent, THE JERUSALEM POST Jul. 1, 2007 The text of a "Motu Proprio" (papal decision) regarding the revival of a controversial Latin mass will be made public this week, The Jerusalem Post has learned. Vatican officials stressed that the current text, which formerly called Jews "perfidious," contains no derogatory reference to Jews. The text is based on the Tridentine Mass promulgated by the Council of Trent in the 16th century. Originally this mass contained a Good Friday prayer for the conversion of "the perfidious Jews." But in the 1960s, after his historic meeting with ...

Abraham Lincoln, American president 1861-1865. "I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modelled after our own a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbour such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism." Pope to authorize Latin mass in coming days Thu Jun 28, 2007 2:50PM EDT By Stephen Brown VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Benedict will tell Roman Catholic priests in coming days that they can say mass in Latin as a concession to traditionalists. However, the move has raised concern about reviving parts of the old liturgy that Jews consider anti-Semitic. The Latin liturgy was sidelined by the Second Vatican Council in the 1960s in favor of local languages in an attempt to make worship more accessible to the bulk of churchgoers. After months of speculation that the old rite, known as the Tridentine mass, could return, the Vatican said on Thursday the Pope had met senior clerics a day ...

CHICAGO (AFP) - Doctors could soon be storing essential medical information under the skin of their patients, the American Medical Association says. ADVERTISEMENT Devices the size of a grain of rice that are implanted with a needle could give emergency room doctors quick access to the records of chronically ill patients, the nation's largest doctors group said in a report. The association adopted a policy Monday stating that the devices can improve the "safety and efficiency of patient care" by helping to identify patients and enabling secure access to clinical information. These radio frequency identification tags (RFIDs) are already used by Wal-Mart and other businesses ...
CARDINAL (BERNARD) LAW ADVISER TO POPE Post Date: 2007-06-25 21:11:40 by Zipporah

June 21, 2007 -- I now reprise an old news story. There's a point. So, read on and pay attention. Five years ago a widening scandal - 450 claims of priests accused of sexually abusing children - caused Boston Catholics to nearly drop their prayer books. Allegations were the reigning cardinal took no action to stop the abuse. Massachusetts' attorney general claimed the archdiocese engaged in "an elaborate scheme" to stifle the issue. Of this reigning cardinal, CNN reported Dec. 13, 2002, that one victim said: "I'm speechless. He's hurt a lot of people. He's deceived a lot of people." Despite repeat stories of sexual misconduct by clergy to youngsters ...

The Cultural Illiteracy of the Easy Atheists By Mary Grabar : BIO| 21 Jun 2007 Best-selling atheist authors are capitalizing on a wave of ignorance and stupidity. The latest offering, God Is Not Great, comes from a bon vivant with a British accent. To be sure, Christian fundamentalists and literalists have given Christopher Hitchens much to work with. For example, Memorial Day saw the opening of the Creation Museum in Kentucky, where Genesis comes alive with Adam and Eve alongside animatronic dinosaurs 6,000 years ago. More of God's country in Tennessee is slated for despoliation with a theme park to be called Bible Park USA. While the theme park and museum builders have sincere ...

Blair tells Pope: Now I'm ready to become a Catholic John Hooper in Vatican CitySunday June 24, 2007The Observer Tony Blair yesterday used his last official foreign engagement before leaving office to tell Pope Benedict he wanted to become a Roman Catholic, a Vatican source said last night. But, in talks lasting more than half an hour, the outgoing Prime Minister was left in no doubt that the Pope took a dim view of his record in office. A statement issued afterwards by the Vatican said there had been a 'frank exchange of views'. This is highly unusual language for the Vatican, which habitually describes meetings between the pontiff and other heads of state and ...

Teen Girl Banned From School for Chastity Ring Heads to Court Saturday , June 23, 2007 A teenage girl who was banned by her school from wearing a "purity ring" is taking her case to the High Court. Lydia Playfoot, 16, is a member of a Christian group called the Silver Ring Thing and one of a number of students at the Millais School in Horsham, West Sussex, who wears a silver ring engraved with a Biblical reference "1 Thes 434," a reference to St. Paul's Letter to the Thessalonians as a sign of their belief in abstinence from sex until marriage. She claims that her secondary school is breaching her human rights by preventing her from wearing the ...

Hitchens Book Debunking The Deity Is Surprise Hit By JEFFREY A. TRACHTENBERGJune 22, 2007; Page B1 Summer beach-reading season is just beginning, and already several books have broken out from the pack, such as Walter Isaacson's biography of Albert Einstein, and Conn and Hal Iggulden's "The Dangerous Book for Boys."But the biggest surprise is a blazing attack on God and religion that is flying off bookshelves, even in the Bible Belt. "God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything," by Christopher Hitchens, wasn't expected to be a blockbuster. Its publisher, Twelve, a fledgling imprint owned by France's Lagardère SCA, initially printed a ...

On April 1 Palm Sunday after bullets were fired into the Church of the Holy Spirit in Mosul, Iraq, during mass, the pastor, Father Ragheed Ganni, a Chaldean Catholic, e-mailed friends at the Asia Times: "We empathize with Christ, who entered Jerusalem in full knowledge that the consequence of His love for mankind was the cross. Thus, while bullets smashed our church windows, we offered our suffering as a sign of love for Christ." The attacks continued. Father Ragheed wrote again: "Each day we wait for the decisive attack, but we will not stop celebrating mass; we will do it underground, where we are safer. I am encouraged in this decision by the strength of my ...
Malachi Martin's Double Agent Status Documented Post Date: 2007-06-21 12:01:43 by Eoghan

http://Angelqueen.org has obtained numerous incriminating documents proving not only that Malachi Martin was indeed the infamous Vatican II double agent, but also that his duplicitous activities during the Council ran far deeper than had been previously thought. Background During the Second Vatican Council, Martin acted as an assistant and translator to Cardinal Augustin Bea, head of the Secretariat for the Promotion of Christian Unity (SPCU). At the time, a major focus of the SPCU was the Jewish declaration portion of Nostra Aetate, the Vatican II document that addressed the Churchs relations with other religions. Cardinal Bea would later be referred to by Archbishop ...

Every couple of days it seems somebody falls apart due to insensitivity. The problem has been buzzing around in our headlines for years. We all remember back in January 1999 when a group of Professionally Aggrieved Grievance Professionals came unglued after David Howard, a white aide to Anthony Williams, the black mayor of Washington, D.C., used the word niggardly in reference to a budget. It mattered not one iota that the word has absolutely no etymological relationship with nigger. (Its of Scandinavian origin and means miserly or stingy.) Letters were written; protests were mounted. Howard himself bowed and scraped in ...

By Claudia Parsons NEW YORK (Reuters) - Violent Muslim, Christian and Jewish extremists invoke the same rhetoric of "good" and "evil" and the best way to fight them is to tackle the problems that drive people to extremism, according to a report obtained by Reuters. It said extremists from each of the three faiths often have tangible grievances -- social, economic or political -- but they invoke religion to recruit followers and to justify breaking the law, including killing civilians and members of their own faith. The report was commissioned by security think tank EastWest Institute ahead of a conference on Thursday in New York titled "Towards a Common Response: ...

There really is no other entity other than the United States which is capable of fulfilling Babylon of Revelation 17 and 18, particularly 18. For some time, a man was telling me that he suspected that it had to be the US. But I was unwilling to accept his reasons. My being convinced that the United States will fulfill the role of Babylon came in a split second during a conversation with this man. I was reading the passages under discussion over the phone with him and read over the words, "afar off." AFAR OFF -- the merchants are standing AFAR OFF -- this means that Babylon CANNOT be a world system but an isolated geographic region. It is a character, not an all encompassing ...

Hitchens Is Not Great: An Atheist's Defense of Religion By Karl Reitz : BIO| 08 Jun 2007 Religion has been under more fire than usual lately. Daniel Dennett wrote "Breaking the Spell: Religion as a Natural Phenomenon", Sam Harris wrote "The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason", Richard Dawkins wrote "The God Delusion", and Christopher Hitchens wrote "God is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything", to name just a few attacks. Most reviews of these books and interviews with the authors have raised the not-so-hot record of atheistic societies. The authors, of course, promptly dismiss these concerns. As The Economist review ...

Jesus of Nazareth - Dissident Teacher
Jesus was not a good little boy. By all accounts, the mystic drifter was critical of the government, critical of organized religion, and critical of apathetic souls who complacently sustained the status quo.
Forever the malcontent freethinker, Jesus habitually ignored taboos, unceasingly empowered disrespected riffraff, and wandered from town to town with a hippy gang of penniless communal punks, bringing disorder and chaos wherever he dusted his sandals.
And two thousand years later? The man’s real identity has all but disappeared.

How can this country survive much longer, when the younger generation is so appallingly ignorant? Only half of them can name the first book of the Bible, or any of the four Gospels. Worse yet, in a way, Im not sure they can even read the New York Post! They all know who the current American Idol is, but a shocking number are unable to identify Amy Fisher and Joey Buttafuoco. No use trying to converse intelligently with such people about Antony and Cleopatra. I have my own problem with the Post. My eyes are so weak now that without my reading glasses I cant tell whether it still supports Israel. Ill have to start getting the Braille edition, I guess. Todays ...

The Gospel of Judas: Jesus did not die for your sins (http://www.suntimes.com/news/otherviews/421388,CST-CONT-judas10.article) June 10, 2007 BY ELAINE PAGELS The first time I heard of the Gospel of Judas was about five years ago, when I got a call from someone who said, 'I have a book for you to edit -- the Gospel of Judas.' That astonished me, since I knew that the "church father" Irenaeus had mentioned such a gospel nearly 2,000 years ago, denouncing it as terrible blasphemy. But no one had ever seen it, or known whether it actually existed. But this dealer in Cleveland was telling me he had it there. Was he telling the truth? I called the Met, the Getty and the Frist ...
