Larry Lewis put the Idaho's Free Excercise of Religioun Protected (FERP) law before the Department of Transportation when they told him that he could not longer have a driver's license unless he agreed to identify himself with a Social Security Number (SSN). Larry has come to the conclusion that participation in Social Security violates five of the Ten Commandments and is the number related to the Mark of the Beast. As he understands it, identifying himself with the SSN will earn him eternal damnation. ...

I subscribe to Bible Archaeology Review magazine and weekly receive updates with additional information or other information. The weekly email update has a pic of what appear to be small ribbons or pieces of cords in the column they always print, called WHAT IS IT. In this column, they show a picture of something from antiquity and provide a list of possibilities, and the answer. This week, as noted, the antiquity appears to be small pieces of ribbon or cords. As usual, I incorrectly guessed, but found the answer interesting. Anyways, at the end of the little blurb about what the antiquity actually is, there is a notation that the Dead Sea Scrolls are on exhibit at Discovery Place in ...

Coral Snake's Bites of the - Week Version 3 (Way Back Machine) This week's Bites will reflect some of my studies on the RCC and the Jesuit order and go back 500 years rather than being based on current news. Therefore I call this version the Way Back Machine. As always please remember the Key Bite One -----------> Rodrego Borgia (Pope Alexander VI) Pope Alexander VI also known as under his REAL name Rodrego Borgia comes to the bites from history as a serial poisoner who often blamed his bastard daughter Lucrezia for his OWN crimes. It is this Pope that has to be regarded as the tre father of using poisons like Aspartame for the purposes of getting rid of the inconvenient. ...

Russian Patriarch Alexy II, photo by Rossiiskaya Gazeta Russian Orthodox Patriarch Alexei II condemned what he scornfully described as the so-called Gospel of Judas, made public earlier this month, the Ekho Moskvy radio station reported. The controversial manuscript presents a different picture of the relationship between Jesus and his disciple Judas Iscariot, portraying the former as a friend, who acted on the orders of Jesus himself by betraying him. The top clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church maintained Monday that such writings pursued the goal of proving equivalence between good and evil. We must not be confused by that, because we trust in divine revelation ...

The Reactionary Utopian Jesus Government April 4, 2006 Not again! Another top Republican denies any wrongdoing, but resigns his post. As the great American philosopher Jimmy Hatlo used to say, theyll do it every time. Why does corruption in government always surprise us? Why do we expect anything else from it? Government is organized force. It takes our wealth and makes war. And we think honest men would do that work? Well, honest men have sincerely tried, but look at the results and ask yourself whether honesty has any inherent tendency to prevail in politics. War, taxation, waste, debt, inflation, hatred, hypocrisy, cynicism, social disorder. And also ...

Previously unseen photographs reveal how religious zealots obsessed with idolatory have colluded with developers to destroy Islam's diverse heritage. By Daniel Howden Published: 19 April 2006 There is a growing shadow being cast over Islam's holiest site. Only a few metres from the walls of the Grand Mosque in Mecca skyscrapers are reaching further into the sky, slowly blocking out the light. These enormous and garish newcomers now dwarf the elegant black granite of the Kaaba, the focal point of the four million Muslims' annual Haj pilgrimage. The tower blocks are the ...

State board recommends textbooks include secular dating abbreviations Posted: April 18, 2006 1:00 a.m. Eastern The Kentucky State Board of Education has recommended textbooks in the state include the secular dating abbreviations of B.C.E. and C.E. alongside the traditional Christian-based B.C. and A.D. B.C.E., or Before Common Era, and C.E., for Common Era, have become popular among academics and some historians, largely because B.C., or Before Christ, and A.D., Anno Domini, in the year of our Lord, are based on Christianity. According to a report in the Lexington Herald-Leader, one member of the Kentucky panel, David Webb, attempted to pass an amendment that would prevent the ...

April, 13, 2006 A number of people wrote in response to David Carmichael being disallowed to open a bank account in which to deposit his judgment award from his Navy lawsuit. Comments ranged from suggesting a bank that has opened accounts without an SSN, simply cashing it instead of opening an account or suing the Treasury that issued the check. David gives more a more detailed explanation for his actions below. ------- I received a letter in the mail advertising "everybody gets free checking". It had a facsimile signature from the bank president. I prepared a "let's sue the bank" 3-ring binder with the bank advertisement, the federal court rulings in our case, the ...

On Jan. 28, 1995, a beaming Rev. Jerry Falwell told his Old Time Gospel Hour congregation news that seemed heaven sent. The televangelist hailed two Virginia businessmen as financial saviors of debt-ridden Liberty University, the fundamentalist Christian school that Falwell had made the crown jewel of his Religious Right empire. "They had to borrow money, hock their houses, hock everything," enthused Falwell. "Thank God for friends like Dan Reber and Jimmy Thomas." Falwell's congregation rose as one to applaud. The star of the moment was Daniel Reber, who was standing behind Falwell. Thomas was not present. Reber and Thomas earned Falwell's public gratitude by ...

Rev. Moon's Conjugal Visitations By John Gorenfeld, AlterNetPosted on April 17, 2006, Printed on April 17, 2006 Among the trendier gripes about why liberals lack power in American politics is that there isn't enough tolerance for America's faithful. A big problem, Rabbi Michael Lerner recently sighed, is that "the Left's hostility to religion and spirituality has become such a major stumbling block to the chances that progressive forces will ever win enough power" to make a difference. So the new advice, from Hillary Clinton to the New Republic's Gregg Easterbrook, is: Stop making snickering remarks at Jerry Falwell's expense. Cheer the innovation of $2 billion in federal tax ...

Prosperity Doctrine, Jesus Christ, and The Rich Part 1, What Saith Jesus Christ
By Kato Mivule February 3, 2006 Poverty is rampant in Uganda and other parts of Africa and the Prosperity Doctrine is a "Hot Seller" as one local newspaper put it. So, a mere mentioning that the Prosperity Doctrine is false gets many very aggravated here in Africa. I understand the African sentiment that comes from a legitimate reality of vicious poverty. However, we shall not allow such environment of poverty to take us away from scripture. We must choose to follow what the Bible Says and teaches not what Men of Greed have concocted.. So, did Jesus Christ promise us Riches, wealth and ...

Message to Christian America by Mr Chuckles, Unknown News April 11, 2006 A friend told me last night that there are 60 million Evangelicals in America who believe in the Rapture, which is why they support Israel's dominion over the Palestinians. Perhaps "Evangelical" means something other than being Christian. I do not think Christ would support treating anyone the way the Palestinians are being treated, certainly not the Palestinian children. Slow motion, generational genocide is not Christ-like. I don't believe there are 60 million Christians in America. My friend must be mistaken. I don't know that there are even sixty real Christians in this country. I may have met a ...

Can you keep a secret? If you can, youre pretty unusual, because a lot of people cant. Especially if its the kind of secret thatif exposedcould get them in major trouble. One recent, and very public, example of this is the Duke Cunningham bribery scandalwhich you probably heard about on the newswhich helps to prove my point. Last year, when he was caught taking bribes, it didnt take long for former Congressman Cunningham to spill the beans. He turned states evidence against his co-conspirators, and Time magazine reports that the congressman may have worn a wire to record secret conversations. It doesnt take much to make us talk, ...

Many codes intended to protect gays from harassment are illegal, conservatives argue. April 10, 2006 ATLANTA Ruth Malhotra went to court last month for the right to be intolerant. Malhotra says her Christian faith compels her to speak out against homosexuality. But the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she's a senior, bans speech that puts down others because of their sexual orientation. Malhotra sees that as an unacceptable infringement on her right to religious expression. So she's demanding that Georgia Tech revoke its tolerance policy. With her lawsuit, the 22-year-old student joins a growing campaign to force public schools, state colleges and private workplaces to ...

Tuesday, April 11, 2006; A21 Back when Hugh Shelton was chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he sent all 17 of his four-star generals "Dereliction of Duty" by H.R. McMaster and asked them to a Pentagon breakfast to discuss the book with the author. The book charges that the U.S. military was derelict in its duty by meekly allowing duplicitous and inept civilians from the president on down to lead the nation into a war (Vietnam) that it then fought unsuccessfully. Shelton vowed that this would not happen again. We all know the cliche about generals fighting the last war, but in Iraq it is not the tactics that were duplicated -- certainly not compared to the Persian Gulf War -- ...
Are Mainstream Churches Finally Standing Up to GOP's Hateful Christian Blitzkrieg? Post Date: 2006-04-10 09:21:06 by Zoroaster

Published on Sunday, April 9, 2006 by the Columbus Free Press (Ohio) Are Mainstream Churches Finally Standing Up to the GOPs Hateful Christian Blitzkrieg? by Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman Right-wing church movements have been a staple of American politics since well before the 1692 witch trials at Salem. But only in the past few decades has the extremist church served as the grassroots base for a new breed of corporate totalitarianism. That unholy union has been nowhere more powerful than here in Ohio, and it has finally provoked a response from the states mainstream churches. With huge torrents of cash from Richard Mellon Scaife, the Ahmanson family and ...

April 09, 2006 Jesus 'Denied He Was Son of God' Maurice Chittenden A HOLY war between writers is switching from the High Court to the bookshelves. One of the authors who last week failed to win a plagiarism case against Dan Browns The Da Vinci Code has written a new book just in time for Easter to question the very tenets of the Christian faith. Michael Baigents The Jesus Papers tries to strip Jesus of his divinity by claiming that he wrote letters to a Jewish court denying that he was the son of God. The book was published in the United States last week on the same day as the first American paperback version of Browns novel. The two immediately went head-to-head at ...

Vatican Influence On The U.S. Presidency Saturday, April 8th, 2006 Many Americans are victims of the illusion, carefully crafted, that the Catholic bishops have no significant influence on American presidents. No doubt the degree of influence differs from one president to the next. But they all feel and respond to this influence. The National Catholic Reporter, a major national Catholic weekly newspaper, published a most revealing report in its December 29, 1989 issue. Doug Wead, special assistant to President Bush, was interviewed and quoted as saying: He [President Bush] has been more sensitive and more accessible to the needs of the Catholic Church than any president I know of ...

Scholar Also Argues Historical Evidence Shows Jesus Had A Human Father By MARTIN BASHIR April 7, 2006 Israel remains a land of holiness and of controversy and not just in political terms. In his new book "The Jesus Dynasty," James Tabor is the latest addition to this hotly contested catalog. Tabor, a historian with the Religious Studies Department at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, has spent his entire career studying the life of Jesus. He says his new book is the ...

Recovered Gospel of Judas Gives Alternative View of Christ's Betrayal Post Date: 2006-04-06 21:18:18 by Brian S

Apr 7, 2006, 19:00 GMT Washington - The Gospel of Judas, attacked as heretical in early church texts but lost to Christianity for the last 17 centuries, was revealed Thursday by scholars in Washington. The 26-page papyrus document casts Judas Iscariot as the best friend of Jesus, doing his master's bidding by betraying the Messiah. For nearly two millennia, the four accepted gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John have made Judas a synonym for betrayal, portraying him as selling out Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. His kiss identified Jesus for the Romans to arrest, and after the crucifixion, a guilt-ridden Judas was said to have committed suicide. In the newly revealed version, ...

NEW YORK - Televangelist John Hagee told Jewish community leaders over the weekend that the 40 million evangelical Christians in the United States support Israel and that he plans to utilize this power to help Israel by launching a Christian pro-Israel lobby. The lobby, called Christians United for Israel, is slated to launch in July, during a Washington conference in which hundreds of American evangelicals are slated to participate, Hagee said at a meeting of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, which represents 52 national Jewish groups. He also discussed the lobby with Israel's consul general in New York, Aryeh Mekel. Hagee said his group would be a ...
