History of English Versions by Benjamin Wilson The first English version of the New Testament was that made by John Wiclif, or Wycliffe, about the year 1367. I have no idea why people are so confused about names. Especially about a proper name for our Heavenly Father. If you are confused about this, perhaps you can check out, for yourself, the importance of a proper name.... and the proper use of that name! On Shamian Island in Guangzhou there is a hotel called The White Swan Hotel. This hotel is easily one of the best if not the best hotel in Guangzhou and is famous in Guangzhou and Guandong for it's opulence and so rightly so.
