Is It Required To Wash Hands After Touching A Goy? (answer: mostly) Post Date: 2008-01-31 19:21:17 by JiminyC

Lets today discuss a Halacha in the laws of Netilat Yadayim. There is a Teshuva from Rav Chayim Palachi that he has basis from the Zohar that says that Goyim have impurity and therefore if somebody touches a Goy or shakes the hand of a Goy, so he needs to make Netilat Yadayim after that. That is brought in the book Lev Chayim and also in the book Ruach Chayim, and it was also brought down in Kaf Hachayim. They were Machmir when touching any part of a Goy to make Netilat Yadayim. However, the Peri Begadim does bring down that the world is not Makpid (strict) on this. Some say that theres only impurity where there is Kedusha, and since there is no Kedusha, so theres no ...

...considering that LBJ gagged the Church in 1954 by the 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status that basically prohibits the participation of state-churches in shaping the morals of our government. I'll throw out some meat for you to work with: The federal government has proved a tremendous impediment to the ongoing work of Christians. In all the laws that they have passed against Christian schools, gagging the church, taxation, and all kinds of things that they have done, they have made it harder for the church to exercise its prerogatives and to preach the gospel. "Take the last presidential election. There were numbers of things that I knew that I was never able to say from the ...

Over the gorse and the golden dells, Ringing and swinging the clamorous bells, Praying and saying of wild farewells: War! War! War! (Robert W. This 100-year old offshoot of fundamental Christianity has almost single-handedly legitimized wars in Arab states since January 1991. Its power at the polls is only now being understood. We Hold These Truths objective for nine years has been to explain why members of ...
Oregon Supreme Court Rules 12-Year-Old Boy Should Be Consulted About Circumcision Post Date: 2008-01-25 19:47:58 by Brian S

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- The wishes of a 12-year-old boy should be considered in a dispute between his divorced parents about whether he should be circumcised, the Oregon Supreme Court ruled Friday. The father, James Boldt, converted to Judaism in 2004 and wants the boy to be circumcised as part of the faith. The mother, Lia Boldt, appealed to the high court, saying the operation could harm her son physically and psychologically. The state Supreme Court ruled that earlier court decisions failed to determine whether the boy wanted the circumcision, as his father contended, or opposed it, as his mother alleged. The Supreme Court sent the case back to the trial court to answer that question. ...

A national television network has decided to censor an episode of a new political show featuring self-described Christian "infidels" eating a cookie emblazoned with an image of the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Faith TV made the decision in the wake of WND news coverage about "Flamethrower," a cutting-edge program whose latest episode originally scheduled for this week deals with "All Things Islam." "We're not going to air it," said Jim West, president of the Florida-based, Christian network. "We feel this program just goes beyond the bounds of good taste." "We appreciate the producer's attempt at parody and drawing attention to ...
Messiah Huckabee unsettling picture Post Date: 2008-01-23 21:56:51 by Dakmar

The Messiah is coming! His name is Mike Huckabee. He wants to rewrite the Constitution to reflect his interpretation of the Bible regarding gays, lesbians and that old Republican favorite, "family values". This has been tried before. The Puritans came to this continent to have religious freedom as they regarded the Church of England to be lacking in piety. First the Jews and Quakers were victimized as not having the right religion. Then they turned on their own for not being pious enough. In spite of the fact that 30 percent of the United States is not Christian, Huckabee wants to make it all Christian, following in the footsteps of columnist Ann Coulter, who thinks that Jews ...

Conquering the Spirit of Debt 48 min 56 sec - Sep 27, 2007 myspace.com Conquering the Spirit of Debt This amazing sermon given in Sept 2003 by Pastor Rod Parsley at Breakthrough Church in Columbus Ohio ... all » details the story of how Paul Warburg, John D. Rockefeller, and J.P. Morgan met with Senator Aldridge at a conference in Jekyll Island to create the Federal Reserve Banking System in America circa 1913. Most people hear about the "national debt" but few ask what it means or who we owe. This was the best quality video I could get, but I hope this gets the message through. Dennis Miller: The Rants Post Date: 2008-01-17 17:30:56 by freepatriot32

There's good news for those who rage at the evening news, shake their heads at Washington's business as usual, or watch as politicians carom from social crises to political crises to economic crises: Dennis Miller is here, and he means to shake the nation by its lapels. Miller takes no prisoners. Whether the subject is dope-addled baseball players who can no longer swing their bats, do-nothing politicians who devote their careers to creating meaningful sound bites, or the nation's resigned acceptance of violence as a way of American life, these thematically arranged monologues are funny and angry. More significantly, they shatter the conventions of comedy by simultaneously ...

"Here Was A Man" (To be spoken--Johnny Cash-like--over a lonely keyboard version of "Joy to the World") "Here was a man...a man who was born in a small village, the son of a peasant woman. He grew up in another small village. Until He reached the age of thirty, He worked as a carpenter; then, for three years, He was a travelling minister. But He never travelled more than two hundred miles from where He was born, and where He did go, He usually walked. He never held political office, He never wrote a book, He never bought a home, He never had a family, He never went to college, and He never set foot inside a big city, yet...here was a man. Indiana Jones meets the Da Vinci Code Post Date: 2008-01-15 12:17:57 by robin

Islam watchers blogged all weekend about news that a secret archive of ancient Islamic texts had surfaced after 60 years of suppression. Andrew Higgins' Wall Street Journal report that the photographic record of Koranic manuscripts, supposedly destroyed during World War II but occulted by a scholar of alleged Nazi sympathies, reads like a conflation of the Da Vinci Code with Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail. The Da Vinci Code offered a silly fantasy in which Opus Dei, homicidal monks and twisted billionaires chased after proof that Christianity is a hoax. But the story of the photographic archive of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, now ensconced in a Berlin vault, is a case of life ...

A MUSLIM store worker refused to serve a customer buying a childrens book on Christianity because she said it was unclean. Shopper Sally Friday felt publicly humiliated at a branch of Marks & Spencer when she tried to pay for First Bible Stories as a gift for her young grandson. When she put the book on the check-out counter, the young assistant refused to touch it, declared it was unclean and summoned another member of staff to serve instead. Mrs Friday said she was so upset that she has now complained to the stores management. Last night politicians and religious leaders supported her in condemning the high street giant and reigniting the debate over ...
Joel Osteen: Mitt's a Real Christian (Mormon-LDS-Smithian Cult) Post Date: 2008-01-13 13:30:23 by _______

In an interview with Fox News' Chris Wallace, popular televangelist Joel Osteen gave Mitt Romney an endorsement of sorts, addressing the doctrinal issues that many had hoped would be addressed in Romney's "Faith in America" speech. WALLACE: And what about Mitt Romney? And I've got to ask you the question, because it is a question whether it should be or not in this campaign, is a Mormon a true Christian? OSTEEN: Well, in my mind they are. Mitt Romney has said that he believes in Christ as his savior, and that's what I believe, so, you know, I'm not the one to judge the little details of it. So I believe they are. And so, you know, Mitt Romney seems like a man ...
Student protests district’s rejection of motto (Ruled unsuitible because it is derived from the Bible) Post Date: 2008-01-12 15:52:14 by Ferret Mike

BLUE RIVER Some senior class members at 90-student McKenzie High School thought theyd spotted a great class motto in a Bible verse quoted at the August funeral of a classmate killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident. But, even after the students deleted references to God, McKenzie School District officials rejected as too religious the motto: They that believe shall mount up with wings as eagles. Class member Brianna Rux, 17, disagreed with the decision and wrote a guest opinion in Fridays Register-Guard protesting it. In it, she said the verse seemed particularly fitting, given that class members have pulled together to rise above their grief and ...

THE CHURCH OF HUCK: GROWING GOV'T. IN THE NAME OF RELIGION Post Date: 2008-01-05 18:46:35 by _______

by Selwyn Duke December 25, 2007NewsWithViews.comThere is a candidate in the presidential race who has a serious religion problem. No, it's not Mormon Mitt or recently-religious Rudy. It is Mike Huckabee. Just for the record, I share Huck's faith in Jesus Christ. Not only have I no problem with religion in public life, I also understand that one can't really separate a person's world view from his politics. The political is merely a reflection of the spiritual; our politics doesn't emerge in a vacuum. So what is my problem with Huck? Do I accuse him of false religiosity? No, what scares me is that his beliefs are all too real. To that enormous secular conservative ...

By Pastor Chuck BaldwinJanuary 4, 2008NewsWithViews.com If the reader has not already done so, I again urge you to read the book, Hitler's Cross, which was written by Erwin Lutzer and published by Moody Press. This book should be "required reading" for every pastor and Christian layman in America. In his book, Lutzer focuses on the attitudes and actions of Germany's pastors and churches during the rise and reign of the Third Reich. It is a masterpiece. For those of us living in a country and time far removed from Hitler's Germany, it is hard to comprehend how that nation's Christians--and especially its ministers--could have been so thoroughly taken in by old ...

Women who stop church 'put health at risk' Post Date: 2008-01-04 01:55:31 by scrapper2

Women who stop going to church are at greater risk of mental health and drinking problems, a study claims. Researchers say women who let their religious activity lapse are three times more likely to suffer from anxiety or become dependent on alcohol than those who keep their faith active. However, men who took part in the study and who became less religious in adulthood did not appear to suffer any increase in mental health problems. Dr Joanna Maselko, the lead study author, of Temple University, Philadelphia, said women suffered more from losing interest in religion because they were more likely to lose friends and social contacts as a result. Dr Maselko said: "Women are more ...
