CoastZone - Researching Reincarnation
Post Date: 2012-06-13 23:30:20 by Tatarewicz

On Monday's show, making his Coast debut, journalist and publisher, Roy Stemman, who has spent his life researching the paranormal, talked about his most recent work investigating reincarnation, comparing the best-documented case studies from around the world. There are mainly two types of cases, he explained, children who spontaneously remember past lives, and adults who recall previous incarnations through past life regressions (hypnosis). A lot of material was available in parapsychology journals, but many astonishing cases had never made it into the public domain, he noted. In the cases that involve children, they typically start having recall of a past life around the ages of 2 ...

1984, Round 2

1984, Round 2 Stephen Van Esch - 2001.06.13 Apple seems to be on a roll these days. Knock your socks off hardware, a new assault on the education market, accolades for their software efforts - and the list goes on. I can honestly say that this might be Apple's last big chance to press forward and gain new users. I think Apple can gain new users easily enough with its product offerings, but at this point they may be getting a huge helping hand from their old rival (now the ugly aunt that they must pucker up and kiss at family reunions) Microsoft. Microsoft, of course owns the majority of the desktop OS market. Over 90% of the world's computers run some version of Windows. Unless ...

Ancient 'White City' of Gold is Discovered

It 's a storyline that could be found in an Indiana Jones movie. But this time there is no Harrison Ford, just some of the smartest scientists in the world. Using advanced laser mapping technology, researchers from the University of Houston and the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping (NCALM) have discovered a remote region of Honduras that may have exposed the legendary lost city of Ciudad Blanca, known as the 'White City' of gold. The city is shown in several texts as the birthplace of the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl and old reported sightings over the years have described golden idols and elaborately carved white stones like the one shown below from the fabled El Dorado ...

Natural Gas Vehicles Will Kill the Electric Car

Kill the Electric Car? Although I'm a long-time supporter of electric vehicles, it would be irresponsible as an investor to ignore potential threats to this market. So for the sake of clarification, I've decided to take a closer look at the benefits of natural gas-powered vehicles to see if they are, in fact, enough to close the lid on electric car development. The first benefit is fuel price. The most recent EPA report of compressed natural gas (CNG) prices indicates $2.13 per equivalent gasoline gallon. In some parts of the country, that's half the price of 87 Octane. Of course, natural gas won't be dirt cheap forever... but neither will gasoline. Quite frankly, I ...

$90 Million Silver Ponzi Scheme Exposed

They say that silver pays off, but not quite like this... Ronnie Gene Wilson and Atlantic Bullion & Coin have banked up to $90 million in a massive silver ponzi scheme. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is charging both Wilson and Atlantic Bullion & Coin with fraud in connection to a massive Ponzi scheme in violation of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) and CFTC regulations. The scheme was over a decade in the making. The defendants operated out of Easley, South Carolina and allegedly sold silver contracts throughout the nation without actually purchasing any physical silver whatsoever. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal: all of the riches, none of the leg work. ...

Boston teacher tells grads: you're not special

A straight-talking Boston teacher gave his students a reality check during their graduation, using his address to tell them they were 'not special'. In a rant targeting modern American parenting, Wellesley High teacher David McCullough Jr reminded the 'pampered, cosseted and doted upon' seniors that they are just another person on a planet with a population of 6.8billion - and therefore utterly insignificant. 'Yes, you’ve been pampered, cosseted, doted upon, helmeted, bubble wrapped... nudged, cajoled, wheedled .. feted and fawned over and called sweetie pie,' he told the teenagers in the speech, published on http://BostonHerald.com. 'But do not get the ...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A Somali Islamist militant group is offering rewards of chickens and camels for information on the whereabouts of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, mocking the millions of dollars the United States has offered for leaders of the al Qaeda affiliate. Fuad Muhammad Khalaf of the Shabaab al-Mujahideen Movement in Somalia made the offer after Friday prayers, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors militant organizations. "Whoever reveals the hideout of the idiot Obama will be rewarded with 10 camels, and whoever reveals the hideout of the old woman Hillary Clinton will be rewarded 10 chickens and 10 roosters," he ...

Bing signs Encyclopaedia Britannica for search results

Microsoft has signed a deal with Encyclopaedia Britannica to add entries from the reference work to Bing. The tie-up means summaries of topics using data from the Encyclopaedia will be added to some search results. The deal builds on Britannica's decision in March to stop producing a print edition. It is also seen as a response to Google's "knowledge graph" that consolidates search information about specific subjects. Microsoft announced the deal via a blogpost and said when information from Britannica was relevant to a search, Bing users would see a small box summarising salient facts about a topic or subject. At the same time it would also provide links to other ...

In a modified version of the film “Indecent Proposal,” a German couple have auctioned off their wedding night to a stranger – and been offered just €366 for it. An online advert placed by “NicoleBlow37” – whose real name is Sandra – reads, “Yes, you read correctly: You may take me in front of my husband on our wedding night.” The Bild newspaper reported on Tuesday that one lucky bidder bagged the chance to fulfil the couple's long-time fantasy, which involves the 38-year-old woman being seduced by a stranger in a hotel - only to be caught by her groom. “We'll meet in a hotel which you, as a gentleman, will pay for,” the ...

Stem Cell Research: On Tuesday's show, renegade thinker & scientist Robert Lanza discussed the nature of the Universe, and his theory of 'biocentrism,' as well as the latest developments in stem cell therapy. Dr. Lanza, who is currently the Chief Scientific Officer of Advanced Cell Technology, said they've developed multiple methods of "cellular reprogramming," and a type of stem cell (akin to nanoparticles), that can be injected into the bloodstream and will travel to where damage repair is needed such as in the heart. A new type of super-potent stem cell demonstrated success in stopping multiple sclerosis in animal tests, he reported, which gives hope that ...

Half of US Susceptible to Online Scams, Study Finds

If you browse the Web, chances are you’ve seen alerts saying you’re the millionth viewer or offering a vague “work from home” opportunity. Or maybe you’ve received emails saying you’re the heir to $52 million, and you just need to wire over some money for the transfer. Despite the seemingly obvious nature of these scams, a study found that close to half the people targeted by them are likely to fall victim. The study was conducted by digital security company PC Tools, and the Ponemon Institute, a think tank that researches privacy and data protection. The results drift away from some stereotypes: young people, between 18 and 25, were more likely to fall for ...

PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix police have arrested a woman who allegedly drove off after forgetting that her 5-week-old baby was in a car seat on the roof of her vehicle. Officer James Holmes said officers were called out early Saturday after witnesses found a child strapped in a safety seat in the middle of an intersection. The boy wasn't hurt. He's now in the custody of Arizona Child Protective Services. Authorities say the child's mother, 19-year-old Catalina Clouser, her boyfriend and their friends had been smoking marijuana earlier in the evening at a nearby park. Upset that her boyfriend was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence, police say Clouser went ...

Dad faces poaching charge for fake fishing

A German dad who tried to impress his kids while on holiday by “catching” a couple of fish that he had actually bought at a supermarket - could face prison after being prosecuted for poaching. Alexander Donninger was on holiday in Austria with his family when he decided on the trick to make his kids think he was a top fisherman, newspaper Die Welt reported on Tuesday. He went to a supermarket in the Kufstein district and bought two frozen trout – already gutted and ready to cook - not anticipating how tangled his lines were about to become. Once back at the lake where he and his kids were “fishing” he tied them to the end of lines and dangled them in the lake ...

The human penis is a puzzler, no bones about it
Post Date: 2012-06-01 02:07:26 by Tatarewicz

The penis. It comes in so many different shapes and sizes … and that’s just in humans. As you would imagine, different species have very different penises. The males in most mammal species, including cats, dogs and rats, have a bone in their penis called a “baculum”, or “os penis”. Of course human males don’t possess an os penis – in fact, humans are the only primate species besides the spider monkey to be lacking in this department. But we aren’t the only mammal not to have one: whales, horses, rhinos, rabbits, elephants, marsupials and hyenas all go without. So, why do some species have a penis bone? Well, simply put, to help males ...

Was there any doubt she’d say yes? If there’s one thing YouTube has taught us, it’s that Americans like a good love story with ridiculous choreography. Following that trend, a couple in Portland, Ore., raised the bar for marriage proposals In a video going viral, Amy Frankel sits in the open back of a Honda CRV wearing a pair of headphones as the car slowly drives down the street. A song starts playing. It’s Bruno Mars’ “Marry You.” Soon people start marching in the street behind the car, lip-syncing and dancing to the music — first two, then four, then six, then 16, then many, many more. At the end of the song, the crowd parts, and her ...
