Titanic II embarks on maiden voyage, lives up to its name Titanic II: Briton Mark Wilkinson set out from Dorset's West Bay harbor in his inauspiciously named 16-foot cabin cruiser. You can guess what happened next. By Eoin O'Carroll, Staff / June 8, 2011 Mark Wilkinson's second-hand boat, which he rechristened as the Titanic II, behaved on its maiden voyage exactly as one might expect from a vessel with that name. Mr. Wilkinson towed the 16-foot cabin cruiser, which he had just purchased for about $1,600, from his home in Birmingham, England, and set out on a fishing trip from West Bay harbor in Dorset on Saturday morning. On his way back, as the Titanic II made its way into ...

I was eating lunch with my 10 year old grandson at school when I asked Him, "Did you know that President's Day is tomorrow?" He nodded. So I asked "Do you know what that means?" I was waiting for something "profound", since who knows what they teach Them these days, as most civics subjects have been deemed "old fashioned", "politically incorrect", and "non-inclusive" in most school districts. He said, "President's Day is when Obama steps out of the White House, And if he sees his shadow, we have 2 more years of unemployment." I was so proud, I almost snorted out my iced tea!!

Dam Busters dog renamed for movie remake The Dam Busters' dog will be renamed for a new version of the classic war movie, it has emerged. Stephen Fry, who is writing the film's screenplay, said there was "no question in America that you could ever have a dog called the N-word". In the remake, the dog will be called "Digger" instead of "Nigger". The black Labrador was the mascot for RAF 617 squadron, which during World War II destroyed dams in Germany with Barnes Wallis's famous bouncing bomb. Owned by the squadron's wing commander, Guy Gibson, the animal was run over and killed during the planning of the Dambuster raids, and was buried at ...

Bilderbergers issue assassination orders; Bilderberg Swiss banksters pay the contract kill fees. On Monday 30th May 2011, Peter Odintsov conducted an interview with a senior Swiss banker in Moscow (Russia). The banker explained that he had been involved in making a direct payment in cash to a professional assassin who had been contracted to kill the president of a Third World country. The Swiss bank involved received a coded handwritten payment instruction from a foreign secret service. This procedure was, and is, standard practice in the administration of Bilderberg-initiated élite BlackOps. The Swiss banks concerned regularly receive such payment orders for contract assassination ...

Temper control for Grandparents

A woman in a supermarket is watching a grandfather and his badly-behaved 3-year-old grandson. It's obvious to her that he has his hands full with the child screaming for sweets in the sweet aisle, biscuits in the biscuit aisle; and for fruit, cereal and pop in the other aisles. Meanwhile, the grandfather is working his way around, saying in a controlled voice, "Easy, William, we won't be long, easy, boy." Another outburst, and she hears the grandfather calmly say, "It's okay, William, just a couple more minutes and we'll be out of here. Hang in there, boy." At the checkout, the little terror is throwing items out of the cart, and the grandfather says ...

Australia "loses" UFO files

Australia's military has lost its X-Files, detailing sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFOs, across the country, a newspaper report said Tuesday. After a two-month search in response to a newspaper Freedom of Information (FOI) request, which forces government officials to release documents of public interest, Australia's Department of Defense had been unable to locate the files, the Sydney Morning Herald said. "The files could not be located and Headquarters Air Command formally advised that this file is deemed lost," the department's FOI assistant director, Natalie Carpenter, told the paper. Defense officials could not be contacted by Reuters. The only ...

Help me define Sheep(le)

I was interacting with a 9/11 Fairy Tale friend yesterday, who takes issue w/ everything I put out, rarely reads what I send, and pulls the usual dismissal of it all for tertiary reasons, but he claimed that I was just as much a "sheep" as anyone else, which obviously is silly for numerous reasons. But that got me thinking, how do we define "sheep/sheeple?" I'll start, please feel free to add on to the definition or amend it. Sheep/Sheeple: A. One that believes that the MSM, wich includes all TV news reporting, all major newspapers across the nation, anything that Reuters & AP put out, along with a variety of other things, is truthful reporting and not ...

Don't deport Korean family, N.B. expert says

An economic development expert says Canada's decision to deport a South Korean family sends the wrong message to would-be immigrants. The Department of Citizenship and Immigration told New Brunswick's Maeng family they have to leave Canada by the end of the month because care for their youngest son, who is epileptic and autistic, is too expensive. Sung-Joo Maeng, 15, was diagnosed with autism and epilepsy at age five. His father, Tae-Shik Maeng, and his mother, Hee-Eun Jang, moved the family to Canada with the hope of getting help to treat their son's illnesses. The family has owned and operated Moncton's Main Stop Oriental Market on West Main Street for several years. ...

IE6 countdown campaign, BBC Microsoft has run an extended campaign to get people to abandon IE6 - one of its older browsers. Google is phasing out support for older browsers from 1 August. Those using IE7, Safari 3, Firefox 3.5 and their predecessors to view Gmail, Google Calendar, Talk, Docs and Sites will then lose some functions. Eventually, it warned, these web services will stop working for those sticking with older browsers. The move is part of a trend to stop the use of ageing browsers which can be insecure and not sophisticated enough to handle the latest web technologies. Code malfunction Statistics on browser versions gathered by StatCounter suggest about 17% need to change ...

German Court rules 'kiss my ass' insulting

The German phrase “Leck mich am Arsch,” the equivalent of “kiss my ass,” has been officially ruled an insult by a court in Kaiserslautern. The district court revised an earlier ruling in a case involving a man who uttered the phrase to a policeman at a train station in the western state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The man responded with the rude remark after the officer asked him not to smoke. A lower court had originally acquitted the man of insulting the policeman, arguing the phrase was a common colloquial form of speech in the state. But the chamber overturned the ruling and imposed a fine after an appeal by state prosecutors. German law criminalizes speech ...

Jack Kevorkian, the U.S. doctor who was jailed for helping terminally ill people commit suicide, has died at the age of 83. The former pathologist's attorney and friend says Kevorkian died early Friday at a hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. He was hospitalized last month with kidney problems. In 2007, Kevorkian was released from prison after serving eight years of a 10 to 25-year sentence for second-degree murder. A jury in Michigan sentenced him in 1999 after a video aired on national television of Kevorkian administering lethal drugs to a patient suffering from the debilitating nervous system disease named after U.S. baseball player Lou Gehrig. He had been jailed and charged in ...
