IT PAYS TO KNOW GERMAN An Amish Farmer walking through his field notices a man drinking from his pond with his hand. The Amish Farmer shouts: "Trinken Sie nicht das Wasser, die Kuhe und die Schweine haben in ihm geschissen!" Which means: "Don't drink the water, the cows and the pigs have sh*t in it!" The man shouts back: "I'm a Muslim, I don't understand your gibberish. Speak English, Infidel!" The Amish Farmer shouts back in English: "Use two hands, you'll get more!"

Friday night a caller from Toronto, Canada brought up the issue of Israel's misbehavior: This is probably faulty intelligences that Iran has the bomb. Israel has the bomb. They occupied territories. They manipulate our media. They got Helen and Markison? fired. They're starving the Palestinians. The government...Netanyahou is a very dangerous person. Noory: This is what I said about Israel-Palestinian situation: both sides need to get together and stop doing what they're doing. Palestinians at this point need to recognize Israel as a nation. Israel needs to stop building their building process...and make a homeland for the Palestinians who are truly an oppressed people. I know ...
Recent Outages Post Date: 2010-11-06 01:59:57 by Pinguinite

The recent outages appear to have been caused by a bunch of automated hits on the server that overwhelmed it. The source seems to be a somewhat random list of IPs, so blocking those IP's would likely not do much good in preventing a repeat. The fix here is a modification on the software to disregard any requests for thread pages if a huge number of such requests come in a very short time (more than 10 in one second, for example) but such a modification will need to be added to my to-do list, so there may be more such outages in the near future. Until then all I can do is deal with them when they happen. This looks like a Denial of Service (DOS) attack but simple incompetence by some ...

I recently made the mistake of ordering flowers from pro-flowers direct and every since then I've been inundated with spam on a daily basis. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good spam program for Outlook Express? I use AVG for my Internet security stuff but it appears they do not deal with anti-spam programs for e-mail.
Almost $400,000/year just isn't enough for TOS Post Date: 2010-11-03 21:19:09 by James Deffenbach

Well, the new drive to pull in almost $400,000.00 every year now just isn't enough to keep the boxes up. TOS crashed about an hour ago as far as I can tell - it's still four-paws-up. The fix? $500,000.000 per year, no doubt ....... and a stack of Olive Garden gift cards. They've got some Super Geniuses running that server farm, all right. All that money, and a text-based chat room can't keep up in an off year. Pretty lame, eh?
Poster Comment:Whoever has that video of Hitler and something about a chat room for cat ladies, this would be a good thread for that.

Get the facts about Advanced Imaging Technology Since January 2010 the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been rolling out what they term Advanced Imaging Technology, or Whole Body Imaging, at airports around the United States. These devices are used to perform a virtual strip search of passengers, looking beneath the clothes to display a picture of the skin. The TSA originally said that these machines would be used only for secondary screening, for those passengers that set off an alarm at the walk-through metal detector or Explosives Trace Detection (ETD) machine. They are now being used as primary screening at 45 airports, to take nude images of passengers who have done ...

Here is the direct quote from his book pg. 405 For more than a century, ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ...

New York child sued for woman's death after bike crash Post Date: 2010-10-30 17:03:23 by James Deffenbach

A New York child can be sued for crashing a bicycle into an elderly pedestrian and causing injuries that led to her death, a judge has ruled. Juliet Breitman and another child were four years old when they raced their small bicycles on a Manhattan street and ran into Claire Menagh, 87. Juliet's lawyer had argued Juliet was too young to be held negligent. The judge disagreed, ruling Juliet's lawyer had presented no evidence she lacked intelligence or maturity. According to court filings, in April 2009, Juliet Breitman and Jacob Kohn were accompanied by their mothers, Dana Breitman and Rachel Kohn, as they raced their bicycles along the pavement near the East River in New ...

Sleuths study ancient UFOs Paul Schemm / AP A stela at the Egyptian museum in Cairo shows Pharaoh Akhenaten, Queen Nefertiti and their children worshipping the sun in the more natural artistic style of the time. Akhenaten's sighting of a "shining disk" descending from the sky is included on a list of 500 unexplained aerial observations made before the industrial revolution, drawn up by Jacques Vallee and Chris Aubeck. Alan Boyle writes: One of the best-known scientific sleuths of UFO sightings is focusing his search not on today's flying saucers, but on the sky wonders of antiquity. Jacques Vallee, the French-born computer whiz and venture capitalist who also served as ...

Food in Uncertain Times: How to Grow and Store the 5 Crops You Need to Survive Makenna Goodman ChelseaGreen Thu, 21 Oct 2010 18:56 CDT the resiliant gardener © Carol Deppe Having food resiliency is as much about learning how to store and use food properly as it is about growing it. The key is learning interdependence not independence. In an age of erratic weather and instability, it's increasingly important to develop a greater self-reliance when it comes to food. And because of this, more than ever before, farmers are developing new gardening techniques that help achieve a greater resilience. Longtime gardener and scientist Carol Deppe, in her new book The Resilient Gardener: ...

Firefighters Fiddle While Roseville Burns Post Date: 2010-10-25 10:02:03 by Eric Stratton

Firefighters Fiddle While Roseville Burns by Steven Greenhut October 25th, 2010 I hear endlessly from firefighters who typically earn pay and benefit packages of $175,000 a year here in California that they are heroes who put their lives on the line to keep us and our property safe. Yet, so often when tragedy strikes, these heroes act in ways that certainly are not heroic. For instance, on Thursday a major fire consumed a good part of the Roseville Galleria, one of the largest malls in northern California, while firefighters basically waited outside to allow the fire sprinklers to do the job. As the Sacramento Bee reported, a "troubled" 23-year-old man walked into a game store, ...
