Trying to figure out whether to use the indefinite article a or an before a noun can be tricky for inexperienced English users. Many people seem to think that you should use a before a consonant and an before a vowel, but it is not quite that simple. The actual rule is that a is used before a consonant sound and an before a vowel sound — these do not always match up with the letter itself! For example, one of the most common mistakes I have been seeing recently is the use of “a hour” instead of “an hour”. I went to Xfest yesterday. There were 10 bands that played. I didn't see them all. The ones I saw were Drowning pool. They were ok. Papa Roach sucked and the singer had a foul mouth. Sick Puppies from Australia were very good. Seether really rocked. But I was really impressed with Shinedown. I've heard some of their music before but never knew who they were or what their name was. I was very impressed. They were a class act. The Singer whatever his name was wore a suit and tie and the way he spoke to the audience really impressed me. There music was great. I am now a fan. Here is some of their music. I have been away for a while and have missed a lot of news. I have been wondering...no, I'm violently curious. What has happened about the two auxilliary pipelines that BP was drilling to release the pressure on the failed BOP that caused the gusher in the Gulf of Mexico? What has BO decided about offshore drilling? Is it on again or off again? If it's on again is BP still continuing with the two pipelines to exploit any further profits that can be gained from the site? Who has the best baked spare rib recipe? No, I'm not manning the BBQ. I only like to bbq skewered turtle, but I have none of that today. : ) PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!!! The babies are going in the over within 20 minutes. I'm throwing on the salt, pepper, seasoning, beer and a bit of BBQ sauce. Wrapping them in foil and throwing them in at 275 for about three hours. My intuition tells me that this will be very tasty. This is the plan if I don't hear from a more experienced rib cooker with a better plan for the holiday meal. PS: THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL OF OUR WONDERFUL AND YUMMY IDEAS!!!
