Who has the best baked spare rib recipe? No, I'm not manning the BBQ. I only like to bbq skewered turtle, but I have none of that today. : ) PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!!! The babies are going in the over within 20 minutes. I'm throwing on the salt, pepper, seasoning, beer and a bit of BBQ sauce. Wrapping them in foil and throwing them in at 275 for about three hours. My intuition tells me that this will be very tasty. This is the plan if I don't hear from a more experienced rib cooker with a better plan for the holiday meal. PS: THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL OF OUR WONDERFUL AND YUMMY IDEAS!!!

Paraprosdokian Sentences (Good slogans to put on t-shirts) [Full Thread] Post Date: 2010-09-04 12:21:09 by James Deffenbach

A paraprosdokian (from Greek "À±Á±-", meaning "beyond" and "ÀÁ¿Ã´¿º¯±", meaning "expectation") is a figure of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected in a way that causes the reader or listener to reframe or reinterpret the first part. It is frequently used for humorous or dramatic effect, sometimes producing an anticlimax. For this reason, it is extremely popular among comedians and satirists. Some paraprosdokians not only change the meaning of an early phrase, but also play on the double meaning of a particular word, ...

Reflections on Jack Kennedy Post Date: 2010-09-03 06:03:20 by Stephen Lendman

Reflections on Jack Kennedy - by Stephen Lendman Though much about his background and public service warrants criticism, he also deserves praise rarely given properly, this article offering some and the writer's personal reflections on his commencement address to my June 14, 1956 graduating class, a message not heard now by US leaders - erudite, incisive and timely. More on it below. Some Background Had an assassin not taken his life, his health surely would have, some around him saying "from a medical standpoint, (he) was a mess." Indeed so, having been hospitalized more than three dozen times in his life and given last rites on three occasions. At age 2 years, 9 months, ...

Michael Douglas went on Letterman Tuesday and talked about the recent news that he has throat cancer. He has just completed his first of eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy, and appeared a little thinner than usual, with his suit slightly oversize. With the coming weeks of treatment, he said, his voice may change and it could become impossible to swallow solid food. But he was upbeat, saying that despite his throat cancer being Stage 4, it has not spread down below his throat. Asked by Letterman what the percentages were, Douglas said he has an 80% chance of recovery, with some hospitals even more optimistic. When Letterman wondered if there was anything he could do, Douglas said, ...

What's the largest man-made structure in the world? Post Date: 2010-08-31 18:06:48 by James Deffenbach

Like a lot of these categories, it depends on what you consider to be a structure, or what you mean by largest. The largest man-made object is the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It's hard to pin down the exact size of the patch, but some estimates put it at around 550,000 square miles, or about twice the size of Texas. Currents across the Pacific Ocean drag trash from the coasts of Asia and North America to this area creating a soup of debris. Invalid YouTube video embed code The largest man-made lake will soon be the reservoir created by China's Three Gorges Dam. Although the dam's structure was completed in 2006, the reservoir is still growing. This as-yet unnamed ...

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (CN) - A man who was hurt in a car crash but was misidentified as a cancer patient claims security guards at Prince George's Hospital beat him up when he tried to leave the hospital to avoid chest surgery he didn't need - "to have a potentially cancerous mass removed from his chest." He adds that one guard repeatedly called him "bitch" as he roughed him up. Joseph Wheeler says a June 23 car accident put him in the hospital, which is owned by Dimensions Health Corporation. When he woke up hungry on June 24 and asked a nurse for food, she told him he couldn't eat because he was scheduled for surgery, Wheeler claims in Prince George's ...

Garage-band guitarist Marcos Esparza Bofill quit his floundering job as a day trader in the city after less than a year -- and left the tiny tenement apartment that he shared with roommates on East Sixth Street to move back to his native Barcelona, Spain, in hopes of having better luck with music career there, friends said. My Story - The Russian Girls of Harbin August 22, 2010 David Richards (for henrymakow.com) I spent last year teaching English in the 'Ice City' of China, Harbin, which is close to the Russian border. During my stay, I spent few social evenings in mainstream Chinese society, instead gravitating to the clubs where Westerners and Russians congregated. A frequent sight on these evenings were beautiful Russian girls, the majority of whom were studying Chinese. Many of them looked like super models, wore revealing dresses and drank heavily, raring to go! A young man's dream you might think. But the reality was much different. I found these girls to have a self-destructive ...
