September 11, 2001, focused America’s attention on the terrorist threat from abroad, but as the World Trade Center towers collapsed, domestic right wing hate groups were celebrating in the United States. “Hallelu-Yahweh! May the WAR be started! DEATH to His enemies, may the World Trade Center BURN TO THE GROUND!” exulted August Kreis of the paramilitary group, the Posse Comitatus. “We can blame no others than ourselves for our problems due to the fact that we allow …Satan’s children, called jews today, to have dominion over our lives (sic).” The Terrorist Next Door reveals the men behind far right groups like the Posse Comitatus – Latin for ...

Walter Burien on Coast to Coast

I’d like to share with you what happened to Walter Burien on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 as he spoke with George Noory live on Coast-To-Coast radio, the 5th largest syndicated radio show in America. This interview only happened after years of goading and begging from other guests and callers to have Walter as a guest. Mr. Burien was scheduled to be on this show for a three-hour interview, an almost unheard of time slot reserved for only the most special of guests. Keeping in mind that the subject matter of this interview - government wealth, corruption, and the proof of this subject through the analyzing of our governments Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFR’s) - has ...

What Obama Could Learn from Brit Hume

What Obama Could Learn from Brit Hume Kevin McCullough Sunday, January 10, 2010 In one of the more bizarre seasons of criticism to be laid at the feet of a pundit, former Fox News chief Brit Hume did a rare thing this past week. He offered a strikingly personal, and profoundly sincere held belief. He did so concerning the future of Tiger Woods. His opinion was not welcomed by major players across the American media spectrum, but the advice he proffered to the World's Greatest Golfer would be well heeded by the World's Most Powerful Leader. There was much more at play than the initial glance of the incident revealed. Those who have criticized Hume are mopes. For if an average ...

Gynecologist mechanic: A gynecologist was getting tired of his job and decided to switch careers. He'd always enjoyed tinkering with truck engines, so he enrolled in a school for truck mechanics. When the class ended the students were given their final exam: strip a truck engine completely and reassemble it in perfect working order. The gynecologist did his best - and was amazed to find he scored 150%. "How could that be?" he asked. "Well," said the instructor, "I gave you 50% for taking the engine apart. Next, I gave you 50% for reassembling it - a fantastic job, really. And then I gave you a 50% bonus for doing it all through the exhaust pipe." Truck ...

Fatherhood by Billboard? Marybeth Hicks Thursday, January 07, 2010 The billboards are everywhere. On one, a child's tiny toes rest atop the big, burly feet of a man, suggesting a playful moment between a dad and his toddler. Another portrays a laughing boy being chased by what appears to be his boisterous father. In another, a dad and son hop across the grass on bouncy balls in a larger-than-life spontaneous moment. All of these images are captioned, "Take time to be a dad today" and refer to the Web site www.fatherhood.gov. Positive images of fathers engaging with their children are a welcome message in a culture where families struggle to remain intact and mothers ...

A pathway to citizenship is the only way to go. It worked for the great Ronaldus Maximus Reagan and has been advocated by such Republican stalwarts as president George H.W. Bush, the Honorable John McCain and his loyal sidekick, the sainted Sarah Palin. For that matter, just about the whole Republican Party. The racist skinheads on this board will accept nothing less than spending billions of dollars hunting down illegal immigrants like they were dogs. Not only is this ridiculously simple minded, but in the end it will bankrupt businesses nationwide at a time when this country cannot afford it. Accused banjo beater can keep pickin' for now ASPEN, Colo. (AP) -- A banjo player accused of assaulting another man with his instrument will get to keep pickin' while awaiting his trial. Joseph Stancato, 33, of Denver faces second-degree assault charges after allegedly hitting another man upside the head with his banjo on New Year's Eve. Authorities said Stancato got into an argument with two men at a bus stop. District Judge James Boyd on Monday approved Stancato's request to be allowed on the road to tour with a band while awaiting his next court date Feb. 6. The banjo is considered "a deadly weapon" under Colorado law, so Stancato could face prison time, the ...

'Avatar': a Metaphor for the 'Long War'

Editor’s Note: As the United States heads into what will become a second decade of the neoconservatives’ “Long War” against Islamic militants, Americans have to go to greater and greater lengths to continue envisioning themselves as the blameless victims while their government inflicts massive violence against “insurgent” targets. Ironically, in popular culture, it is more common for Americans to root for the underdogs who resist the technological terrors of a modern military, as David Swanson notes in this guest essay: Let's face it, if James Cameron had made a movie with the Iraqi resistance as the heroes and the U.S. military as the enemies, and had ...

The Crying Game Mike Adams Wednesday, January 06, 2010 Welcome back students! This is the sixth day of a new year and the first day of a new semester. I’m excited to have you all in my class. Well, actually, I’m excited to have all but one of you in my class. Please allow me to explain. Each semester, I teach two sections of Introduction to Criminal Justice. Each section has 35 students. At the end of the semester, every student is given a chance to evaluate the course. I receive and read those evaluations several months after they are completed. When the evaluations come in, the results are generally the same. Over thirty students rave about the course – many saying it is ...

First grade parents shocked by teacher's assistant caught on tape Posted: Dec 23, 2009 9:34 PM CST Updated: Dec 24, 2009 8:30 AM CST By Rebecca Powers BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Rebecca and Mark Stabler say their 8-year-old son Gabe has come home from Jeff Davis Elementary in tears every day since school began in August. So, they put a tape recorder in his book bag to hear what goes on in his first grade class. The parents said that was on December 10th. When the recording was brought home that night, the Stablers were shocked to hear how assistant teacher Mershelia Williams spoke to the small children. They say her tone and grammar were deplorable. "She's messed with the wrong ...

Americans’ Role Seen in Uganda Anti-Gay Push By JEFFREY GETTLEMAN Published: January 3, 2010 KAMPALA, Uganda — Last March, three American evangelical Christians, whose teachings about “curing” homosexuals have been widely discredited in the United States, arrived here in Uganda’s capital to give a series of talks. The theme of the event, according to Stephen Langa, its Ugandan organizer, was “the gay agenda — that whole hidden and dark agenda” — and the threat homosexuals posed to Bible-based values and the traditional African family. For three days, according to participants and audio recordings, thousands of Ugandans, including police ...

One of These Things is Not Like the Others Mike Adams Tuesday, January 05, 2010 There is something about the name Jesus Christ that drives the non-believer mad. Any reference to the name (or to a quotation) of Jesus arouses in the non-believer a dissonance that cannot be aroused by any other source. I thought about that dissonance – a feeling I used to experience regularly - when I received a call from a distressed co-worker who, unlike me, does not have the benefit of tenure. That untenured co-worker was distressed because his supervisor had told him that some people were offended by the use of Bible verses in emails sent using the university email system. The university system had ...

JAN 3, 2010 -- As I write, the world is falling apart. Military forces from all major powers are flooding the Gulf of Aden, using piracy and terrorism as a pretext. This is all jockeying in anticipation of a major, and possibly total, war in and around the Persian Gulf -- where 60% of the planet's known oil is. Pakistan is imploding. Within days it will face a "worst possible" energy crisis and, according to Pakistani news sources, trigger massive civil unrest. Pakistan has failed. An Israeli and/or U.S. attack on Iran is now, no longer unthinkable. Just recently, Israel recalled all its ambassadors and charges d'affaires simultaneously for what (sure looked to me) was an ...

Quibodeaux, Thibodeaux and Boudreaux were sitting in a boat on a very cloudy day fishing. They had been fishing a good while when the sky suddenly opened up just above them and a ray of light shined down directly on the front of the boat. It spooked them and they started to get nervous. All of a sudden, they heard a voice from up above. "This is the Lord." They all looked at one another and begin saying, "I didn't do nothing, I didn't do nothing, I didn't do nothing." The Lord said, "Don't get nervous. I'm not here to pass judgment on you, I only want to grant each of you one healing wish." They all calmed down and Quibodeaux stood up in the ...

Dear Mr. Rand, Recently you sent us a letter encouraging us to renew our lapsed membership in AARP by the requested date. I know it is not what you were looking for, but this is the most honest response I can give you. Our gap in coverage is merely a microscopic symptom of the real problem, a deepening lack of faith. While we have proudly maintained our membership for several years and have long admired the AARP goals and principles, regrettably, we can no longer endorse it's abdication of our values. Your letter specifically stated that we can count on AARP to speak up for our rights, yet the voice we hear is not ours. Your offer of being kept up to date on important issues through ...
