Plain of Jars University

So now I’ve been to the Plain of Jars. Among places, it has among the most evocative of names. It sounds so plain, yet so poetic, because we simply don’t associate any plain, or meadow, with jars, and we’re not talking about Mason ones here, but stone, and huge, with the largest ten feet tall and weighting 14 tons. The average Lao man is only 5’3”, and the average woman, 4’11,” so these tiny people used iron tools to shape and hollow out thousands of these funerary urns made of sandstone, granite, conglomerate, limestone or breccia, except that they didn’t, because the current inhabitants of Laos weren’t here two thousand years ago, when these ...

Poster Comment:When I was making deliveries for the florist in Chicago, when they got one for the projects where the blacks lived they would send it with the delivery service. All their delivery guys were Mexicans. They carried knives and the black guys would not mess with them since knife cut leaves a pink scar. One time they missed one and I had to take it. It was on 6th floor. I took the elevator up and the stairs down. I left to a chorus of Rhinestone Cowboy since I was wearing my cowboy hat. ;)

Hey Doc, we haven't heard from you since last September. Are you OK? I remember the trials & tribulations that you went through, aside from having to be a doctor. I'm about 20 miles from you if you need some support, I'll do what I can, if you want it. Let us know you're OK, DocOct. I really miss your guidance. I really wish you could've been my MD when I needed one. I miss your gentle ministrations and guidance. Jim & 4um

Nah, I'm not going to do this. I thought it would be nice to get to know folks better here, but everybody is so scared about everything lately, it's a bad idea. Personally, I'm on my way out, and just don't care anymore. Some things I was thinking of asking: (No answer mandatory.) 1. M/F/fill in the blank, whatever. 2. Age/marital status. (Hey, I'm looking for a new babuska.) 3. Country, state, province, etc. 4. Financial status/living situation. 5. Race, color, creed, whatever. (I'm trying to think of s#it I had to fill out in the past.) 6. Criminal past. (real or made up by someone pissed.) 7. Automobile preference/color/why. 8. Profession. (Or whatever ...

Hey there overlord. We used to have 8 hours to edit our stuff. Just noticed during an over look that it has been reduced to 4 hours. Any reason for that? Personally. Ive always wished for 24 hours to edit. A day seems fair to me but th3 standard was 8 and i was ok with that. Nowits 4 hoers. Four. Ok well thats your3 opinion man But if we can't make it 24 hours can we at least keep it at eight? Rarely have I ever done something breaking newsworthy but on occasion ive been privileged. Justin carter remains a freeman. Others here do stuff too. Just saying 8 hours seems more generous and better than 4... still i would like to advocate for a senable 24 hour cycle. For correction ajd ...

Active Retention in Blackhawk T-Series
Post Date: 2019-12-25 16:06:03 by BTP Holdings

If you are looking for a great balance between rapid deployment and active retention in an outside-the-waistband holster, take a look at the Blackhawk T-series! This polymer holster rides outside the waistband and includes a thumb-operated retention lever. The release lever is positioned between the holster and the body and is protected by a pair of “ears” that will stop unauthorized access. Use of the holster is very intuitive, and it really appears that the chances of accidental or unauthorized activation are reduced to near zero. The downside of the holster is that this actuating lever needs some room, thus adding about half an inch to the thickness of the holster as it ...

Beached in Nha Trang

Nha Trang, 2019 Last month, I frowned on those who are drawn to the vagabond, rootless lifestyle, who think it is ideal to move from hotel room to hotel room. Guess what? I’ve joined them. Life is goofy that way. After my mother-in-law threatened to stab me more than ten times, I left Saigon and stayed in Vung Tau for over a month. Days ago, I took a 11-hour bus ride to Ea Kly, where I still had my stuff. Arriving at 3AM, I was out of that hill town by 6:30. With a backpack and two bags, I paid $4 to travel 88 miles to Nha Trang, via two vans. You can’t even go half a mile in a NYC cab on that. In the first van, our legroom was severely trimmed by bundles of bamboo rods, laid ...
