A Harris County sheriffs deputy was seen by customers arresting a fellow law enforcement officer who was using his badge and uniform to get away with stealing ammunition, because it was too expensive. A spokesman for the Harris County Sheriffs Department said that Sargent was arrested at the Academy Sports and Outdoors store after being caught on camera stealing around $60 worth of ammunition. I cant imagine why he would be ...

"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed, lest Rome become bankrupt. By Misha Hussain MACENTA, Guinea (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - In a land where witchcraft is sought after more than science for curing illness, medicine men in Guinea say the Ebola epidemic would be over by now if they had been properly included in the outbreak response. From broken bones to impotence to madness, these traditional healers say they have a potion, spell or touch for many ailments Western doctors can't treat. But there's only one cure for Ebola they say: knowledge. In the forest region of southeastern Guinea, where the virus was detected last March, disseminating information using modern technology has proved challenging, resulting in the disease outstaying its ...

A new study reveals that at least 38 percent of sex workers in the United Kingdom have a first degree from a college or university. The study of 240 sex workers, including 196 women, 28 men and 12 transgender people, focused on those who were not trafficked or forced into selling sex, but had chosen to do so, and most worked from within premises rather than on the streets, the Guardian reported. The academic research by Leeds University and funded by the Wellcome Trust, also reveals the pressures that lead people to enter the sex industry, with one respondent saying ...

(CN) - An Idaho lawmaker got an anatomy lesson Monday when he asked a doctor if a woman could swallow a camera to conduct a remote gynecological exam. State Rep. Vito Barbieri posed the question during testimony to the House State Affairs Committee. The bill at issue, HB 154, would bar doctors from prescribing abortion-inducing drugs through telemedicine services. Planned Parenthood posted an audiotape of the exchange on the Internet. Dr. Julie Madsen, who provides telemedicine services in Idaho, described a procedure in which colonoscopy patients swallow a device that gives doctors a clearer view of parts of the colon. "Can this same procedure then be done in a pregnancy? ...

Out of facts? Stick to cats: Examiner's pitiful attempt at dissing RT Post Date: 2015-02-23 07:38:45 by Tatarewicz

RT... For an investigative reporter, the Examiners Julia Davis seems to lack one basic professional skill: fact checking. Or perhaps it's a lack of attention to detail that sees her repeatedly ignoring simple facts, particularly where RT is involved. First, Davis slams Newsweek for parrot[ing] RTs false narrative and misreporting on a new Ukrainian law by erroneously stating that commanders can use force against servicemen who drink alcohol while on duty (in fact the law imposes administrative punishment for alcohol consumption). Theres one problem with that line though never does the RT story in question say such a thing. In fact, ...

Recently uncovered secret tapes from the White House show President John F. Kennedy may have used duplicity when it came to some of his most important accomplishments, including the struggle for civil rights and Cuba, in hopes of winning re-election in 1964, according to The New York Post. One of his most questionable actions, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Patrick Sloyan writes in his new book, "The Politics of Deception" was telling his predecessor, Dwight D. Eisenhower, that he had rejected Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev's demands that American missiles be removed from Turkey in exchange for Soviet weapons being pulled from Cuba. In reality, Kennedy folded against ...
