Local: A Berlin man has become the first in Germany to give birth to a baby. He identifies as male, but has a female reproductive system. The baby boy was born on April 11th this year in a home birth, as hospitals are required to write the name of the mother in their records when a child is born. It was delivered with the help of a midwife in the Neukölln area of Berlin. On government records the new father, who is transgender, is registered as a man. The other night I was invited out for a night with the ‘girls.’ I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, ‘I promise!’ Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily. Aug. 6, 2013 — A new pitfall trap designed to capture bed bugs is more effective than those currently on the market, according to the authors of an article appearing in the next issue of the Journal of Economic Entomology. The authors also found that traps baited with an experimental chemical lure mixture caught 2.2 times as many bed bugs as traps without the lure.
