C2C... LAS VEGAS -- One of the most recent home listings in Las Vegas is a 16,500 square foot home selling for $1.7 million. However, there is one major catch -- the home is underground. The mysterious subterranean home is almost like a time capsule. The east Las Vegas property has been the subject of whispers for many years, but it has never been open to the general public. It's part palace, part bomb shelter. From the street level, the house at 3970 Spencer St. doesn't stand out from its neighbors, but once you cruise through the iron gates, there are clues such as the 15 or so air conditioning units tucked behind boulders, the curious turbine-driven ventilation portals and ...

Henry Kissinger: Balkanized Syria Best Possible Outcome Jurriaan MaessenExplosiveReports.Com June 24, 2013 Former secretary of state eyes breaking up of current-day Syria into “more or less autonomous regions” In a very recent presentation at the Ford School, former secretary of state Henry Kissinger commented on the current Syrian situation, expressing his preference for a broken-up and balkanized Syria to emerge out of the current Assad-controlled unity (from 19 minutes and 30 seconds onward): “There are three possible outcomes. An Assad victory. A Sunni victory. Or an outcome in which the various nationalities agree to co-exist together but in more or less ...

Centralia is a borough and a near ghost town in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States. I watched three "bad men" thugs try to steal a notebook from a guy at a McDonalds several months ago. 3 blacks in their late teens to early 20's,all dressed up in stylish designer hoodlum clothes, with the smallest being about 6 fee tall and skinny. The one with the designer shades snatched the notebook from the only Mexican guy in there (I was the only white guy),and ran for the door. What they didn't know (I found out later) was the little Mexican guy was the cook, and friends with all the 200+ lb black girls that worked there. A couple of these black girls tackled him in the vestibule as he was running out,and had him down on the floor beating the snot out of him before ...

SPRINGFIELD, New Hampshire, August 19 (by Karin Zeitvogel for RIA Novosti) – In a woodland setting on the banks of a New Hampshire lake, the sounds of summer camp waft through the air as counselors sing songs and put on skits, lake water splashes during a morning dip, and – there’s one more added extra – kids take math lessons. But not just any old math instruction, this is math taught the Russian way. Run by the US-based Russian School of Mathematics, the camp offers the usual activities like arts and crafts, theater, archery, making s’mores and singing around a campfire, but also 90 minutes of math every day. The camp was started in 1998 by Russian immigrants ...

Yahoo News...Way back when I was in the dating game, things were a lot simpler: My father would give your father a goat, and the deal was done. Then along came the internet – you know, make a profile, post a picture, lie about your weight, and browse other singles – but even that’s not how it’s done any more. These days, it’s all about apps. Crazy apps that are all racing to sign up new users and helping them, er, “meet.” And the awards go to: Most Popular – Tinder The most popular new dating app right now is Tinder. It shows you Facebook photos of other singles nearby (you set a geographical perimeter of as little as one mile). As each picture ...

The Skolkovo School of Management (MSM) in Moscow has prepared an atlas that lists 100 new and innovative job titles – and 30 disappearing ones. MSM plans to actively disseminate its new atlas at the beginning of the academic year in universities and high schools, to show students the changes that are coming to the labor market. The authors are urging young people to stop coming in crowds to the economic and law faculties. Many of the jobs that are popular today will not be needed in 10 years, with the structure of the labor market changing dramatically. According to Pavel Luksha, professor at Skolkovo MSM and one of the authors of the atlas, one of the most important issues in ...

China Family policy deserves a rethink

BEIJING, Aug. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- The National Health and Family Planning Commission has reiterated that even if the family planning policy were to be adjusted, it would not mean that couples could have a second baby if one of them came from a single-child family. Nevertheless, it's time the authorities weighed the pros and cons of the family planning policy, which was implemented in the late 1970s to check population growth. There is no doubt that unchecked population growth in the 1980s and 1990s would have caused more harm than good to the families as well as to the country, because of the weak national economic foundation and already large population. According to the current ...

Snowden satire - coming solar tsunami

The Internet is ablaze by a ludicrous conspiracy theory that Edward Snowden, a former CIA agent, has predicted series of solar flares, set to occur in September of 2013, will kill hundreds of millions of people. It has been joikingly argued that the documents collected by Snowden offer proof that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) learned about the existing threat 14 years ago. Ever since the world’s governments have been working secretly to be well prepared for what could be termed as "Solar Apocalypse". It is believed that Snowden, speaking from his room at the Sheremetyevo Airport’s hotel, said that the government has been working hard to be well prepared for ...

Swiss vote more than any other country

Swiss citizens have more chances to express their opinions at the ballot box than anyone else in the world, thanks to their extensive system of direct democracy. In most democracies, citizens only turn out to vote for elections – presidential, parliamentary or local. It is the representatives they choose on these occasions who take political decisions on their behalf. That’s indirect democracy. In an indirect democracy it is unusual for citizens to be asked to vote on specific issues. One exception in Europe in recent years has been the decision by a few countries to give citizens a say on European integration. The situation is quite different in Switzerland. Parliamentary ...
