Congress Warns Obama Not to Push Israel for Ceasefire Post Date: 2014-08-01 01:03:26 by Tatarewicz

AntiWar.com Efforts to negotiate a ceasefire in Israels ongoing invasion of the Gaza Strip arent sitting well with Israeli hawks, and by extension that means they arent sitting well with the US Congress. Thats got Congressional officials up in arms, pushing President Obama to stop trying to negotiate a ceasefire in the conflict, and instead to endorse Israels war unconditionally, and irrespective of how bad it gets. Underscoring just how far theyll go, Sen. Mark Kirk (R IL) insisted he was totally comfortable with Israel killing thousands of civilians in the current war if it meant wiping out Hamas, saying it was worth it. Israel is ...

On Dominoes, WMDs And Putin’s “Aggression”: Imperial Washington Is Intoxicated By Another Big Lie Post Date: 2014-07-30 07:07:09 by Ada

Imperial Washington is truly running amuck in its insensible confrontation with Vladimir Putin. The pending round of new sanctions is a counter-productive joke. Apparently, more of Vlads posse will be put on double probation, thereby reducing demand for Harry Macklowes swell new $60 million apartment units on Park Avenue. Likewise, American exporters of high tech oilfield equipment will be shot in the foot with an embargo; and debt-saturated Russian state companies will be denied the opportunity to bury themselves even deeper in dollar debt by borrowing on the New York bond market. Some real wet noodles, these! But it is the larger narrative that is so blatantly ...
Israelis Chant: “There’s No School Tomorrow, There’s No Children Left in Gaza! Post Date: 2014-07-29 12:50:21 by Jethro Tull

Every evening, in Tel Aviv, right wing marchers flood the streets, waving Israeli flags and chanting hate-slogans, such as the most common, death to the Arabs and many others. Often, these are counter-protests to the anti-war demonstrations that have begun since Israels latest onslaught on the Gaza strip, but these are also independent initiatives, which aim to encourage the State of Israel to continue the bombardment with full force. Israeli activists who oppose the war have become the victims of these rallies, as they turn into full-fledged riots. One of the activists testified that after the rally in the video, a few of them started kicking and throwing punches, ...

Why you should care Americas transatlantic alliance, a ballast of international security since World War II, risks losing relevance unless European leaders ante up. Take a taxi in Washington, D.C., and, more likely than not, youll end up in a debate about politics with a cab driver who fancies him or herself the next coming of Bill Maher or Sean Hannity. But thats nothing compared with what some Norwegians experienced one Friday afternoon last August, when a cab ride through their nations capital turned into a discourse on everything from education policy to corporate governance
with their sitting prime minister. As part of a campaign stunt during his Labour ...

SAN ANTONIO Photos showing dozens of members of the militia groups on the U.S.-Mexico border carrying semi-automatic rifles and wearing masks, camouflage and tactical gear provide one of the first glimpses into the group's activities on the border. Members of the militia groups, who say they have 10 active "teams" along the state's southern border, are seen at campsites, walking along the Rio Grande River, pointing rifles and pistols out of frame and flipping off the camera in the photos obtained by the San Antonio Express-News. A spokesperson for the group provided the photos under the condition that members' faces be blurred because of fear of being ...

Dont expect to live much longer European governments and the Western media have put the world at risk by enabling Washingtons propaganda and aggression against Russia. Washington has succeeded in using transparent lies to demonize Russia as a dangerous aggressive country led by a new Hitler or a new Stalin, just as Washington succeeded in demonizing Saddam Hussein in Iraq, the Taliban in Afghanistan, Qaddafi in Libya, Assad in Syria, Chavez in Venezuela, and, of course, Iran. The real demonsClinton, Bush, Obamaare the exceptional and indispensable people above the reach of demonization. Their horrific real crimes go unnoticed, while fictitious crimes ...

Is Putin Worse Than Stalin? Post Date: 2014-07-27 11:51:40 by Deasy

n 1933, the Holodomor was playing out in Ukraine. After the "kulaks," the independent farmers, had been liquidated in the forced collectivization of Soviet agriculture, a genocidal famine was imposed on Ukraine through seizure of her food production. Estimates of the dead range from two to nine million souls. Walter Duranty of the New York Times, who called reports of the famine "malignant propaganda," won a Pulitzer for his mendacity. In November 1933, during the Holodomor, the greatest liberal of them all, FDR, invited Foreign Minister Maxim Litvinov to receive official U.S. recognition of his master Stalin's murderous regime. On August 1, 1991, just four months ...
Plausible MH17 Theory? Post Date: 2014-07-26 13:39:10 by Pinguinite

The Russians claim an Ukrainian Su-25 was tailing MH17 closely just before MH-17 was shot down, at the 31K foot altitude the Su-25 couldn't sustain very long. Perhaps the UK military was using MH-17 as an unwitting shield of sorts, either to ensure that their Su-25 wouldn't be shot at, OR (worse) to goad the separatists into firing a missile which could be then lured toward MH-17. It would also explain the slight redirection by ATC which Kiev has been apparently unwilling to release. A thought...
Mystery bombing running over Ukraine Post Date: 2014-07-26 05:10:46 by Tatarewicz

PressTV... Fighter bombers attacking civilian targets in Eastern Ukraine, flying with Ukrainian Air Force markings, have been traced to air bases in Romania, Moldova and Azerbaijan, armed and some perhaps piloted by Poles and even Israelis. Canadian journalist, Geoffrey West, working with online plane spotting groups has identified combat aircraft flying packages over Ukrainian air space as taking off from NATO and other facilities. What I discovered on Thursday evening using the tracking website
that a number of no call sign flights were detected in the Ukraine/Black Sea region. My friend observed one that appeared to land in Bucharest. I ...

MH17 tragedy shows the risks of the new Great Game
By Lingling Mao, Nottingham Trent University
Since Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down over rebel-held Ukraine, there has been much finger-pointing between Russia, pro-Russian separatists and the Ukrainian government. While the UK and US blame Russia for launching the missile, commentators in the People’s Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese government, claim that Russia is the most unlikely country to be involved in this attack.
China and Russia have a reciprocal relationship when it comes to supporting each other in times of crisis. For example, just earlier this year when China and Vietnam were in dispute over ...

Last month the Finnish Defence Forces put an archive of 160,000 WWII-era photographs online. The images record the war years from 1939 to 1945, spanning three conflicts the Finns recognize as the Winter War (against an invading Soviet Union), the Continuation War (striking against the Soviets alongside the Germans) and the Lapland War (against the Germans for control of Lapland). After spending hours poring through this fascinating archive, I've gathered this collection, just a glimpse of what was made available. A couple of notes on the images -- the swastika was used as the official national marking of the Finnish Air Force and Tank Corps between 1918 and 1945, and all captions were ...

Why hasnt Washington joined Russian President Putin in calling for an objective, non-politicized international investigation by experts of the case of the Malaysian jetliner? The Russian government continues to release facts, including satellite photos showing the presence of Ukrainian Buk anti-aircraft missiles in locations from which the airliner could have been brought down by the missile system and documentation that a Ukrainian SU-25 fighter jet rapidly approached the Malaysian airliner prior to its downing. The head of the Operations Directorate of Russian military headquarters said at a Moscow press conference today (July 21) that the presence of the Ukrainian military jet is ...

Human Rights Watch documents 'sting' operations Report raises questions about post-9/11 civil rights The FBI and other law enforcement agencies attempt to stop terrorist plots before they occur. Photograph: Michael Sohn/AP Nearly all of the highest-profile domestic terrorism plots in the United States since 9/11 featured the "direct involvement" of government agents or informants, a new report says. Some of the controversial "sting" operations "were proposed or led by informants", bordering on entrapment by law enforcement. Yet the courtroom obstacles to proving entrapment are significant, one of the reasons the stings persist. The ...

Poster Comment:A man from Texas was one of at least two Israeli soldiers from the United States to be killed in Gaza this weekend as fighting between Israelis and Palestinians intensified. Sgt. Sean Carmeli, 21, grew up on South Padre Island in the Gulf of Mexico, just off Texas' southernmost tip, a local rabbi told the Los Angeles Times. "He had always a cheerful smile. He was always optimistic about life," said Rabbi Asher Hecht of Chabad of the Rio Grande Valley. Carmeli's Israeli-born parents lived on South Padre Island for more than two decades and built a beach business there, said Hecht, who called himself a close friend of the family. Carmeli began high school at ...

Palestinian fighters say they have killed 15 Israeli soldiers and destroyed three military vehicles in battles against the Tel Aviv regime. In a statement released on Saturday, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said that six were killed after Hamas forces crossed into the southern Israeli region of Eshkol through underground tunnels. "One of our select units, which was made up of 12 fighters, managed to infiltrate into the site in a new and stunning blow," read the statement. Two other infiltration operations are said to have left seven other Israelis dead. Gazan fighters also blew up an Israeli majors vehicle, which killed him. In the city ...
