Rogozin said in an interview with Russia's Izvestia daily newspaper published on Friday that the NATO was pursuing a long-reaching goal of preparing an attack on Iran, adding that the alliance intends to change governments whose views do not coincide with those of the West. "The noose around Iran is tightening. Military planning against Iran is underway. And we are certainly concerned about an escalation of a large-scale war in this huge region," Rogozin added. The Russian envoy further pointed out that Syria and later Yemen could be NATO's last steps on the way to launch an attack on Iran. This comes as there are speculations that Israel is preparing for an attack on ...

(Reuters) - A NATO helicopter crashed in central Afghanistan overnight killing 31 U.S. soldiers and 7 Afghan troops, the Afghan president said on Saturday, a devastating death toll and easily the worst single incident for foreign troops in 10 years of war. A brief statement from the presidential palace said the helicopter had crashed in central Maidan Wardak province, just to the west of the capital, Kabul, and identified the Americans as special forces troops. Afghan President Hamid Karzai "shared his deep sorrow and sadness" with U.S. counterpart Barack Obama and the families of the U.S. and Afghan victims, the statement said. The Taliban claimed to have shot down the ...

The New Yorker has published a story planted on Nicholas Schmidle by unidentified sources who claim to be familiar with the alleged operation that murdered Osama bin Laden. There is no useful information in the story. Its purpose seems simply to explain away or cover up holes in the original story, principally why did the Seals murder an unarmed, unresisting Osama bin Laden whose capture would have resulted in a goldmine of terrorist information and whose show trial would have rescued the governments crumbling 9/11 story? The gullible Schmidle tells us: "There was never any question of detaining or capturing him it wasnt a split-second decision. No one ...
Monsantopoly – A game pitting farmer against farmer that only Monsanto can win! Post Date: 2011-08-05 06:34:29 by Coral Snake

By Barbara H. Peterson Farm Wars Recently Natural News put out an article titled Court rules organic farmers can sue conventional, GMO farmers whose pesticides trespass and contaminate their fields The article puts forth the supposition that this is a good thing, and somehow a victory by organics over Monsanto: The stunning victories of both the Johnsons and Jacobs Farm / Del Cobo against their chemical-polluting neighbors is huge, in that it represents a new set legal precedent for holding conventional, factory farming operations responsible for the damage their systems cause to other farms. And with this new precedent set, many more organic farmers, ...

The US-led military alliance says four American soldiers have been killed amid increasing attacks by militants against foreign forces in Afghanistan. The US-led forces lost their lives in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday, NATO announced. In another incident on the same day, a NATO soldier was killed when a man dressed as an Afghan policeman opened fire on him. On Wednesday two NATO soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing in southern Afghanistan and one other lost his life in a noncombat-related incident in the east of the country. The latest casualties bring to at least 345 the number of US-led troops killed in Afghanistan this year alone. According to official figures, more than ...

The Air Force has suspended decades-old Bible-centric ethics training intended to make Christian officers comfortable with the possible use of nuclear weapons. The training program was given to all new missile officers by Air Force chaplains. "We're in the process of reviewing that training and we'll make a determination whether or not to continue [it] or if it will be a different course," Air Education and Training Command spokesman Dave Smith told Military.com. Smith said the ethics training has been in place more than 20 years, although he didn't know exactly when it was begun. The training slides include quotations from the Bible, portraits of Christian saints, ...
Biden: Tea partiers like 'terrorists' Post Date: 2011-08-01 16:45:53 by Flintlock

Vice President Joe Biden joined House Democrats in lashing tea party Republicans Monday, accusing them of having acted like terrorists in the fight over raising the nations debt limit. Biden was agreeing with a line of argument made by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-Pa.) at a two-hour, closed-door Democratic Caucus meeting. We have negotiated with terrorists, an angry Doyle said, according to sources in the room. This small group of terrorists have made it impossible to spend any money. Biden, driven by his Democratic allies misgivings about the debt-limit deal, responded: They have acted like terrorists, according to several sources in ...

Libya: What America's Media Won't Report - by Stephen Lendman America's media staunchly back all US imperial wars, regurgitating officials lies as truths. Moreover, they never explain their illegality or daily crimes of war and against humanity against civilians, as well as non-military related infrastructure and other sites. Nor do they report how NATO bombing prevents targeted nations (including Libya) from providing essential public services, including enough food, medical care, electricity, fuel, and clean water. Nonetheless, America's led Libya war may have backfired. In Tripoli, Middle East/Central Asian analyst Mahdi Nazemroaya told Progressive Radio News Hour ...

Abdul Fatah Younis Killing: War Death or Assassination? - by Stephen Lendman On July 28, New York Times writer David Kirkpatrick headlined, "Death of Rebel Leader Stirs Fears of Tribal Conflict," saying: The killing of Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) military commander, Gen. Abdul Fatah Younis (Gaddafi's former Interior and Defense Minister) and two other rebel officers, "stirred fears that a tribal feud could divide" anti-Gaddafi forces. On Thursday evening, NTC head Mustafa Abdul Jalil (former Gaddafi Justice Minister) announced it, saying Younis was recalled from Brega to Benghazi for questioning on the war's progress. He suggested ...

Daily NATO War Crimes in Libya - by Stephen Lendman Among them is waging war on truth, Western managed news calling lawless imperial wars liberating ones. No wonder John Pilger says journalism is the first casualty of war, adding: "Not only that: it has become a weapon of war, a virulent censorship (and deception) that goes unrecognised in the United States, Britain and other democracies; censorship by omission, whose power is such that, in war, it can mean the difference between life and death for people in faraway countries...." In their book, "Guardians of Power," David Edwards and David Cromwell explained why today's media are in crisis and a free and open ...

ANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) A suicide bomber hiding explosives in his turban assassinated the mayor of Kandahar on Wednesday, just two weeks after President Hamid Karzai's powerful half brother was slain in the southern province that is critical to the U.S.-led war effort. Mayor Ghulam Haider Hamidi, 65, was the third powerbroker from southern Afghanistan to be killed in just over two weeks, underlining fears of a surge in violence in the wake of the slaying of the president's half brother. The Taliban have claimed responsibility for all three attacks, yet the area is rife with tribal rivalries and criminals and it is not yet certain who is behind the trio of killings. Ahmed ...

The Oslo Attacks: More False Flag Evidence - by Stephen Lendman The memorable line from Gilbert & Sullivan's HMS Pinafore explains what's so often true, saying: "Things are seldom as they seem. Skim milk masquerades as cream." With considerable mass media help, especially America's, misinformation diverts public attention from vital truths, playing their usual gatekeeper role, providing fiction and irrelevancies, not fact. For example, initial reports cited Islamic militants, naming Ansar al-Jihad al-Alami (aka Helpers of the Global Jihad), though no one knows if the group actually exists. On July 22, New York Times writers Elisa Mala and J. David Goodman ...

The emerging profile of Anders Behring Breivik is not what was first expected. On Friday, President Obama and the mainstream media immediately jumped on the murder of 92 people in Norway to affirm the war on terrors importance. Putting aside the establishments tendency to cite both failures and presumed successes, both acts of mass violence that came to fruition and ones that were preempted, as vindication of the war on terror, we should note that the administration was politicizing an atrocity in the only way that it is ever considered appropriate: The state can respectably pat its soldiers and enforcers on the back for their waging wars and bashing heads; all other political ...

By its lack of coverage, isnt the press thus helping perpetuate an endless war? By John Hanrahan hanrahan@niemanwatchdog.org Antiwar activists repeatedly stage dramatic acts of civil disobedience in the United States but are almost entirely ignored by mainstream print and broadcast news organizations. During the Vietnam era, press coverage of the fighting and opposition to it at home helped turn public opinion ...

The Oslo Attacks: Comment and Analysis - by Stephen Lendman What to make of them is at issue. Many questions are unanswered. Are they similar to previous European and US post-9/11 attacks? Was a single individual responsible or were others unnamed or not known involved? Was it homegrown and/or outside inspired, despite what's been reported? And why Norway, an unlikely target despite its NATO membership, token participation in Afghanistan, and Libya operations it scaled back and will end entirely by August 1. Last May, in fact, Defense Minister Grete Faremo told Norway's Parliament that despite taking part in NATO air attacks (dropping 289 bombs): "There is no military ...

It is too early to say who is responsible for the bombing of government buildings in Oslo, Norway, that killed at least two people and injured several others. The media is instinctively blaming al-Qaeda, but there is another possible culprit Mullah Krekar and his Kurdish Islamist group Ansar al-Islam. On July 12, it was reported that a Norwegian prosecutor filed terror charges against the Iraqi-born cleric Krekar after he allegedly threatened Norwegian politicians with death if hes deported from the country. Krekar went to Norway in 1991 as a refugee from northern Iraq. Authorities from the Kurdistan regional government have repeatedly asked Norway to extradited Krekar for ...
