Next Step for Tight Security Could be Trains, Boats, Metro: [Road travel will be next. Surely by now everyone must know that security against terrorism is primarily an excuse for setting up a system to monitor the movement of all citizens.] By Jordy Yager 11/23/10 Editor's note: This story and its headline have been clarified to show that the Department of Homeland Security has not indicated it plans to use body scanners to tighten security at transportation sites beyond airports. The next step in tightened security could be on U.S. public transportation, trains and boats. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano says terrorists will continue to look for U.S. vulnerabilities, ...

During the Vietnam War, Martin Luther King called our government the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today. True thenand even more so today. A few years before that, in 1964 Mario Savio made his great speech at Berkeley; at the end he says, There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you cant take part; you cant even passively take part, and youve got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and youve got to make it stop. And youve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless ...

The 'Good War' Myth of World War Two By Mark Weber World War II was not only the greatest military conflict in history, it was also America's most important twentieth-century war. It brought profound and permanent social, governmental and cultural changes in the United States, and has had a great impact on how Americans regard themselves and their countrys place in the world. This global clash -- with the United States and the other Allies on one side, and Nazi Germany, imperialist Japan and the other Axis countries on the other -- is routinely portrayed in the US as the good war, a morally clear-cut conflict between Good and Evil. / ...

A military convoy attempted to stop the man, who they spotted driving a vehicle at high speed on an airport road, Col. Barry Johnson said. "The vehicle was perceived as a threat and a decision was made to engage it with small-arms fire in order to stop it and to protect the convoy from a possible attack," Johnson said. The driver did not respond to U.S. hand signals before troops opened fire, he said. Baghdad police said the man was an engineer working at the airport. ...

Pakistan militants escape attack by US drone Published Date: 29 November 2010 By RASOOL DAWAR The targets of a suspected United States missile attack in Pakistan's north-west militant strongholds appeared to have survived yesterday by quickly abandoning their vehicle after a drone aircraft missed its first shot, local officials said. It was one of the few reports of anyone surviving one of the escalating barrage of missiles fired by unmanned aircraft, which have become a key weapon in the wider war against Islamist militants in Afghanistan. Pakistani television initially reported four people killed in the latest American attack in North Waziristan, where Taleban and al-Qaeda allies ...

FBI stopped Portland bomb suspect from taking job before sting By Daniel Tencer Sunday, November 28th, 2010 -- 12:10 pm Stumble This! 130 Share 1digg digg Though it's a controversial assertion, observers often point to a link between acts of terrorism and poverty. In the case of Mohamed Osman Mohamud, the 19-year-old arrested Friday for allegedly trying to blow up an Oregon Christmas tree lighting ceremony, the FBI itself may have created that link. According to the New York Times, the FBI placed Mohamud on a terror watch list, making it impossible for the young man to fly to Alaska to take a summer job. It was only after Mohamud was blocked from taking the job in June of this ...

Chinese Missiles Strike Boston Harbor: WWIII Imminent Breaking News: Battleships from The Peoples Republic of China, and it's North Korean partners have commenced live-fire artillery drills aiming high-explosive missiles into the waters of Boston Harbor. They have assured the Pentagon and the White House that this is simply a training exercise, and the artillery barrage should not be misunderstood as a provocation or act-of-war. President Obama and the Pentagon have promised a forceful and rapid military response. Yes - this "breaking news" is fictional, but it mirrors exactly what is really happening right now in the oceans off North Korea and China. America and it's ...

Imperial America's End Time - by Stephen Lendman Noted analysts on both left and right see America's empire in decline. In his 2009 book, "Global Depression and Regional Wars," James Petras said: "All the idols of capitalism over the past three decades have crashed. The assumptions and presumptions, paradigms and prognosis of indefinite progress under liberal free market capitalism have been tested and have failed. We are living the end of an entire epoch (and are bearing witness to) the collapse of the US and world financial system," and with it America's empire. On August 16, Paul Craig Roberts headlined his article, "The Ecstacy of Empire: How ...

I have been following the alleged Wiki-Leaks revelations and speculations with growing interest. It is not so much what is being revealed that is telling but what is NOT being revealed by the "supposed" leaks. Early on I began suspecting that this is a disinformation operation because of a couple of telltales. Most notably was that the "leaked" information tended to reinforce several key U.S. Government disinformation lines e.g., that Iran is supporting opposition and insurgency in Iraq, and the omission of certain types of information such as U.S. involvement in Black Site Torture, and the presence of Israeli Nationals, of which we have photos, at Abu Ghraib ...

The US is seeking a pretext to wage war on North Korea. North Korea is said to constitute a threat to Global Security. From the Truman Doctrine to Obama. The history of the 1950s Korean confirms that extensive war crimes were committed against the Korean people. As confirmed by the statement of General Curtis Lemay: "Over a period of three years or so we killed off - what - twenty percent of the population." North Korea lost thirty percent of its population as a result of US led ...

In every war that we've publicly known about the American Public was conned into believing that it was always "the right thing and the ONLY thing to do." Fifty years after the fact when the archives were unsealed we finally discovered in each and every instance the United States lied to the people of this nation-just to have the illegal and unnecessary wars in which hundreds of millions of people died. War Is A Racket From WWI through WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the undeclared preemptive strike by GWH Bush in Panama, all the way through the 1991 Iraq War, to the attack on Afghanistan and then back to the war that never really stopped in Iraq, this time under Junior's ...

By Chris Bollyn, www.bollyn.com November 25, 2010 OBAMA'S CASUALTIES More than seventy-one percent of all U.S. wounded (9,256) from the 9-year-old war in Afghanistan have occurred in the 22 months since President Barack Obama became Commander in Chief on January 20, 2009. Some 6,566 Americans have been wounded since Obama began his ill-advised surge in February 2009. Is this the change Americans wanted when they voted for Barack Obama? Nearly 600 americans have been wounded in Afghanistan every month since June 2010. As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama called for a greater focus on the war in Afghanistan and a troop "surge". During his first month in office Obama ...

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- FedEx is searching for radioactive rods used for medical equipment that went missing during shipment between North Dakota and Tennessee. Memphis-based FedEx spokeswoman Sandra Munoz said Friday the rods are used for quality control purposes for CT scans. She says the rods were likely misplaced and there's no indication the material was stolen. She says the shipment was from Fargo, N.D., to Knoxville, Tenn., this week and the rods are in a metal cylinder that is about 10 inches tall and weighs about 20 pounds. Munoz says as long as no one tries to open the metal container, the rods do not pose a danger.

Rothbard Libertarian Review, August 1977, pp. 1012 The July issue of Reason has a new format, which improves the layout of the publication. But what about the content? Unfortunately, on that ground, the new Reason seems to be worse than the old. Let us examine some of the articles in Reason's July issue to see what they are all about. First, one John Kizer attacks Thomas Szasz's libertarian denunciation of involuntary mental hospitalization. Kizer analogizes that just as the unconscious victim of an auto wreck can ...

At the time, evidence suggested a false flag, manufactured to blame the North. The incident occurred near Baengnyeong Island opposite North Korea. US Navy Seals and four US ships were ...

Veteran's essay on killing November 21, 2010 The following is the essay that Iraq war veteran Charles Whittington wrote for his English class at the Community College of Baltimore County. It was published in the campus newspaper Oct. 26: War is a drug. When soldiers enter the military from day one, they begin to train and are brain washed to fight and to handle situations in battle. We train and train for combat, and then when we actually go to war, it is reality and worse than what we have trained for. We suffer through different kinds of situations. The Army never taught how to deal with our stress and addictions. War is a drug because when soldiers are in the Infantry, like me, ...
