TEHRAN (FNA)- A Russian media outlet reported on Sunday that the Syrian Army's anti-aircraft units have been recently equipped with a modern system that has reinvigorated security of Damascus' airspace. The Arabic-language website of Sputnik reported that the Syrian army has been equipped with a modern anti-aircraft system known as Virba shoulder-launched surface-to-air missiles to target enemy flying objects in low altitude in Damascus. The website went on to say that the Virba system is equipped with an automatic control system that can identify flying objects and specify their flight path and altitude. A guided warhead working with ultra violet ray has been mounted on the ...
America Has No Enemies Post Date: 2017-08-06 10:08:45 by Ada

America as a people has no enemies, none: not North Korea, not Iran, not Russia and not China. Our government says these are enemies, but they are not. Their forces are not bent on attacking us. They are not preparing to attack us, anymore than Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Somalia and Yemen were preparing to attack us. None of these countries began a war against us; but in one way or another the government claimed to see enemies and inserted our country into new battles and wars in these places. We must stop supporting the government when it invokes national security in situations where national security is not anywhere near being at stake. We should stop supporting our ...
US Generals Want to Extend Our Longest War Post Date: 2017-08-05 08:04:30 by Ada

Media reports claim President Donald Trump let loose on his generals behind closed doors, blasting them royally for their startling failures in Afghanistan, Americas longest war. The president has many faults and is a lousy judge of character. But he was absolutely right to read the riot act to the military brass for daring to ask for a very large troop and budget increase for the stalemated Afghan War that has cost $1 trillion to date. Of course, the unfortunate generals are not really to blame. They have been forced by the last three presidents to fight a pointless war at the top of the world that lacks any strategy, reason or purpose and with limited forces. But they ...
The Most Underreported World Stories So Far This Year Post Date: 2017-08-04 08:22:45 by Ada

Watch the various television and cable news shows, and one will be exposed to multiple reports ofthe exact same story. Day after day, night after night: the national mainstream news media regurgitates the same news stories to the American people. Its the same song sung by a different singer; but its the same song. If you dont believe that, start channel surfing the newscasts instead of watching just one network. You will hear the same stories repeated over and over again by all of the different newscasters. Wake up, folks! You are being programmed and propagandized. I have repeatedly said: the real problem with Americas news media (and churches) is not what ...
White House Looks at Afghanistan Pullout as an Option Post Date: 2017-08-01 16:54:40 by Ada

Military Objects to Proposed Pullout as Not Meeting War Goals After months of the Pentagon failing to sell a concrete plan of escalation to the White House, officials now say that the administration is considering getting back on track with a drawdown headed for a full pullout from the country after 16 years. This is happening for the same reason the Pentagon hasnt been able to sell the escalations, that a number of officials are unconvinced that the escalation is going to accomplish anything, and that they dont think theres a clear strategy for victory. The Pentagon was more or less uniform in arguing escalations, albeit of varying sizes, and are said to be objecting ...

Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said Tuesday that President Trump has indicated to him that the administration is prepared to strike North Korea to prevent an attack against the U.S."There is a military option to destroy North Korea's program and North Korea itself," Graham said on NBC about potential plans to respond to North Korea's increasingly offensive posture. "If there's going to be a war to stop him [Kim Jong Un], it will be over there. If thousands die, they're going to die over there, they're not going to die here and he's [Trump] told me that to my ...
America at war since 9/11 Reality or reality TV? Post Date: 2017-08-01 06:50:12 by Tatarewicz

Le Monde diplomatique The headlines arrive in my inbox day after day: U.S.-led airstrikes in Syria killed hundreds of civilians, U.N. panel says. Pentagon wants to declare more parts of world as temporary battlefields. The U.S. was supposed to leave Afghanistan by 2017. Now it might take decades. There are so many wars and rumors of war involving our country these days that it starts to feel a little unreal, even for the most devoted of news watchers. And for many Americans, its long been that way. For them, the meaning of war is closer to reality TV than it is to reality. On a June day, you could, for instance, open the New York Times and read ...

President Trump: The only America First Afghan policy is to get out of Afghanistan Post Date: 2017-07-28 17:51:50 by Ada

Just when you think that you have heard all of the asinine ideas possible about U.S. involvement in Afghanistan, out comes one that is so hideously ridiculous that you must assume the authors are demented and writing from a well-secured asylum. The quote below comes from an article about the future of U.S. involvement in Afghanistan that was in the USA Today Network on 14 July 2017. The article discusses several U.S. options in Afghanistan, but the one that takes the cake is the brainchild of two champions of the war in Iraq, who as Tucker Carlson correctly said about Max Boot can be relied on to propose ideas that will start unnecessary and always losing wars for the ...

Murder Of Green Berets In Jordan Exposed Secretive CIA Syria Program Details Post Date: 2017-07-19 13:03:37 by Ada

"The Jordanian government had a strong incentive to gloss over the murders of the three Green Berets. Likewise, the CIA was scared of potential blowback and the exposing of their covert program," says investigative journalist Jack Murphy, himself an Army special forces veteran. A premeditated green-on-blue attack in Jordan outside of King Faisal Air Base (at al-Jafr in Southern Jordan) late last year resulted in the deaths of three elite US Green Berets in what the media initially dubbed a mere unfortunate gate incident and what the Jordanian government dismissed as a "a tragic accident devoid of any terrorist motives". But the whole event and subsequent attempts at ...
With New D.C. Policy Group, Dems Continue to Rehabilitate and Unify With Bush-Era Neocons Post Date: 2017-07-18 05:45:34 by Ada

ONE OF THE most under-discussed yet consequential changes in the American political landscape is the reunion between the Democratic Party and the countrys most extreme and discredited neocons. While the rise of Donald Trump, whom neocons loathe, has accelerated this realignment, it began long before the ascension of Trump and is driven by far more common beliefs than contempt for the current president. A newly formed and, by all appearances, well-funded national security advocacy group, devoted to more hawkish U.S. policies toward Russia and other adversaries, provides the most vivid evidence yet of this alliance. Calling itself the Alliance for Securing Democracy, the group ...
Syria - THE ART OF THE CEASE FIRE DEAL Post Date: 2017-07-18 04:10:58 by Tatarewicz

Syper... Many of my readers were disappointed with the pattern of truces emerging after the Syrian Army had successfully laid sieges to towns and cities occupied by the terrorist groups supported by the United States, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the U.K. and NATO. As these cease-fires started to proliferate, ordinary citizens began to return to their homes and to celebrate the expulsion of these nihilist devil worshipers. Today, the U.N. confirms that over half a million refugees from Lebanon have returned to their homes in Al-Zabadaani, Madhaayaa, Al-Qusayr and Al-Waer, to name but a few areas liberated through cease-fire agreements. But, these truces have an underlying logic not lost on ...

It is not Macrons business who is the Syrian president, but it is good that he thinks eliminating the terrorist threat is more important than ousting Bashar Assad in a regime change, says Lew Rockwell, editor of LewRockwell.com. Hezbollah Helped Save Syria From Complete Destruction — And We Should All Be Thankful Post Date: 2017-07-16 06:56:50 by Ada

Those who defended Syria from the real terrorists are now being vilified by the west One of the key participants in the Syrian conflict, Hezbollah, is also one of the most overlooked players in the region. Since the start of the civil war, Hezbollah has played a key role both militarily and politically, in order to protect Syria and it government from outside meddlers and illegal foreign interventions. Hezbollah is a predominantly Shia Muslim political party in Lebanon, which boasts one of the strongest militaries in the Middle East. Hezbollah is not new to military success; in 2006 the Israeli army was swiftly defeated in under two months and was expelled from south Lebanon. Since the ...

White House Complains Legal Restrictions Are Hampering 'Temporary' Sites The White House has issued a statement this week calling on Congress to grant President Trump unilateral legal authority to open new military bases in both Iraq and Syria, as well as to renovate existing facilities. Officials say the bases would be purely temporary in nature. What temporary actually means however is unclear, particularly in Iraq where the Pentagon has been very public about the idea that they intend to keep US ground troops in Iraq more or less forever. Those bases, then, are going to be open-ended facilities for an open-ended mission. The White House says that the current lack ...

During the time that U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis and National Security Adviser H. R. McMaster are reviewing the U.S. military policy in Afghanistan, The New York Times ran a story on July 10, 2017 that exposed a threat that will upend U.S. defense strategy and return it to a bitter past. The Times story was centered around the following paragraph: «Erik D. Prince, a founder of the private security firm Blackwater Worldwide, and Stephen A. Feinberg, a billionaire financier who owns the giant military contractor DynCorp International, have developed proposals to rely on contractors instead of American troops in Afghanistan at the behest of Stephen K. Bannon, Mr. Trumps ...
