The 5 Biggest Threats To America's Future Success [With thinking like this...]

The 5 Biggest Threats To America's Future Success John Hawkins Douglas MacArthur once said that, "Old soldiers never die; they just fade away." As it is with old soldiers, so it goes with nations. When you watch "end of the world" movies on TV, America may be overrun by zombies, hit by asteroids, destroyed by aliens, annihilated by a climate gone mad -- and so it may be. However, the history books teach another lesson. For the most part, great nations do not usually disappear; they become progressively weaker, more decadent, less flexible, and slowly, almost imperceptibly decline until some great event comes along that lays bare their newly vulnerable condition ...

Saving Face in Unwinnable War Sinking in debt and no closer to victory, heads may roll as the U.S. and NATO wrap up their pointless Afghan adventure

Saving Face in Unwinnable War Sinking in debt and no closer to victory, heads may roll as the U.S. and NATO wrap up their pointless Afghan adventure by Eric Margolis Fire-breathing U.S. Gen. Stanley McChrystal and his Special Forces "mafia" were supposed to crush Afghan resistance to western occupation. But McChrystal was fired after rude remarks from his staff about the White House. A more cerebral and political general, David Petraeus, replaced McChrystal. Petraeus managed to temporarily suppress resistance in Iraq. Last week, the usually cautious Petraeus vowed from Kabul to "win" the Afghan War, which has cost the U.S. nearly $300 billion to date and 1,000 dead. ...

Is Racial Purism Decadent?

“Those who talk too much about race no longer have it in them.” —Oswald Spengler Recently I spent a good deal of time re-reading the great Oswald Spengler: for general enlightenment, but also with an eye to criticizing his teachings about race, which seemed at first reading confused, bizarre, and dangerous. Much to my surprise, however, I have come to see much sense and truth in Spengler’s views. Biological Race Although Spengler speaks dismissively of Darwinism, he does not deny that race is a biological phenomenon. For Spengler, races are extended families, people who share the same “blood” (i.e., genes). Spengler even speaks of a race as a vast ...

Back in March, Patrick J. Buchanan wrote a piece titled, “Free Trade’s Disemboweling of America,” where he discusses what has happened to the United States since Y2K. In his article he discusses George Herbert Walker Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and how all three were globalists and all three rejected any federal measure to protect America’s industrial base, economic independence or the wages of U.S. workers. They rammed through NAFTA, brought America under the World Trade Organization, abolished tariffs and granted Chinese-made goods unrestricted access. Once upon a time everything we used was invented, manufactured and sold in America by Americans. The raw ...

Desperate, deluded dupes give half million dollars to socialist Ariz. gov. to defend a law that's not even Constitutionally necessary

Jan Brewer insured that 'child protective services' workers (aka baby stealers) were completely exempt from complying with SB1070. Brewer, who insisted & won a 3 billion dollar tax increase in Arizona to allegedly prevent people from dying, could arrest, id, & deport illegals today, despite 1070 not taking effect until july 29th. The U.S. supreme court ruled decades ago that states are within their rights to enforce federal immigration law. Arizona police came out on record 5 years ago officially opposing police enforcement of immigration law. nothing has now, today, or ever prevented cops in any state from IDing aliens or deporting them. the pigs, along with the governors ...

After a decade in sober America ... is everyone in Britain drunk?

When I came home from America a year ago from my post as the BBC's North America correspondent, I wasn't expecting life in Britain to be easy to get used to again. I knew that valet parking - handing your keys to a man outside a restaurant and getting the car driven to the door when you leave - would soon be a distant memory. I knew that Downing Street was as shabby as the White House is chic. Public drunkenness: A reveller sleeps across several train seats after a night spent out on the lash in London But nothing prepared me for the booze. Sometimes it seems as if everyone here is drunk. Now here I should add an important proviso: perhaps it is me that has changed, not my ...

The tipping point in public support for America's war in Afghanistan may end up being a statement last week by Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele. He blurted out that the war in Afghanistan was "a war of Obama's choosing" and "not something the United States had actively prosecuted or wanted to engage in." Actually, President George W. Bush started the war in 2001, originally to go after Osama bin Laden and other terrorists after the 9/11 attacks. The effort expanded to become yet another unwise American nation-building operation that has been disastrous and deadly. President Barack Obama, however, has expanded the war in Afghanistan and even ...

Lilienthal, who died two years ago, knew what he was talking about. He explained that the Zionist cabal controlling the American media had only one mantra to ...

One area of law that i've always been interested in is consumer protection. Not being an anarchist, i do believe that some laws governing society are appropriate & necessary. The most common place i see grift & theft is the retail outlet. The dept. of weights & measures governs accuracy in pricing. if a store lists a price at $1.39, then they damn well BETTER not ring it up at $1.49 at checkout. 'ah, why make a scene about a dime, just CROWCH DOWN AND PAY IT AND SHUT UP.' No, F you. if i tried to steal an item without paying for it i'd be arrested. these corporate structures better obey the pricing laws & stop trying to purposely rip people off. And don't ...

The “Smart” State: Progressivism, Part II (Not very smart, actually)

Modern Progressives love the term “smart” to describe their approach to everything from zoning to energy. For them, attempts to expand the role of the State are smart, which means free markets must be “stupid.” By the late nineteenth century, Progressives believed that scientific knowledge was so advanced that “experts” could govern American society better than corrupt politicians and business owners. Well-intentioned experts could direct economic activity in a “rational” way. Although many Progressives did not openly embrace socialism, they believed that a market economy left to its own devices would lead to chaos and monopoly. To combat this ...

When I recently criticized an editorial cartoonist for slamming libertarians — he said a libertarian “lifeguard” would let everyone drown — he wrote back claiming that libertarians would abolish numerous federal departments and agencies, like the Department of Education and even the Federal Reserve. In other words, the cartoonist repeated the litany of Progressivism that we have heard all our lives. Like most Americans who took an American history course or two, I was told that the late nineteenth century was a time of rapacious monopolies and growing poverty. Businesses like Standard Oil were strangling the American economy and individual Americans, giving them unsafe ...

Use World Currency to Renounce the Debt!

Use World Currency to Renounce the Debt! July 5, 2010 In upcoming years, cities, states & nations will have one overwhelming choice: 1. Renounce all debt created by bankers out of nothing, or due to compound interest. This is probably 50-80% of all government debt. 2. Or accept the unbearable burden and be willing accomplices in our enslavement and destruction. The central banking cartel wants a one-world currency. We keep seeing reminders. For example, today we read, "The dollar is an unreliable international currency and should be replaced by a more stable system, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs said in a report released Tuesday." ...

a new topic at LP reveals that site moderator 'goldi-lox' posted a thread about Rumsfeld's annoucement on 9/10/01 that trillions were 'missing' from the pentagon budget. i assumed this was common knowledge, but apparently goldi-lox just found out about it today. she appears flabbergasted, and is questioning EVERYTHING about 9/11; asking things such as 'was anything we were told TRUE?' 'WAS ANY OF IT REAL?' She then goes on to deride our lack of freedoms as a result of 9/11 and questions if 'international bankers' were involved. great stuff. :-)

Compromise, Principles, and Politics - Unity in Defense of Freedom Cannot Be Achieved When Some Intend to Violate Others' Rights

“Public servants” laud compromise as a principled and sensible political course. They call it statesmanship or bipartisanship, and portray it as the path to unity, while roundly criticizing those unwilling to compromise in the desired way. This appeal often strikes a chord with the public. (Leave aside that compromise is usually sought by legislative near-majorities that intend for others to move toward them, rather than the other way around.) Political reality reveals that the unity argument is a sham. The diametrically opposed things people want government to do guarantees disunity. America cannot be unified about government powers that some consider essential but others reject ...

'How can they tax me for trying to be pretty?'

New Yorkers who smoke and tan were twice burned yesterday. With both the federal 10 percent tanning tax and the new $1.60 per-pack state surcharge on cigarettes now in effect, those addicted to nicotine and UV rays fear they may have to choose between bronzed skin and blackened lungs. "How can they tax me for trying to be pretty?" said Jenna Goldschmidt, 19, an FIT student who tans three times a week and smokes a half-pack a day. "I am going to have to cut one or the two, or I will have to switch off. One week tan, one week smoke," she said. The new sin taxes will add $30 to her monthly cigarette budget and $40 to her tanning costs. "Everyone likes to look ...

Treachery In The Gulf

What has happened in the Gulf of Mexico was not by accident. It was most likely a design to support an agenda. What that agenda is we do not know exactly but I will try to connect the dots. We may soon know the true extent of its nature by the "solutions" our government imposes on the people in the Gulf area. There are some major problems: The Obama administration allowed BP to drill at an unstable site (highly over pressured) in 5,000 feet of water; BP CEO Tony Hayward dumped his BP stock 2 months before the spill; The well was kicking since they drilled into the production zone, so the drilling fluid or mud was underbalanced (mud weight not quite heavy enough for the upward ...

Race humor: forbidden? How you experienced racial differences growing up

in another thread, the subject of race came up & how some people are so overly sensitive to the matter. i grew up in a town where, in the late 70's, during the miniseries ROOTS, blacks actually rioted at the public high school. my older blonde haired sister, who had a white car no less, was jumped. about 15 of them jumped on her gremlin screaching something or other about 'whitey'. Thank God my brother was a jock & the only white kid on the basketball team. he was also a brawler, so when one of the niggers said 'hey, that's white boy's sister', they relented & exited the top of her white vehicle. Another time, i had a lemonade/candy stand outside the ...

An Industry Insider's View of the BP Oil Spill. NOT A GOOD CONCLUSION FOR THE GULF

OK let's get real about the GOM oil flow. There doesn't really seem to be much info on TOD that furthers more complete understanding of what's really happening in the GOM. As you have probably seen and maybe feel yourselves, there are several things that do not appear to make sense regarding the actions of attack against the well. Don't feel bad, there is much that doesn't make sense even to professionals unless you take into account some important variables that we are not being told about. There seems to me to be a reluctance to face what cannot be termed anything less than grim circumstances in my opinion. There certainly is a reluctance to inform us regular people ...

Sticking the Public With the Bill for the Bankers’ Crisis by Naomi Klein My city feels like a crime scene and the criminals are all melting into the night, fleeing the scene. No, I’m not talking about the kids in black who smashed windows and burned cop cars on Saturday. I’m talking about the heads of state who, on Sunday night, smashed social safety nets and burned good jobs in the middle of a recession. Faced with the effects of a crisis created by the world's wealthiest and most privileged strata, they decided to stick the poorest and most vulnerable people in their countries with the bill. How else can we interpret the G20’s final communiqué, which ...

The GOP's Genetic Link to Big Oil by Jim Hightower If scientists were to compare the DNA of Republican congress-critters and of oil corporations, I'll bet they'd find that they match perfectly. After all, the two species have identical political instincts and seem to have a natural affinity for each other — so I'm pretty sure they sprang from the same genetic pool. How else can you explain the remarkable gusher of compassion that Republican lawmakers are presently directing toward Big Oil in general and BP in particular? For example, only hours after winning his party's nomination for a Kentucky Senate seat, GOP teabag darling Rand Paul was on national TV ...
