Waco and the Bipartisan Police State (Clinton, Bush and now Obama)

Every year around this time, I find it worthwhile to reflect on the siege at Mt. Carmel, just outside of Waco, Texas, which began on February 28, 1993, when an ATF publicity stunt went awry, and ended 51 days later on April 19 with about 80 civilians killed. Waco is still important, because it illustrates the violent nature of the state, the fact that political power flows from the barrel of a gun, and the scary truth that the U.S. government is ultimately no different from all others in this respect. Many people, including many libertarians, would just as soon forget the debacle. But we must remember. Thirteen years ago the federal government of the United States ended its altercation ...

Waco, Oklahoma City, and the Post-9/11 Left-Right Dynamic

Ten years ago, on April 19, 1995, the largest terrorist attack in U.S. history on American soil occurred when an explosion brought down the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City and snuffed out the lives of 168 individuals, including nineteen children. After the initial shock, the political implications began to surface. Clinton implicitly blamed the attack on right-wing talk radio and its "purveyors of hate and division," and many left-liberal pundits echoed the same line. Reactionary anti-Clintonism – opposition to the gun grabbing, the social engineering, and the taxing and spending of the Clinton regime – was the root cause of the Oklahoma massacre, we ...

War is the Health of the State

To most Americans of the classes which consider themselves significant the war [World War I] brought a sense of the sanctity of the State which, if they had had time to think about it, would have seemed a sudden and surprising alteration in their habits of thought. In times of peace, we usually ignore the State in favour of partisan political controversies, or personal struggles for office, or the pursuit of party policies. It is the Government rather than the State with which the politically minded are concerned. The State is reduced to a shadowy emblem which comes to consciousness only on occasions of patriotic holiday. Government is obviously composed of common and unsanctified men, and ...

War is the health of the State.”Those famous words are contained in Randolph Bourne’s essay “The State,” written in response to America’s participation in World War I, but left unfinished because of his death from influenza in 1918. In the introduction to War and the Intellectuals: Collected Essays 1915–1919—an anthology of Bourne’s writings—editor Carl Resek explains the phrase: “In its proper place it meant that mindless power thrived on war because war corrupted a nation’s moral fabric and especially corrupted its intellectuals.” Those seven words contain a complexity of meaning that is often overlooked by those who use them. ...

He is a commentator for TV One Cable Network and host of a one-hour Sunday morning news show. (CNN) -- Civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer made famous the phrase, "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired." For me, I'm sick and tired of Democrats having power and being unwilling to use it. I've always respected Republicans when they had power because they were willing to use it ...

India gives cold shoulder to global warming zealots

The rush to impose Draconian, costly regulations to fight global warming is based on allegedly "settled science" showing manmade greenhouse gases increase temperatures. This belief system's high priests at the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have issued successive reports trumpeting the danger, concluding that we must act immediately. But the science never was settled. There have been increasing contrary findings, and revelations that warming zealots may have rigged the data, suppressed dissenting views and committed grand blunders to advance their agenda. In 1997 the U.S. Senate rejected 95-0 the Kyoto Protocol treaty's drastic emission mandates. ...

A funny thing happened after Adm. Mike Mullen called for gay men and lesbians to serve openly in the military: A curious silence befell much of the right. If this were a Sherlock Holmes story, it would be the case of the attack dogs that did not bark. John McCain, commandeering the spotlight as usual, did fulminate against the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell.” But the press focus on McCain, the crazy man in Washington’s attic, was misleading. His yapping was an exception, not the rule. Many of his Republican colleagues said little or nothing. The right’s noise machine was on mute. The Fox News report on Mullen’s testimony was fair and balanced — ...

Yemeni scholar backs 'jet bomber' Awlaki has been linked to numerous attacks including the November US military base shootings [EPA] Sheikh Anwar Awlaki, a Yemeni religious scholar, has told Al Jazeera that the suspect accused of attempting to blow up a US passenger jet on Christmas Day, was one of his students. Awlaki said that he did not order the attempted suicide attack on the airliner, but that US civilians were legitimate targets since they bore responsibility for their "government's crimes". "Omar Farouq, may Allah free him, is one of my students ... But I did not issue a fatwa [religious edict] allowing him to carry out this operation," the ...

BIG OIL BEHIND HAITI QUAKE?

BIG OIL BEHIND HAITI QUAKE? By Victor Thorn Did American petroleum companies murder hundreds of thousands of Haitians while extracting oil from their shores? In an exclusive Jan. 28 interview, social commentator and human rights attorney Ezili Danto believes “hydraulic fracturing” caused by drillers searching for oil may have caused the Jan. 12 earthquake. Yes, oil is Haiti’s smoking gun. Why do you think 20,000 American troops now occupy and control this impoverished nation? On Jan. 28, 2009, geologist Daniel Mathurin revealed, “Haiti’s oil reserves are larger than those of Venezuela. An Olympic pool compared to a glass of water is the comparison.” ...

It's a slow day in some little town. The sun is hot....the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit. On this particular day a rich tourist from back west is driving thru town. He stops at the motel and lays a $100 bill on the desk saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the night. As soon as the man walks upstairs, the owner grabs the bill and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher. The butcher takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill at the feed store. The guy at the Farmer's Co-op takes ...

Legendary author of hundreds of books and pamphlets demolishing the lies of warmaking mainstream media, historian Eustace Mullins died Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the home of his caretaker in a small town in Texas. Mullins, who would have been 87 in March, suffered a stroke three weeks ago in Columbus, Ohio. He had been on an extended tour of his admirers for much of the past year, visiting and chatting with many of his thousands of fans who jumped at the chance to buy his books from him in person. The author of such incendiary books as “Secrets of the Federal Reserve,” “Murder by Injection,” and “The Curse of Canaan,” Mullins was harrassed by the FBI for almost a ...

Child Slavery in Haiti - by Stephen Lendman In November 1989, the UN General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child, recognizing "that in all countries in the world, there are children living in exceptionally difficult conditions, and that such children need special consideration." Then in May 2000, the General Assembly adopted an Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography. In 1990, the UN Commission on Human Rights appointed a Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography with a mandate to investigate the problem and submit reports to ...

13 Careers for the Next Decade

We offer a baker's dozen of professions that promise income growth, work-life balance and social impact. Few decisions are more important than choosing a career. And especially in these uncertain and changing times, no decision may be more difficult. U.S. companies, saddled with increasingly onerous costs of employing people, are downsizing, cutting employees' hours, hiring temps, automating jobs and sending work offshore. Meanwhile, technology is redefining existing jobs and demanding new skills from an aging workforce, and new competition for jobs looms in the form of 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants likely to get legalized in the years ahead. Perhaps most potent, the U.S. is ...

Japan, China, Russia and WWIII: Dead Man Musings

As I have stated in previous articles, I believe that the current and future alliance between Russia, Japan and China is a prelude to the next war; East versus West. I also believe that part of their strategy is to partially "de-capitate" the Leadership in the West. I also expect this to have a huge impact on Western intelligence agencies like the CIA, MI6 and Mossad. The Western Illuminati created both Communism and Fascism to destroy whole races they view as undesirable, and to ultimately eliminate the Middle Class and establish a universal "Forced Labor Camp". According to the Georgia Guidestones, and statements from the Global Elite, they desire to reduce the ...
