Dumbest Proposal Ever?

If President Barack Obama’s response to the economic crisis is imperfect, as he acknowledges, and if the Congressional Democrats leave much to be desired as well, then Americans can at least be thankful that the nation’s fate has not been consigned to the frozen minds on the other side of the aisle. Things are bad, and seem very likely to get worse—but the Republicans seem determined to plunge us into a real depression, gambling that catastrophe would return them to power. The leaders of the Republican party simply ignore flashing red warnings from the unemployment offices, whose reports now indicate that joblessness in this recession will soon surpass the worst of the ...

It was the winter of conservative discontent. Barry Goldwater had gotten only 38 percent of the vote, and his party had suffered its worst thrashing since Alf Landon fell to FDR in 1936. Democrats held 295 House seats, Republicans 140. They held 68 Senate seats to Republicans’ 32, and 33 governors to the GOP’s 17. Democratic registration was twice that of the GOP. The liberal press was gleefully writing the obituary of “The Party That Lost Its Head.” Decades might pass, it was said, before the GOP recovered from its fatal embrace of right-wing radicalism and foolish rejection of the leadership of Govs. Nelson Rockefeller and William Scranton. Wrote Robert Donovan in ...

Western military forces turning inward in anticipation of domestic unrest

As the growing world-wide economic crisis deepens, military forces from Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom are preparing to meet angry citizens on the street. The economic crisis - and the public outrage it is causing - is at the forefront of intelligence agencies and military forces in the western world. Prominent trends forecaster Gerald Celente has been sounding the alarm for years, warning that riots and tax revolts are coming to America. The Pentagon, U. K. Ministry of Defense, and Canadian military apparently agree. In November of 2008 the United States Army War College released the report Known Unknowns: Unconventional "Strategic Shocks" in Defense Strategy ...

Gays, Diversity and Prosperity

Colby Cosh writes: "Like Jon Kay, I find it ridiculous that Richard Florida has gotten fantastically rich for, essentially, writing over and over again that gay people are the secret key to wealth creation. On the other hand, I can't prove it's not true.. No, but Steve Sailer can! Richard Florida's weird idea is that places with diversity and tolerance produce innovation. Diversity means multicultural immigration, tolerance means public indecency, and San Francisco, for example, has a lot of both. But while young people with tattoos are hanging out downtown, the actual innovation is being done by nerdy white guys in the suburbs. Florida: "Gays predict not only the ...

'Change' Under Obama: From Dumb to Dumber and From Bad to Worse

A recent article in The New York Times quotes President Obama as saying, “I don’t buy the argument that providing workers with collective-bargaining rights somehow weakens the economy or worsens the business environment. If you’ve got workers who have decent pay and benefits, they’re also customers for business.” (March 2, 2009, p. B3.) The President’s statement reveals a great deal about his understanding or, more correctly, lack of understanding of economics. Collective bargaining is the joining together, typically through the instrumentality of a labor union, of all workers in a given occupation or industry for the purpose of acting as a single unit in ...

As I travel around America it is clear that this country is on the brink of an economic catastrophe the like of which it has never seen. And, of course, it is not alone. A similar story can be told around the world. The foreclosure figures are fantastic as families and others lose their homes through no fault of their own on a scale that, according to current projections, is destined to become a tidal wave. The credit explosion was orchestrated through Illuminati agents and Satanists like Alan Greenspan, who represents the interests of the Illuminati's Bilderberg Group, Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission and other far more exclusive and sinister secret ...

My recent appearance (March 4) on Rick Adams' Internet Radio show (I'm trying to get a link to the archive for you) covered the basics of where I see America heading in the next few years. I repeated things I have been saying for years, and then some. What seemed to get people stirred up most was my prediction of more than a little cannibalism in America in about 3 years, long after the food riots begin early next year. Two weeks ago, I recorded several segments for a test radio show of my own that I increasingly doubt will see the light of day unless I simply release them on my own web site, which I may well do, as the contents rapidly are becoming stale. Stay tuned. I have had ...

One Dollar --> Happiness, Guaranteed!

One Dollar --> Happiness, Guaranteed! Because I like you all so much, I've decided to share my formula for guaranteed happiness — well, almost guaranteed. It's quite simple (and the idea's not original to me, though I can't recall from whom* I got it in order to give proper attribution): 1. Buy a lottery ticket - the bigger the payoff, the better. 2. Pay with (untraceable) cash. 3. Burn the ticket. 4. Watch the televised drawing of the winner. You will be very, very happy when your number is not picked as the winner, which it will not be — I'm 99.9999999999% certain of that. You want better odds at getting happiness for $1, you have to talk to the Man ...

‘No Deal’ Republicans Map Disaster of Own Making

March 4 (Bloomberg) -- Republicans are headed for a political disaster of their own making. As bad news about the economy gets ever worse, the party of growth, markets and business is opposing every effort by President Barack Obama to shorten the recession and put people back to work. Congressional Republicans have crowed about their almost- unanimous nay vote against Obama’s $787 billion stimulus package. They say the money will be wasted, add to the national debt and do little to help promote economic recovery. They are wrong. There’s every reason to think the added spending and tax cuts will slow the sharp contraction in economic growth and then speed the ensuing recovery. ...

There is a bit of hypocrisy going on here. This kind of abuse of the court system is rightly condemned by conservatives when the target of the suits are corporations but now applauded when the target is an individual. Any looney tune can file a suit and issue a subpoena requesting any personal information he desires (you don't even need a lawyer to do it) and the target is forced to respond. It could even happen to you. IMHO, there is something obscene about demanding the scope of personal information that these suits are after. The "birthers" demand the right to poke through the details of Obama's early life longing for anything to use against him. They are using the ...

The National Ponzi Scheme

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) was set up to combat fraudulent practices. The SEC's website explains that "Ponzi schemes are a type of illegal pyramid scheme named for Charles Ponzi, who duped thousands of New England residents into investing in a postage stamp speculation scheme back in the 1920s." It goes on to say, "Decades later, the Ponzi scheme continues to work on the 'rob-Peter-to-pay-Paul' principle, as money from new investors is used to pay off earlier investors until the whole scheme collapses." That is how the SEC described the recent Bernard Madoff $50 billion Ponzi scheme, "a stunning fraud that appears to be of epic ...

A Nation of Cowards [The racial "civil rights struggle is over and it is won"]

Attorney General Eric Holder said the United States is "a nation of cowards" when it comes to race relations. In one sense, he is absolutely right. Many whites, from university administrators and professors, schoolteachers to employers and public officials accept behavior from black people that they wouldn't begin to accept from whites. For example, some of the nation's most elite universities, such as Vanderbilt, Stanford University and the University of California, have yielded to black student demands for separate graduation ceremonies and separate "celebratory events." Universities such as Stanford, Cornell, MIT, and Cal Berkeley have, or have had, segregated dorms. If white students ...

Harvard Hates Whites—Does America, Too? Edmund Connelly February 16, 2009 "The United States is well on the road to being dominated by an Asian technocratic elite and a Jewish business, professional, and media elite." — Kevin MacDonald English author Samuel Johnson famously quipped that “People need to be reminded more often than they need to be instructed.” Today I’ll follow that advice, reminding people—especially whites —of the deleterious effect decades of affirmative action has had on them. As with recent columns, this one will further the argument that the America system is not broken; it is being very deliberately manipulated to ...

Pelosi's list: Who's on her bad side?
Post Date: 2009-03-03 12:41:45 by X-15

Nancy Pelosi likes to keep lists. As a young political protégé of her father, Baltimore Mayor Tommy D’Alesandro, the preteen speaker-to-be would spend hours leafing through the list of voters her father had helped in some way — fixing a pothole, finding them a job, even getting them a hot meal. It was known as the “favor file.” Those around Pelosi say she has always kept her own favor file. But, like her father, she has also maintained a “disfavor file” in her head — a roster of those whom she believes have screwed up, betrayed her, challenged her or merely annoyed her. In some cases, Pelosi has mended fences with people on the list, most ...

Which is worse - Islamic terrorism or Muslim ghettos?

The cabinet is increasingly divided over what to do about Muslims. That has been obvious for some time, and an article in The Economist explains what has gone wrong. It's a subtle and closely argued piece, but I'm in the mood for crude generalisations. Here goes. Which is the bigger threat - Islamic terrorism or Muslim ghettos? Now, obviously we can't definitively answer that question: if a group of Islamist "radicals" successfully explode a dirty bomb in (say) Manchester city centre, then obviously we will look back and see the fight for social cohesion as a bit of a sideshow. We'll wish we had put more resources into anti-terrorism initiatives. But, as the ...

Obama Supporters: Deceived or Just Plain Liars?

The Obama phenom appears to be waning as Americans continue to see jobs hemorrhaging while Barack Hussein Obama aka Barry Soetoro aka and so forth, attempts to openly shove communism down our throats while destroying free markets and jobs in the process. 'The Great One' has proven in a record short period of time that he's a liar already breaking campaign promises. For those of us who live in the real world and follow these glory seekers parading as "public servants," we have come to expect no less. The two political machines, vote fraud and millions of uninformed, under educated and partisan voters bring the worst into office. Now the chickens have come home to roost ...

'We Will Recover' - Obama... No We Won't Says Celente

KINGSTON, NY, 27 February 2009 -- The wealth of plain, hard facts upon which The Trends Research Institute's forecasts are based belie the lofty promises made by President Obama's first address to Congress. "We will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before," said President Obama. Said Celente, "The government has yet to fix the levees in New Orleans. There is still a hole in the ground where the World Trade Center once stood. Washington has started two wars it can't win and doesn't know how to finish. The massive bank, brokerage, auto and insurance company bailouts have done nothing to resuscitate the ...

It was said that by going up this dusty road, unoticed by the tourist industry here, you could follow the Rio Cuale and go back in time to the Old Mexico, this was the old road to Guadalahara, I guess about three hundred miles distant. Sounds good to us as the ratter tatter of PV tourisum is fun but a bit wearing, so we put on our rough time shoes, lave the flip flops behind, pack some water and set off by foot. Well our maps are not the best so we tour around the steep streets of the decidly non tourist areas of PV and Sue meets ...

Government Talk Pretty One Day

Talk about judges making up law out of whole cloth--that, pretty much, is what the U. S. Supreme Court has just done. In Pleasant Grove City v. Summum, the Court, by a unanimous vote, concluded that a somewhat offbeat religious group has no right to place a monument touting what it calls the Seven Aphorisms on public land that already features a monument to the Ten Commandments. A unanimous verdict suggests that Summum was on shaky legal grounds to begin with. But the decision of Samuel Alito, endorsed by the other conservative judges, relied on reasoning that drew strong objection from some of the Court's more liberal members. It's not complicated, Alito argued. The government, ...

Hi all, Made it into PV Tuesday and have been having a blast seeing the most interesting city and eating wonderful. Also the peso is falling from 9:1 a few months to 14.5:1 and is still weakening. I expect it to be 15:1 in a week or so. Prices are sweet. Almost hot here, hot in the sun in the afternoon, nice the rest of the day. Going to travel about 150 miles down the Pacific coast in a week or so to Melak, close to Barre de Navvidad, to do some snorkeling and maybe some scuba diving. Gotta go- the gurls are telling its my turn on the Conga line.

During the American Revolution, the active forces in the field against the King's tyranny never amounted to more than 3% of the colonists. They were in turn actively supported by perhaps 10% of the population. In addition to these revolutionaries were perhaps another 20% who favored their cause but did little or nothing to support it. Another one-third of the population sided with the King (by the end of the war there were actually more Americans fighting FOR the King than there were in the field against him) and the final third took no side, blew with the wind and took what came. Three Percenters today do not claim that we represent 3% of the American people, although we might. That ...

Smooth? Yes. Transformative? No. Obama's Address to Congress

Barack Obama’s first address to Congress provided Americans with yet another example of competent speechmaking, and I suppose, given that we’ve just endured eight painful years of oratorical farce, being able to listen to your president without wincing is something. The problem is that the way forward proposed by the president as laid out in this address was almost always half-hearted, wrong-headed or doomed. Obama declared at the outset of his address that the economic crisis was the major issue confronting the country, and while one could argue that this crisis is merely a symptom of much bigger issues, like the nearly completed deindustrialization of the nation, the death ...
