The Racial Question: Liberals vs Archie Bunker
Post Date: 2008-10-22 13:29:35 by Jethro Tull

The Racial Question: Liberals vs Archie Bunker Liberals and other 'sophisticated' folk have long regarded those who promote white racial consciousness as ignorant and prejudiced -- 'not smart enuf to think their way out of a paper bag', as one wit put it. Instead, liberals have supposed that such people have been brought up in a parochial Southern backwater which nurtures a milieu of hatred that keeps them from seeing that blacks, Jews and other 'outsiders' are merely their brothers under the skin, and that 'there is only one race, the human race'. In truth, however, the liberals have gotten things exactly backward. The ugly reality is that, unlike the ...

WHO DOESN’T HAVE A PLAN? (Edwin Vieira in response to Naomi Wolf's recent delaration that Obama's got her vote)

Usually, I do not wield some other Internet columnist’s article as a foil for one of my own pointed commentaries. But Naomi Wolf’s recent offering, “Why Barack Obama Got My Vote,” provides such a “teachable moment” in cyberspace that I cannot resist. Most of my readers are aware that Naomi Wolf is a shining star in today’s universe of political commentary. She has warned Americans that their country is rapidly turning into a fascist state. That this observation requires no great insight is apparently beside the point where instant celebrity among the intelligentsia is concerned—but, even so, it is useful and praiseworthy. Her latest piece, however, ...

Barack Obama Revealed, A Dire Warning from an African American...

I have been hoping I would never have to write this article. I hoped it would never get to this point, which would force me to openly speak out against the first African American to seriously have a chance to be elected President of the United States. But after reviewing all the Stanley Kurtz material on Barack Obama/Bill Ayers relationship, I've come to the conclusion Barack Obama is definitely under the influence of a radical ideology that is so dangerous, it could literally pose a danger to the very existence of the United States, especially when we have an economy already in crises, and a war in progress against one of the greatest threats we have ever faced, in Islamic terrorism. ...

Who Was the Father of "Racism"?

Joseph Arthur Comte de Gobineau (1816 – 1882), to use his full name and title, has been called the “father of racism,” usually by people who think he was the intellectual precursor to the Ku Klux Klan and the Nazis. For a host of reasons, this is a silly way to think of him, but he does deserve study—both because of his influence as a thinker and for the inherent interest of what he wrote. As Gobineau recognized, many people had written about race before he did—“The idea of an original, clear-cut and permanent inequality among the different races is one of the oldest and most widely held opinions in the world.”—but he was the first to study race ...

On Obama's steadiness

18 Oct 2008 11:05 pm As mentioned yesterday, what struck me most, in reviewing Barack Obama's oratorical and debate performance since the first cattle-call, Gravel-equipped televised debate early last year, was his unchanging nature. He got better as he went along, but as an improving version of the same thing. I said I couldn't be sure whether Obama's consistency arose from deliberate strategic choice, flawlessly executed over a very long time, or whether it simply reflects the way he is. Odds favor the latter. Reader D.M. writes about the way this trait has worked in the general election campaign: I'm hoping it is a deliberate calculation on Obama's part, or else it ...

Just a Few Questions, Senator Obama

Just a few questions, Senator Obama Excuse me Mr. Obama, I mean Senator Obama, sir. Um . . . know you are busy and important and stuff. I mean running for president is very important and . . . ah . . . I hate to bother you. I will only take a minute ok, sir? See, I have these missing pieces that are holding me up, and I was wondering sir, if you could take time out of your busy schedule and help me out. You know, no big deal, just some loose ends and things. Hey, you have a nice place here! The wife sees houses like this on TV all the time and says boy she wishes she had digs like this you know? Is that painting real? Really? Wow. I saw something like that in a museum once! Oh, ...

Barack Obama for President (Washington Post endorsement)

THE NOMINATING process this year produced two unusually talented and qualified presidential candidates. There are few public figures we have respected more over the years than Sen. John McCain. Yet it is without ambivalence that we endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president. The choice is made easy in part by Mr. McCain's disappointing campaign, above all his irresponsible selection of a running mate who is not ready to be president. It is made easy in larger part, though, because of our admiration for Mr. Obama and the impressive qualities he has shown during this long race. Yes, we have reservations and concerns, almost inevitably, given Mr. Obama's relatively brief experience in ...

Slavery was good for the black man

Slavery was good for the black man Michael Dingwall Saturday, August 09, 2008 As we celebrate emancipation and independence, we are being reminded of the horrors of slavery. According to our leaders, academics and others, slavery was the worst institution ever created. However, while it is popular for most to agree with this claim, I beg to disagree. Indeed, contrary to the belief that slavery was bad for us blacks, I believe that slavery was good for us. Have we ever stopped to consider where we black people, especially those of us in the West, would be right now if it weren't for the Atlantic Slave Trade? What state do you think black Africa would be in today? Do you think that we ...

Reparations: the value of justice

Reparations: the value of justice Jerry Large Seattle Times staff columnist What a time to bring up reparations. Isn't the United States broke and post-racial? The economy is staggering, and we're in the midst of a presidential campaign in which the leading candidate is biracial. But there at Seattle Center all day Saturday around 300 people talked about the debts the U.S. owes to many of its citizens, and how it has dealt with them. The Seattle Race Conference has been held each fall for the past six years. The main topic changes, but the central purpose remains to organize and encourage efforts to eradicate racism. It's a boost to people who are involved in the movement. ...

One historical fact that has eluded most Americans, thanks to the illiberal education they receive in school and from the infotainment media, is that fascism has always been popular among so-called "progressives" – despite their tendency to mislabel and mischaracterize their political opponents as followers of the national socialist ideology. Benito Mussolini was nearly worshipped by the left in his time. It was only Adolf Hitler who gave fascism a bad name with progressives – and then not until he broke the Molotov-Ribbentrop non-aggression pact with Josef Stalin and their adored Soviet Union. That's why I fear fascism today much more than I fear communism. ...

Relocation not an option? Published: October 14, 2008 7:00 PM Laura kelsey You may be aware of the story of the man who killed a black bear with a stick on Oct. 4 (“Green Lake man kills bear with stick,” Carole Rooney, Oct. 8). The story created immediate buzz, not just because of the story of survival but because of the aftermath involving the cubs. The man involved, Jim West, has had his scarred head flashed all over news broadcasts, papers and websites. The story sparked headlines all over the world, including “Man kills bear with stick, sports gnarly scars.” Comments from readers on the Net are abundant and varied. They range from statements in awe of West’s ...

r-u-n-n-o-f-t posted a short article on LP about a dog that bit a tax collector. Here is what "McCain_Rocks" said about it. The dog that bit this lady needs to be destroyed and the owner given a heavy fine. No government employee performing their duties for the American people should have to worry about getting bit while carrying out those duties. It's disgraceful. No, you dumb cs, the so-called "lady" who got bit was a disgrace. It was apparent from the article that she worked for a gang of thieves. The dog should be given a steak for doing his job well and the owner should be given a medal for the good training he gave his dog.

How the Federal Government Runs Business

I just got this in an email. I remembered it after I read it but hadn't thought about it in a long time. Back in 1990, the Government seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada for tax evasion and, as required by law, tried to run it. They failed and it closed. Now we are trusting the economy of our country to a pack of nit-wits who couldn't make money running a whore house and selling booze? Something to think about, isn't it? When they can sell two things that are always in pretty high demand and can't even make any money doing that, why should anyone trust them to "fix" the economy? Not to mention that government policies are what caused the problems in the ...

As We See It: Elect Obama as next president

Barack Obama's remarkable rise really does equate with his campaign's theme: "Change you can believe in." In that many Americans today are concerned, even fearful, of what their future holds, Obama has demonstrated time and again that, while he might be short on governing experience, character matters and that electing him president will be a fundamental change in leadership for America. For more than 20 months, the Illinois senator has been running for president, against tough and experienced opponents. There have been some serious challenges during this time -- the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the revolt by some of Sen. Hillary Clinton's supporters -- but the candidate ...

Sorry, Karl [Marx]- Capitalism is Not Dying

In one of those coincidences that add some spice to events, the passage of the $700 billion financial bailout package by the US Congress the other day came at the same time as some dyed-in-wool romantics were marking the 160th anniversary of the publication of the Communist Manifesto. As you know, the slim volume penned by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in 1848 is an almost messianic hymn to the end of capitalism and the advent of the Communist utopia. It is, therefore, no surprise that some commentators have tried to see the current problems in the banking sector of the major Western economies as a fulfillment of the Manifesto's predictions. "Capitalism is dying," ...

A Wasted Vote

A Wasted Vote By Chuck Baldwin When asked why they will not vote for a third party candidate, many people will respond by saying something like, "He cannot win." Or, "I don't want to waste my vote." It is true: America has not elected a third party candidate since 1860. Does that automatically mean, however, that every vote cast for one of the two major party candidates is not a wasted vote? I don't think so. In the first place, a wasted vote is a vote for someone you know does not represent your own beliefs and principles. A wasted vote is a vote for someone you know will not lead the country in the way it should go. A wasted vote is a vote for the ...

Reports earlier this summer that Obama was associated with the New Party were vigorously denied by the Obama campaign and the New Party, but researchers examining Internet archives have found New Party documents clearly indicating Obama was a member of the party, received its endorsement, encouraged Party members to work with him in the Illinois statehouse, ...

Is Early Voting In Ohio Constitutional?

This election year 2008 there seems to be a new phenonmen here in Ohio. It is called early voting. It allows people to register and vote on the same day. The Obama campaign is pushing this early voting. I see internet and hear radio ads calling for us to register and vote on the same day. Is this early voting constitutional, do we have a constitution anymore? For the constitution in Article II which pertains to the executive branch says in clause 4 "Clause 4: The Congress may determine the Time of chusing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States. " So an unbiassed and true reading of the constitution ...

Beware Charismatic Men Who Preach 'Change' Editor, Times-Dispatch: Each year I get to celebrate Independence Day twice. On June 30 I celebrate my independence day. On July 4 I celebrate America's. This year is special, because it marks the 40th anniversary of my independence. On June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba and a few months later I was in the United States to stay. That I happened to arrive in Richmond on Thanksgiving Day is just part of the story, but I digress. I've thought a lot about the anniversary this year. The election-year rhetoric has made me think a lot about Cuba and what transpired there. In the late 1950s, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a ...

From the March 2008 Idaho Observer: By Dr. Kevin Barrett When Gandhi was asked his opinion of Western civilization he said it would be a good idea. But that oft-cited quote, is misleading, assuming as it does that civilization is an unmitigated blessing. Civilized people, we are told, live peacefully and cooperatively with their fellows, sharing the necessary labour in order to obtain the leisure to develop arts and sciences. And while that would be a good idea, it is not a good description of what has been going on in the so-called advanced cultures during the past 8,000 years. Civilization, as we know it, is largely the creation of psychopaths. All civilizations, our own included, ...

Are We Finally Coming Back To Life? Jim Kirwan 10-4-8 For the last nearly eight years. the net has bristled with vehemence and fire, as writers from all directions have tried to find that mysteriously missing link between "people" and what is being done to them. "Where's the Rage!" And maybe more important, "Where's the Outrage"! These angry but valid questions have lingered over each and every new obscenity as this political kaleidoscope of the New World Order has continued to slice and splice the universe into ever darker slivers of our broken world. Finally, it begins to appear that the public has begun to find its 'RAGE' in the current ...
