It Took My Mother 50 Years To Talk To Me About Her Experience In the Holocaust—When She Finally Did I Was Speechless
Post Date: 2015-12-26 00:25:22 by Artisan

As a Holocaust researcher, Hermann Simon had heard numerous survivor's stories, but it wasn't until his mother was 75 years old that she allowed him to hear her own. If I had to locate the exact point in time when I began thinking about preserving my mother's memories of her survival underground in Berlin during the Nazi years, I suppose it would be the day I overheard her speaking to someone on the telephone. It was obvious to me that it must be a journalist requesting an interview about her experiences during those dark years. My mother's reply was typical. "Don't you think I would be intellectually capable of writing down my own memories if I wanted to do ...

ALL bluefin tuna caught off West Coast are radioactive

Studies suggest that all bluefin tuna caught off the U.S. West Coast are likely carrying radioactive isotopes from the 2011 Fukushima disaster. That's just one more reason to avoid eating Pacific bluefin tuna, which are considered critically endangered. Over-fishing has reduced their population to only 3.6 percent of its historic levels. It is unknown what further effects radiation poisoning might have on this threatened fish. In March 2011, a massive earthquake and tsunami triggered multiple meltdowns at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Explosions launched enormous amounts of radioactive material into the air, most of which settled into the Pacific Ocean. Since ...

Abrams, Bergdahl and McCain

One man’s justice is another man’s injustice. — Ralph Waldo Emerson, Essays, First Series December 14, 2015, was a good day for John McCain. It was a less good day for Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, General Robert Abrams, and the military justice system. It was a middling sort of day for the U.S. Constitution, although it hadn’t been directly involved except insofar as Mr. McCain showed once again that the kind of due process the Constitution contemplates can prevent desired outcomes in some criminal proceedings. John McCain’s problem with the Constitution did not start with Bowe Bergdahl. It first came to light when Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the Boston Marathon ...

5 Things You Never Knew About Santa Claus and Coca-Cola

The Santa Claus we all know and love — that big, jolly man in the red suit with a white beard — didn’t always look that way. In fact, many people are surprised to learn that prior to 1931, Santa was depicted as everything from a tall gaunt man to a spooky-looking elf. He has donned a bishop's robe and a Norse huntsman's animal skin. In fact, when Civil War cartoonist Thomas Nast drew Santa Claus for Harper's Weekly in 1862, Santa was a small elflike figure who supported the Union. Nast continued to draw Santa for 30 years, changing the color of his coat from tan to the red he’s known for today. Here, a few other things you may not have realized about the ...

RUSSIANS GET IT, AMERICANS LOST IT - Sex, drugs and rock'n' roll: The great American tragedy

"During the recent 50 years, family grounds in the United States have decayed. Nowadays, an unemployed man, who changes his job every weak or every month, has become commonplace. This is a consequence of the war in Vietnam, of the fight for civil rights of the African American population, of high unemployment rates and the prosperity of immoral ideology that can be briefly described in the motto "sex, drugs and rock'n' roll." However, the American woman has won the right for education, career and independent life. American women have eventually become so emancipated and independent that they no longer need men. A modern American woman has lost her healthy instinct - ...

What Really Happened at San Bernardino?

The CBS Evening News ran this interview. This has been dropped down the memory hole. So has this. Note: he spoke of a black SUV. Note also that he got verbal confirmation from off-camera. This indicates that there were other eyewitnesses. The only eyewitness identifications that I can find speak of three white men. I looked at several published timelines of the shootings. You can, too. Search for “timeline,” “Farook,” “San Bernardino.” No victim identified the two suspects immediately after the shootings, which had ended by the time the police and firefighters arrived at 11:05 a.m. The police had no clues regarding Farook and his wife. The two were shot in a ...

Breaking => Russian Warships Shut Down Israeli Air Force Access To Syria.

Russian bombing of ISIS in Syria, has established a “no-fly zone” shutting down Israel, U.S. & U.K. This “no-fly zone” is not focused on preventing Syrian planes and military forces from operating inside the country. Instead, it functions as a barrier to prevent Israeli and American air forces seeking to enter Syria through the Mediterranean Sea in order to support [ISIS] terrorists and [Moderate] jihadists against the [Syrian] government of Bashar al-Assad. This is because of Russia’s Naval presence in the port of Tartus and its new presence just off the coast of Latakia, particularly with ships like the guided missile cruiser “Moscow”. The ship ...

'Third Prominent Eyewitness' to the San Bernardino Shooting? Not So Fast.
Post Date: 2015-12-11 12:59:21 by Artisan

There's plenty of documented evidence that the San Bernardino shooting is not what we're being told. Multiple eyewitness reported three shooters, along with several TV and print newscasts referring to the hunt for three shooters. There were also active shooter drills going on that the same time. Heck, even neocon government boot-lickers Pamela Geller and Rush Limbaugh, of all people, are asking questions about the third shooter. This is all great. However, this latest claim that is circulating on conspiracy sites about a 'third prominent eyewitness' who was called and told to change his story does not pass the smell test. Blacklisted News, along with many other ...

War Is On The Horizon: Is It Too Late To Stop It? — Paul Craig Roberts

PravdaMainForum... One lesson from military history is that once mobilization for war begins, it takes on a momentum of its own and is uncontrollable. This might be what is occuring unrecognized before our eyes. In his September 28 speech at the 70th Anniversity of the United Nations, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia can no longer tolerate the state of affairs in the world. Two days later at the invitation of the Syrian government Russia began war against ISIS. Russia was quickly successful in destroying ISIS arms depots and helping the Syrian army to roll back ISIS gains. Russia also destroyed thousands of oil tankers, the contents of which were financing ISIS by ...

US desperate to disrupt Russian push in Syria: Analyst

PressTV The US is “desperate” to disrupt Russian peace efforts in Syria, says Bennett. The US government is seeking to establish a military “cornerstone” in Syria in order to launch counter-measures against the Russians who have been invited by the Syrian government to combat the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group, says an American counter-terrorism analyst. On Wednesday, US President Barack Obama defended his decision to deploy special operations forces in Syria and Iraq to reportedly fight the Daesh terrorist group, insisting that it will not lead to “an Iraq-style invasion” of the two countries. The announcement came shortly after the arrival of 50 US Special ...

Turkey's Membership in NATO 'a Cold War Relic, Much Like Alliance Itself'

Sputnik... In his latest column for The American Conservative, veteran commentator Pat Buchanan warns that Turkish President Recep Erdogan may be trying to drag the US into a confrontation with Russia. Moreover, taking a look back at NATO's history, he suggests that Turkey's membership in the alliance, much like the alliance itself, is a Cold War relic. Obama is losing all credibility on Syria

On Syria Mr. President, your strategy is a Bush(43) – Dick Cheney one [ Editor’s Note: Dear Mr. President, This Russia must change its ways is getting a little old, and worse… and your policy statements have become an ongoing embarrassment. I don’t mean to be disrespectful, as foreign policy is a complex arena where judgment calls have to be made with partial information on their effect. But, you have long passed using up your trump card there. It is not Russia who needs to change its ways. It never has been. It is the US strategy of using regime change… and yes, using small- and large-scale terrorism to accomplish this; so here is another poorly thought out goal ...

If you knew the names of two killer cops who're being protected by their boss...

would you release their names? or would you not? What is the purpose of keeping them anonymous. to ''protect'' them? from whom? To protect them from hypothetical murderous maniacs who supposedly, allegedly, would seek their harm? but what if they were the very ones being accused of murder? what if the cops themselves, by all accounts, were the 'murderous maniacs'' who don't value human life? the fact is, we have freedom of speech and a 1st amendment. This alone is not reason, however, to release their names. Do you think it would be just, or wrong, to release the names? and if so, why? Thanks.

One would think that the so-called “Global War on Terror”, which has been given fresh impetus by the Paris attacks, must be going swimmingly. What else could explain the great enthusiasm with which it is pursued? It may be recalled that it started in earnest after the WTC attack – also a declaration of war, as it was put at the time. As is often the case when Islamist fundamentalists strike, the actual attackers immolated themselves on occasion of the attack itself, making it impossible to exact retribution. Except by proxy, that is. This was playing right into the hands of those who had planned the attacks. It seems to us that they have ultimately succeeded beyond their ...

Black Power: A Done Deal

It is curious that blacks, the least educated thirteen percent of the population, the least productive, most criminal, and most dependent on governmental charity, should dominate national politics. Yet they do. Virtually everything revolves around what blacks want, demand, do, or can't do. Their power seems without limit. Courses of instruction in the schools, academic rigor, codes of dress, rules regarding unceasing obscenity, all must be set to suit them, as must be examinations for promotion in fire departments, the military, and police forces. Blacks must be admitted to universities for which they are not remotely qualified , where departments of Black Studies must be established to ...

NYT Editorial Slams “Disgraceful” CIA Exploitation of Paris Attacks, But Submissive Media Role Is Key

A truly superb New York Times editorial this morning mercilessly shames the despicable effort by U.S. government officials to shamelessly exploit the Paris attacks to advance long-standing agendas. Focused on the public campaign of the CIA to manipulate post-Paris public emotions to demonize transparency and privacy and to demand still-greater surveillance powers for themselves, the NYT editors begin: It’s a wretched yet predictable ritual after each new terrorist attack: Certain politicians and government officials waste no time exploiting the tragedy for their own ends. The remarks on Monday by John Brennan, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, took that to a new and ...

Although not articulated until a few months later by, of all people, President Nixon in a televised address about Cambodia, that was the goal of Obama buddies Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn and other members of the Weather Underground during their juvenile but destructive temper tantrum known as the “Days of Rage.” Using the Vietnam War (practically a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democratic Party, having been started by JFK and vigorously but impotently prosecuted by Lyndon Johnson) as a pretext for their highly selective indignation, these revolutionaries manqué believed they could bring down the government of the United States by tying it ...

This is a new movie scheduled for box office release in 2016. It is about parental alienation. So when you're out and about looking for a good drama at the theater remeber the title. It should show good insight into the nightmare that is parental alienation.... the loss, the hardship, the injustice, and abuse. No innocent child should be forced to suffer the loss of a parent just because the other parent is bitter and vindicive. Children instinctively have attachments to both parents. And even if parents seperate they still want both parents... but when one parents deny contact , lie to their children, when they activly work to limit or deny the parent child relationship that is abuse ...

Who’s in Control? Obama or the generals?

RT... US President Barack Obama’s business-like meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit at the weekend belies a spate of bellicose comments made by the Pentagon towards Moscow. So, who is in control: Obama or the generals? The two leaders held an earnest 35-minute face-to-face discussion on the opening day of the G20 conference in Antalya, Turkey. The gathering of the world’s top 20 economic nations was dominated by the massive terror attack in Paris two days earlier, which claimed at least 129 lives and hundreds more wounded. Obama’s meeting with Putin – their first since Russia launched its military intervention in Syria nearly ...
