US Congress on sale (& they're just finding out now)?

PressTV... "Charging a man with murder in Vietnam was like handing out speeding tickets in the Indy 500." That famous line from Francis Ford Coppola's film Apocalypse Now sums up the pervasive criminality of the US military in Vietnam, which murdered more than three million people, many in massacres like the famous one at My Lai. (The US invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan weren't much different.) Charging a US Senator or Representative with corruption is likewise like handing out speeding tickets at an auto racetrack. The whole system runs on legalized bribery, euphemistically known as "campaign contributions." But even in the road race of Congressional ...

From communism to monopolistic capitalism in a single swoop

Pravda... What's the difference between an apparently benevolent Ukrainian oligarch and a charismatic chief of a drug cartel in Colombia or Mexico? There isn't any! Economically, politically and socially both were birthed as identical twins; and that behavioral-DNA which exists in both can also be found in most other powerful economic magnates who have metamorphosed in former communist nations, or Soviet republics, from the ranks of the party elite after conveniently setting aside the precepts of Karl Marx... and readily accepting pseudo-entrepreneurial predatory capitalism as the new cult. And while a chocolate cake was instrumental a week ago in the capture of drug kingpin ...

Scanning the headlines in the western mainstream press, and then peering behind the one-way mirror to compare that to the actual goings-on, one can't but get the impression that America's propagandists, and all those who follow in their wake, are struggling with all their might to concoct rationales for military action of one sort or another, be it supplying weapons to the largely defunct Ukrainian military, or staging parades of US military hardware and troops in the almost completely Russian town of Narva, in Estonia, a few hundred meters away from the Russian border, or putting US “advisers” in harm's way in parts of Iraq mostly controlled by Islamic militants. The ...

Pravda...Well-known journalist and political analyst Maksim Shevchenko paid a visit to the Pravda.Ru video studio to discuss the Ukrainian crisis. During the interview, the journalist talked about lies of Western propaganda and democracy, the situation with Ukrainian aviatrix Savchenko, staged video shooting in eastern Ukraine and delusions of Ukrainian President Poroshenko. Why do you think our Commissioner for Human Rights, the PACE and many international organizations are concerned about (the Ukraine fighter pilot) case?" "I find it strange that Savchenko receives all this attention." Western show of absurdity goes on "Well, the PACE and other human rights ...

Who Killed Boris Nemtsov? A verdict has already been reached – without evidence
Post Date: 2015-03-02 21:49:03 by X-15

Practically no one in the West doubts the murder of once-rising reform politician Boris Nemtsov was the work of Vladimir Putin, and/or his allies in government. If Putin didn’t give the direct order, the pundits say, the Russian leader created the "atmosphere of hatred" directed at the Russian opposition, of which Nemtsov was a half-forgotten yet still active leader. This obviates the need for evidence, while giving the accusers ample room to back off if and when facts to the contrary are uncovered – evidence which can then be easily discounted, because, after all, everyone knows a real investigation is impossible in Putin’s Russia. Thus freed of the facts, our new ...

Sanctions and junk rating: Perfect time to invest in Russia
Post Date: 2015-02-27 23:28:21 by Tatarewicz

Pravda.Ru Can international rating agencies junk Russia indeed? Is investing in the Russian economy completely hopeless under Western sanctions, as politicized rating agencies say? Pravda.Ru had a brief interview with political scientist Xavier Moreau during the Yalta conference to discuss these questions. "Mr. Moreau, how do you assess the situation in Russia today? If you believe the rating agencies that have recently downgraded Russia's rating to the junk level, then it appears that the state of affairs is horrible. It just so happens that one should not work with Russia." "You know, those rating agencies that junked Russia said back in 2007 that investment in the ...

Alternative General Staff of Ukrainian Army posing threat to country, Europe -

Ukraine's Right Sector only volunteer unit left in Donbas — Ukrainian General Staff MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. Prospects for the setting up of an alternative General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces testifies to the ineptness of top commanders of the Armed Forces and to the attempts to organize "an oligarchic coup" in favor of the country’s political warmongers, experts polled by TASS said on Friday. On Thursday, the commander of the Donbas punitive battalion and Verkhovna Rada deputy Semyon Semenchenko made public a plan to set up a Unified Staff of Ukrainian Volunteer Forces with headquarters in Dnipropetrovsk. A memorandum on the motion was signed by ...

“Anarchy Can Never Work”?
Post Date: 2015-02-22 18:22:36 by X-15

Semantic precision – for the purpose of this post, “anarchy” means a complete absence of coercive rulers; “social good” means a beneficial economic or social result for ALL participants in a given transaction or activity. Frequently we hear statists proclaim that anarchy can never work. Let’s give that some thought. For starters, they invariably neglect to define that term as they understand its meaning. The implication that must be drawn however is that they view anarchy, not as defined above, but as just another political system like democracy. The thought that anarchy, since it involves no ruler(s), is in fact the absolute opposite of a political system ...

Why Did President Jefferson Read the Koran?

When Keith Ellison was sworn into office as a congressman, he wanted to swear on a Koran instead of a Bible, so they used Thomas Jefferson's Koran, which they borrowed for the occasion from the Library of Congress. The story behind Jefferson's Koran, and what he did with it, is an instructive look at the power of accurate knowledge. It began before Jefferson was president. He was then the American ambassador to France, and he was disturbed by what was happening in the Mediterranean. For centuries, the "Barbary Coast Pirates" had been raiding ships passing through the Mediterranean. These were not "pirates" in the sense that we usually think of them. They ...

The 9 Veils Placed On Every Human Soul By A. True Ott, PhD Nearly a decade ago, a dear friend and colleague of mine named Don Harkins authored a wonderfully thought-provoking piece entitled “Slavery and the eight veils. Prior to Harkins’ untimely death, we discussed this “Eight-veils theory” for literally hours together – and in the end, Don asked me to write a piece about this for his newspaper, “The Idaho Observer.”  He did this, because I had shared much of my research with Don, and we together came to the conclusion that in reality, there were actually NINE veils placed on the human soul (i.e. intelligence), and that spiritual progression and ...

Bracken: Why The Left Loves Islam

Both socialism and Islam are parasitical fascist systems where the elite bosses feed as vampires upon the productive citizenry under their control. Under totalitarian Islamic Sharia Law, productive “people of the book” (Christians and Jews) are tolerated as “dhimmis” (officially subjugated 2nd class citizens) to the degree that the local emirs and sultans decree they should be tolerated. This allows the Muslim bosses to ease their grip or tighten it at will. In socialism this relationship finds many parallels. For example, Lenin himself, during the disastrous “war Communism” period following the revolution and civil war, allowed the “New Economic ...

A Moral Code For The Post-Collapse World

Zero Hedge ... Popular media today, including television and cinema, are rife with examples of what is often referred to as moral relativism — the use of false and fictional moral dilemmas designed to promote the rationalization of an “ends justify the means” narrative. We are also bombarded lately with entertainment depicting an endless array of “anti-heroes,” protagonists who have little to no moral code fighting antagonists who are even more evil, thus vindicating the otherwise disgusting actions of the heroes. From “24” to “Breaking Bad” to “The Walking Dead,” American minds are being saturated with propaganda selling the idea that ...

Francis Boyle: Brzezinski wants to break Russia up into constituent units

Pravda.Ru interviewed Francis Anthony Boyle, a professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law about the current politiclal situation in the world. We asked the professor to comment on whether the crisis between Russia and the West is as dangerous as it seems to be. How do you assess new Minsk negotiations on the political settlement of the conflict in Ukraine? It's very difficult, what concerns me it is that the ceasefire it is not go into place until Sunday, and today is Thursday, any thing could happen between now and then, I think that it's very important we've signed this agreement, hopefully it will head off President Obama's ...

Pravda... Brian Williams, American television network anchor caught telling his audience a fantasy version of his experience on a foreign assignment, has unintentionally provided us with a near perfect allegory and tale of caution about American journalism and the role it plays in politics and foreign affairs. I am not referring to the fact that a number of prominent Americans have done exactly the same thing Williams did making false public claims of risky deeds, this Münchausen-like condition being surprisingly common among American politicians. Hillary Clinton, in her 2008 nomination campaign, claimed she came under fire in Tuzla, Boznia in 1996, when her plane landed. Actual ...

The national debt has dropped out of the headlines recently, but that doesn’t mean that it has gone away. In fact, just a few weeks ago, the debt officially topped $18 trillion. For those keeping score, that equals roughly 101 percent of GDP. In other words, we now owe more than the value of all goods and services produced in this country over a year. And, according to the Congressional Budget Office, the debt will climb to almost $27.3 trillion within the next 10 years. Moreover, as Milton Friedman, pointed out, debt, like taxes, is just a measure of how we pay for the true cost of government, which is spending. That spending is currently on a path to reach 36 percent of GDP by ...

To which I replied: "It isn't your place to tell anyone, other than your children if you have any, what they "need." Just none of your business. Whether you or any of the gun grabbers in the government like it or not, it is a RIGHT. If you don't want one, don't buy one. But don't presume to tell others what they need or don't need."

The End Of The World In April 2015

So I was looking up some release dates for various movies and was paging through VIDEO ETA's website. From April 20th on, there is NOTHING. Not so much as an announcement or anything as to what is coming out. Considering that there are movies coming out right now that there should be Blu-Rays and DVD's coming out for, it is a given that there would be notices of things coming out past April. There are not. In fact, it is blank all the way through. This tells me that perhaps there is something odd in the works, or that Hollywood is going to cease putting movies out in hard copy format. What if April is the end of the world as we know it? Just a strange thought today.
