Turtle smokes one Rocky Patel cigar a week, which he buys from a locally-owned cigar store. Bizarrely, Turtle's mechanic, who was born here but his father was not, is also named Rocky Patel. How's that for a truly strange coincidence?

A second Portage resident was charged Wednesday in a celebration-turned-brawl prompted by racial slurs at a local tavern last month. Arnold Denby, 24, of Portage, faces up to five years in prison on a felony charge of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and a 90-day jail penalty on a charge of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He fixes brown rice in a crockpot and lets Mickey the pug eat the rest of it out of the bowl. He piles dirty clothes in a corner of the room and washes them once a week. He throws stuff on the floor of his van and cleans it out once a month. He eats over the sink sometimes. He falls asleep on the couch a lot, He lets his dog sleep with him. He smokes cigars in the bathtub. His last girlfriend once screamed at him: "I'm GOING TO HAVE A STROKE!" even though Turtle didn;t do anything.

Lately there have been slowdowns and outages on 4um. I do believe that one of them recently was a DOS (denial of service) attack, which worked by simply overwhelming the server with bogus requests with lots of web pages that were more difficult to respond to. That was on the 14th or 15th of Feb. That's the first and only instance where I am confident 4um was attacked. There may have been more but this is the only one I'd certify as such. BUT... there has apparently been another innocent factor which is likely the cause of most of the problems of late (and made the attack more effective). In a nutshell, the ever growing size of 4um's DB seems to have broken a limit which ...
