And when you're looking for your freedom (Nobody seems to care) And you can't find the door (Can't ...
Men are more intelligent than women, claims new study Post Date: 2006-09-14 19:04:06 by Peetie Wheatstraw

It is research that is guaranteed to delight men - and infuriate the women in their lives. A controversial new study has claimed that men really are more intelligent than women. The study - carried out by a man - concluded that men's IQs are almost four points higher than women's. British-born researcher John Philippe Rushton, who previously created a furore by suggesting intelligence is influenced by race, says the finding could explain why so few women make it to the top in the workplace. He claims the 'glass ceiling' phenomenon is probably due to inferior intelligence, rather than discrimination or lack of opportunity. The University of Western Ontario psychologist reached his ...

Losing control of the House after November's elections could be exactly what the entrenched GOP needs. September 14, 2006 CONSERVATIVE Republicans have learned a painful lesson over the last few years. It turns out power isn't all it's cracked up to be. Republican control of the White House and Congress hasn't resulted in lights being turned off in Cabinet agencies or enormous garage sales of office furniture. Instead, Uncle Sam is still looking like Marlon Brando at the end of his career: bloated, sweaty and slow moving. The GOP has become a Brando-like parody of its former self, reading its lines about cutting government without plausibility or passion. The rub of it, from a ...

Police rush to shoot, but ask us to withhold judgment A column about the death of Huntington Beach teenager Ashley MacDonald By STEVEN GREENHUT Register columnist and senior editorial writer Late last month, Huntington Beach police officers unloaded 18 bullets into 19-year-old Ashley MacDonald in a city park after, they say, she moved toward them with a pocket knife. The shooting has understandably sparked protests and countywide debate over when police officers should be allowed to use deadly force. I'm infuriated not just by the senseless nature of the killing, but by the arrogance of the police agencies, which refuse to talk frankly about the appropriate use of deadly force. The police ...

177. To: Gatlin, Goldi-Lox (#78) This is the exactly the kind of stuff you are doing that I was respectfully trying to point out to you on the deleted thread. You're a better man than I, Gunga Din. Goldi's dramatic declaration on yet another thread she pulled: YES. I'm FINALLY pissed... And you have NEVER EVER seen me pissed before. So, sit back and enjoy the ride. Madame better hang on herself, because it's time for her and everyone else to see just how really pissed off I am. And it's not just a bunch of hot-air, Internet pseudo-bravado from an on-line message board management phony. It's some real rage from a real person whose real name is tied to her username and whom Goldi has ...

PORT ST. LUCIE -- A 77-year-old local man who reportedly admitted looking up women's skirts for 13 years, was arrested Monday in connection with an incident last month at a Wal-Mart SuperCenter in St. Lucie West. Harry Tasker, of the 500 block of Southeast Anchor Lane, faces a video voyeurism charge. Tasker, who declined comment Tuesday, reportedly told investigators that he had been looking up women's skirts without their knowledge for about 13 years. He said he used a mirror from the stores to stare up their skirts. Police learned of Tasker after a woman found him with a camera cell phone behind her. "I think it's horrendous," said Connie Sue, 57, one of Tasker's neighbors. ...

September 11, 2006 -- IT was to be "The Mother of All Raids" (ghazvat al-gha zavat) that would bring down "The House of the Spider" as promised by the sheik in his mountain hideout. The "raid" would terrify the "infidel" and hasten his demise just as the armies of Islam had destroyed the Persian and Byzantine empires with a series of ghazavat 14 centuries ago. This time, the empire that would crumble under the weight of Islam's attack was the American "Great Satan," which had been running away from its enemies for decades. It had run away from Saigon, Tehran, Beirut, Mogadishu, Kohbar and Aden. Even when attacked in the heart of New York, ...

Boy Born with No Body Has to Use Burlap Sack Post Date: 2006-09-08 19:42:02 by YertleTurtle

My name is Billy Evans. I am a very sick little boy. My mother is typing this for me, because I can't. She is crying. The reason she is so sad is because I'm so sick. I was born without a body. It doesn't hurt, except when I try to breathe. The doctors gave me an artificial body. It is a burlap bag filled with leaves. The doctors said that was the best they could do on account of us having no money or insurance. I would like to have a body transplant, but we need more money. Mommy doesn't work because she said nobody hires crying people. I said, "Don't cry, Mommy," and she hugged my burlap bag. Mommy always gives me hugs, even though she's allergic to leaves and the burlap. ...
