Mom used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread mayo on the same cutting board with the same knife and no bleach, but we didn't get food poisoning. My Mom used to defrost hamburger on the counter AND I used to eat a bite raw sometimes, too. Our school sandwiches were wrapped in wax paper, in a brown paper bag, not in icepack coolers, but I can't remember anybody getting e.coli. Almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake instead of a pristine pool (talk about boring), no beach closures then. The term cell phone would have conjured up a phone in a jail cell, and a pager was the school PA system. We all took gym, not PE... and risked permanent injury with a pair of ...

Vegetables give Pamela Anderson best orgasms ever 2006/05/25 If you want to improve your sexual life, but you don’t know how to do it, then it is better to listen to a pro. However another question appears: who can be considered a professional in this quite intimate field? It can be a man or a woman who can boast of having an extensive experience in sex. Actress Pamela Anderson, former Playboy superstar, is just the right person at this point. And the following is her extremely valuable piece of advice. Pamela Anderson is urging her fans to energize their sex lives by turning vegetarian. To commemorate the National Orgasm Day, Pam gave credit to her healthy diet that helped her live ...

A new film on the Irish War of Independence is set to boost international understanding of the struggle against British rule after it scooped top honours at the Cannes Film Festival. The English director Ken Loach’s film ‘The Wind That Shakes the Barley’ won the Palme d’Or at the prestigious film festival, virtually ensuring its financial success and a wide distribution. The Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai, the president of the nine-member jury, said the decision had been unanimous. He said his panel had looked for films that reflected “compassion, hope, bonding and solidarity”. The Wind That Shakes the Barley depicts the experiences of IRA Volunteers who ...

Dippity-Do and Wild Jungle Hair

When I was a kid my hair was unmanageable. So, my mother would put a huge glob of Dippity-Do on it every morning, then strop it down with a brush. It never worked. My hair would still stick straight up, even though it was as hard as a rock with the dried Dippity-Do. When it grew out, I had Wild Jungle Hair, like Boy in the old Tarzan films.

Unincorporated Hamlet of Hell, Mich., Heats Up for 6-6-6 Party, a Once-In-A-Millennium Date HELL, Mich. - They're planning a hot time in Hell on Tuesday. The day bears the once-in-a-millennium date of 6-6-06, or abbreviated as 666 a number that, according to the Bible's Book of Revelation, signifies the devil. And there's not a snowball's chance in Hell that the day will go unnoticed in the unincorporated hamlet 60 miles west of Detroit. Nobody is more fired up than John Colone, the town's self-styled mayor and owner of a souvenir shop. "I've got `666' T-shirts and mugs. I'm only ordering 666 (of the items) so once they're gone, that's it," said Colone, also known as Odum ...

Coral Snake's Bites of the Week 9 (FReepers and the Pope) This week's Bites are agian built around the "usual suspects" At FreeRepublic. This is because FreeRepublic used to be the Premere Constitutionalist/Conservative web site just as advertised. However because of the constant bannings and censorship there since Shrubya came to power TRACABLE TO JIM ROBINSON AND A FEW JR "PET" FREEPERS the site has become little more than another celebrity, "reality" television and sexual gossip forum. Also on tap is my first official bite at the current papacy vor reasons I will ennumerate in that particular bite. As always remember the KEY and enjoy yourself. Bite One ...

A playful tail about a little-known celebration called “Government Appreciation Day”,

Few people realize that there is a new tradition since the beginning of the Bush tenure in office, a little-known celebration called “Government Appreciation Day”, which is celebrated in D.C. on the Saturday following Memorial Day. Thanks to knowing someone who knows someone, I was able to wangle myself an invitation to this year’s festivities, and I thought I’d share the experience. The day kicked off with a parade, and all of the floats were so fantastic, it’s hard to choose the best among them. So I’ll just give you a brief description of this year’s award winners. The Big Pharma float won top honors, and for good reason. The float consisted of a ...

A firefighter is working on the engine outside the station when he notices a little girl riding down the sidewalk in a little red wagon with little ladders hung off the sides and a garden hose tightly coiled in the middle. The girl is wearing a firefighter's helmet. The wagon is being pulled by her dog and her cat. The firefighter walks out to take a closer look. "That sure is a nice fire truck," he says admiringly. Thanks, Mister Fireman," the girl says The firefighter looks a little closer and notices the girl has tied the wagon to her dog's collar and to the cat's testicles. "Little Partner," the firefighter says, "I don't want to tell you how to run your ...

I just saw the premiere here of the 1969 French movie, Army of Shadows. It's about the French resistance during WWII, and it is one of the greatest, but most depressing, movies of all time. Not to spoil it, if you can see it, but they end up killing their own more than the Nazis, because the Nazis have a very effective strategy to find them out: National ID papers. In a normal society, you can get by with a forged one, but their strategy was to bring in anyone even slightly suspicious and turn them into informers. In one scene, they brought in an entire restaurant, including our hero, because they had meat on their plates. That proved they were breaking some law, so they demanded papers ...

Article View Counts are now in place. This displays the number of times a thread was viewed. An effort is made to exclude search spider views of various search engines like google, though there is no standard way I know of to identify those hits -- there appears to be no standard ID tag all spiders carry -- so some hits from search spiders might get counted. But I think it will filter those spider hits out somewhere between "pretty well" and "extremely well". Because no effort is made to record who read which thread, clicking your refreshing button will cause the count to increment, as will posting to a thread since you are redirected back to the thread after posting a ...

$2.1 Million Judgment Is Unhappy Ending for Matchmaker By Jessica Garrison Times Staff Writer 6:04 PM PDT, May 30, 2006 Single people everywhere dream of a match made in heaven. Anne Majerik only dreamed of a match made in Beverly Hills. But when her high-priced matchmaker disappointed her, she sued. And on Tuesday, a jury awarded her $2.1 million. Majerik, who paid $125,000 to Beverly Hills matchmaker Orly Hadida, said she was promised time with "a cultured gentleman" and his "estate of up to $20 million." She said all she got were a few introductions to some inappropriate men. Orly Hadida, an Israeli beauty pageant winner, told a far different story. She alleged ...

Article searching has been serviced and now offers a very powerful ability to search not just article titles but article content as well. Results are returned very quickly, and may be sorted by relevancy/score (default) or by post date. The linux MySQL database engine gets the credit for this ability. I learned of it's feature to handle these kinds of searches just recently and am now taking advantage of it. I've no idea on the method it uses to come up with scores. MySQL returns it and all I do is paste it up. Let me know what you think and/or if it's helpful. More modifications could happen, including a comment searching feature.

Your sexual desire or lack thereof could be in your genes, scientists announced today. The discovery might change how psychologists view sexuality. The researchers found that individual differences in human sexual desire can be attributed to genetic variations. The study is the first to provide data to show that common variations in the sequence of DNA impact on sexual desire, arousal and function, the researchers said. The scientists, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, examined the DNA of 148 healthy male and female university students and compared the results with questionnaires asking for the students' self-descriptions of their sexual desire, arousal and sexual function. They ...

Universal always knew that bringing "Miami Vice" to the bigscreen was an ambitious undertaking. Pic was greenlit with a $120 million budget and shooting scheduled over five months in four countries. So it was no surprise that when Michael MannMichael Mann and stars Jamie FoxxJamie Foxx and Colin FarrellColin Farrell began rolling in Miami last June, the production became the target for a steady stream of rumors -- including claims of everything from on-set fights to a spiraling budget. But now that Mann is in post-production -- shooting wrapped Dec. 10, 14 days over schedule -- U is adamant that while the pic hit its fair share of bumps, it was never out of control. Mann ...
