My Six-Foot-Long Left Arm

I have serious doubts about macro-evolution, i.e., one species changing into another. It came about in an odd sort of way. It was because of an encounter with the gate where I used to work. To enter the parking lot, I had to roll down my car's window and punch a code into a box. The gate would roll open to my right. When I left, I had to roll down my window and press a green button. Since I was at the same gate, but facing the other way, the gate opened to my left. But it never opened far enough to exit. I had to back my car up and angle it to the right to clear the gate. It occurred to me if I had a left arm that was six feet long, I would have been able to press the button without ...

Last Chicken Ranch madam dies

The last madam of the infamous Texas brothel that inspired the movie "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" has died in Phoenix. She was 84. Her nephew told the Houston Chronicle that his aunt died on February 25th after being hospitalized since a car accident in October. Although Robert Kleffman told the paper his aunt "hated" the movie--the film put a local family farm in the national spotlight. Few people heard about Edna Milton in the golden years of her life. Her nephew told the Houston Chronicle she stayed in her house, watched TV and smoked two cartons of cigarettes a week. He also told the paper she did not talk about her time at the Chicken Ranch in La Grange ...

Men and women may know what they like, but is their behaviour governed by emotions or chemicals?

Women are turned on by strong, silent types. Men think about sex every seven seconds. Women go for alpha males, but men avoid successful women. So we’re told, at any rate – but is it true? Is love dictated purely by biology, or can we still believe in the magic of romance? This Valentine’s Day, we sort the science from the clichés. Gentlemen prefer blondes FALSE Last month, researchers from the University of Westminster sent a woman to three different nightclubs with her hair dyed brunette, blonde and red, and recorded how many men approached her, and how they rated pictures of her. The study found that although the “blonde” received far more offers on the ...

Paul Lynde Quotes

Peter Marshall: Paul, can you get an elephant drunk? Paul Lynde: Yes, but he still won't go up to your apartment. Paul Lynde didn't just say dirty things on The Hollywood Squares, he said kinky things. And bitchy things. In the real world he'd be the kind of person you'd invite to a party full of boring people, just because you knew he'd say something outrageous and liven things up. Lynde was born in July 1926 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He established himself in stage productions like New Faces and Bye Bye Birdie (a memorable part he re-created on film), and in roles in such movies as The Glass Bottom Boat, Send Me No Flowers, and as an Indian chief in The Villain, a Kirk ...

Why Women Should Not be Allowed to Vote
Post Date: 2012-02-22 12:53:07 by Turtle

Before women got the vote, many intelligent women did not want them to get it. They thought they had more important things to do than get involved in politics. I've known enough women to realize why they have been denied the vote: many of them are natural socialists. One of my girlfriends, who became a libertarian, believed many women are natural socialists, and she believed it because she had been one before she overcame it. All these women I have known, who are natural socialists, operated on the same irrational, fuzzy-minded beliefs: I am supposed to get back ten times more than I give. In other words, people are supposed to support and subsidize them, but their support and ...

My First Memory

I'm sitting trapped in a high chair by that table that attaches to the chair. I'm too young to talk. My mother is feeding me something that tastes awful, and I'm tossing my head back and forth trying to get away from it. My second memory is again being trapped in a high chair and I'm screaming my head off, in a complete fury, trying to get out. I don't know how old I was but I must have been really young if I couldn't talk

So this is the end of the story Everything we had, everything we did Is buried in dust And this dust is all that's left of us But only a few ever worried Though the signs were clear, they had no idea You just get used to living in fear Or give up When you can't even picture your future We walk the plank with our eyes wide open... Some people offered up answers We made out like we heard, but they were only words They didn't add up To a change in the way we were living And the saddest thing- Is all of it could have been avoided But it was like to stop consuming is to stop being human And why would I make a change if you won't We're all in the same boat, staying afloat ...

Naked Texas Cowgirl, 18, Arrested After Slow-Speed Police Chase

Meet Taylor Burnham. When Corpus Christi cops responded to a suspicious person call early Sunday, they spotted Burnham, 18, standing in an alleyway next to a Jeep Wrangler. The teenager was naked, except for a pair of cowboy boots. After spotting cops, Burnham hopped in the Jeep and took off at around 3:10 AM. She then led officers on a slow speed chase through a neighboring subdivision, where she drove on a sidewalk before coming to a stop. Burnham, police reported, appeared to be intoxicated, so she was subjected to field sobriety tests and a Breathalyzer. While officers noted that a female cop helped Burnham get reacquainted with her clothes, a police report offers no insight as to ...
