The Police State Abolishes the Trial Post Date: 2011-09-27 06:52:05 by Ada

Several years ago, the police entered the office of a young professor at a reputable university and arrested him for an online crime. They took the professor away, booked him, and then offered him a deal: admit guilt and get off easy. The professor said to the few people to whom he was permitted to speak that this was crazy because he was innocent. His lawyer warned him: fight this and you could get life; admit guilt and you will get a suspended sentence. He took the deal. It was a trick. Now he languishes in jail, his life wrecked as far into the future as he can see. This doesnt happen in America, does it? Yes, it does. Not only that, it is increasingly the norm. Those raised on a ...

The Irvine 11: Guilty of Being Muslims in America - by Stephen Lendman Post-9/11, America targeted Muslims ruthlessly for political advantage. Law-abiding citizens discovered they're living here at the wrong time. Police state repression endangers growing millions, including Muslims for their faith, ethnicity, and forthrightness to confront injustice no one should tolerate. Many lawlessly prosecuted stand out, including the Irvine 11. They were wrongfully targeted for exercising their fundamental First Amendment right without which all others are threatened. Charges against one were dismissed. The others stood trial, accused of interrupting Israeli ambassador Michael Oren's ...

Cops Object to L.A. Times' Probe of Pensions By MATT REYNOLDS LOS ANGELES (CN) - The Los Angeles County police union says the Los Angeles Times could endanger the lives of retired officers if the county releases information the newspaper seeks under the Freedom of Information Act. The Times apparently wants the information for a story about pensions. The Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers' Association (PPOA) sued the Los Angeles County Retirement Association (LACERA) and the Times in Superior Court. The police union wants the county enjoined from sending officers' "personal and confidential" ...

Professor Sues Pittsburgh for Zapping Her With Weapon Developed to Fight Terrorists By KEVIN KOENINGER PITTSBURGH (CN) - An English professor says she suffered "permanent hearing loss, nausea, pain and disorientation" when Pittsburgh police used a Long Range Acoustic Device, developed to fight terrorists, on a peaceful demonstration against the IMF, in which she was not participating, but merely watching. Karen Piper sued Pittsburgh and its police force for negligence, civil rights and constitutional claims, in Federal Court. "During the G-20 Summit Meeting held in Pittsburgh in ...

State-Sponsored Murder: Official US Policy - by Stephen Lendman Georgia's September 21 cold-blooded murder of Troy Anthony Davis symbolizes what's wrong with America. Notably, the system at all levels is hopelessly corrupted and broken. The only option is tearing it down and starting over. Doing it Venezuela's way under Chavez works. Both nations are constitutional worlds apart. In his September 17 article titled, "Chavez versus Obama: Facing Presidential Elections in 2012," James Petras said: "Chavez following his democratic socialist program pursues policies promoting large scale long-term public investment and spending directed at employment, social ...
'Stingray' Phone Tracker Fuels Constitutional Clash Post Date: 2011-09-22 12:38:51 by Ada

For more than a year, federal authorities pursued a man they called simply "the Hacker." Only after using a little known cellphone-tracking devicea stingraywere they able to zero in on a California home and make the arrest. Stingrays are designed to locate a mobile phone even when it's not being used to make a call. The Federal Bureau of Investigation considers the devices to be so critical that it has a policy of deleting the data gathered in their use, mainly to keep suspects in the dark about their capabilities, an FBI official told The Wall Street Journal in response to inquiries. A stingray's role in nabbing the alleged "Hacker"Daniel ...

Revolution Step #1 - How To Build A Personal, Portable Tar And Feather Gun dailybail.com/home/revolu...uild-a-personal-portable- tar-and-f.html This is a very cool invention, and it works as the video demonstrates. Get much more detail HERE Ever find yourself needing to tar and feather someone, but lacking an angry mob to back you up? Maybe you wish to exact quick and messy physical revenge in a hurry? As far as I know, this has a fairly unique design among water (well, foam) guns in that it has a breech-loaded cartridge mechanism. The beauty of this is that you can quickly reload with a variety of ammunitions in pre-filled containers. More importantly, once you've fired the gun ...
I'm the King of America! Post Date: 2011-09-21 12:30:04 by Turtle

I hereby declare myself King of America. And all my new subjects had better take me seriously, otherwise Ill quit and let the Democrats and Republicans back into power. And no one is his or her right mind wants that, right? Personally, Id rather get a nice paper-cut on my lip with some lemon juice poured on it. As both the late Catholic anarchist Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn, and Hans-Hermann Hoppe, have noted, a constitutional monarchy is far superior to any other form of government (its not perfect; its just the least of all the evils. No, thats not true; the least evil would be no State at all, but I serious doubts about that ever happening.) ...

Georgia Board of Pardons Affirms State-Sponsored Murder - by Stephen Lendman At issue is saving Troy Anthony Davis. On September 21, he'll die by lethal injection, despite clear evidence he's innocent. On September 20, Georgia's Board of Pardons denied him clemency. Because Georgia's governor can't stay executions, Davis lost his last hope, barring an unexpected 11th hour reprieve. Georgia State University Law Professor Anne Emanuel reviewed his case. She found no justification for capital punishment. At this stage, however, she said: "I don't see any avenues to the Supreme Court," no matter how grave the injustice. In fact, there's nothing just ...

Uncelebrated Constitution Day Post Date: 2011-09-19 17:24:30 by James Deffenbach

Uncelebrated Constitution Day Fellow Constitutionalists, Last Saturday was Constitution day. 224 years ago on September 17, 1787 our Founding Fathers signed our Constitution. That day was the first time in human history that a new government voluntarily codified the limits of its own power. This was certainly a high point in humanity's struggle for freedom. The United States Constitution codified the fact that certain rights are given by God, as the Founding Fathers had first officially recognized years earlier in our Declaration of Independence. The Declaration and Constitution both recognized that God-given rights cannot be taken away by government. Contrary to the modern ...

Imperial Arrogance and Hypocrisy - by Stephen Lendman Washington supports a UN seat for the illegitimate Transitional National Council (TNC) Libyan government. Obama vows to veto a Palestinian bid for statehood and full de jure UN membership. Imperial America's wrong over right agenda takes center stage across North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Death, destruction, and immiseration take precedence over rule of law principles and norms. It's no different at home where political leaders favor wealth and power interests over working households, struggling to cope during America's greatest Depression. Imperial arrogance and hypocrisy define Washington's ...
TSA and Unproductive Labor Post Date: 2011-09-16 12:25:07 by Original_Intent

Last month, I attended the 19th annual State Policy Network conference in Seattle, Washington. Although the conference was informative and enjoyable, I took home a different lesson on free-market enterprise. This was my first trip on an airplane since President Obama upped the intensity of the screening process the Transportation Security Administration uses on passengers. Since the new, enhanced screening procedures have been implemented, the TSA has foisted many horrific indignities upon passengers under the guise of "public safety." These include a 94 year old woman forced to stand for examination, a terminal cancer patient asked to remove her adult diaper, and even the ...

Targeting Lawyers: America v. Paul Bergrin - by Stephen Lendman Post-9/11, thousands of political prisoners languish unjustly behind bars or await trial. They include lawyers for challenging injustice, especially for defending the "wrong" clients after America declared war on humanity. Longtime human rights lawyer Lynne Stewart got 10 years for doing it. In a recent interview she said: "I believe I am one of an historical progression that maintains the struggle to change (America's) perverted landscape....It seems that being a political prisoner must be used as a means of focusing people's attention on the continuing atrocities around them....I might think I ...

Former National Aeronautics and Space Administration Data and Photo Control Department manager, Ken Johnston, who worked for the space agency's Lunar Receiving Laboratory during the Apollo missions has been fired for telling the truth. Johnston asserts NASA knows astronauts discovered ancient alien cities and the remains of amazingly advanced machinery on the Moon. Some of the technology can manipulate gravity. He says the agency ordered a cover-up and forced him to participate in it. Ken Johnston in happier days at JPL Over the past 40 years other scientists, engineers and technicians have accused NASA of cover-ups and obscuring data. The growing number of accusers' ...

Prepare To Be Assaulted: This Government Is Out of Control!by Gary D. BarnettRecently by Gary D. Barnett: Peaceful Anarchy: Imagine A Society Without the State Lew Rockwell recently outlined what he calls the five republics of the United States. As he correctly points out in my opinion, the fifth republic began on September 11, 2001. While I agree, I think that this will also be the final republic. I say this not because I am a pessimistic person, but because I think this country, at least as we have known it, is finished. The times ahead I fear will be much more dangerous than most believe, and in fact, worse than most can imagine. To look at any timeline of atrocious ...
