WASHINGTON -- Faced with a Congress hostile to even slight restrictions of Second Amendment rights, the Obama administration is exploring potential changes to gun laws that can be secured strictly through executive action, administration officials say. The Department of Justice held the first in what is expected to be a series of meetings on Tuesday afternoon with a group of stakeholders in the ongoing gun-policy debates. Before the meeting, officials said part of the discussion was expected to center around the White House's options for shaping policy on its own or through its adjoining agencies and departments -- on issues ranging from beefing up background checks to encouraging ...

Restraining Orders are unilateral in nature and require NO PROOF - yet they act as PROBABLE CAUSE for this search. Man, everybusybody is in Charlie's shit !

Corporate Coup d'Etat in Wisconsin - by Stephen Lendman Ralph Nader calls Washington corporate-occupied territory - "every department agency controlled by the overwhelming presence of corporate lobbyists, corporate executives in high government positions, turning the government against its own people." Nader also said corporations don't just control government, they are the government. "The corporation IS the government!" They bought and own it at the federal, state and local levels, running it like their private fiefdom at the expense of working Americans, systematically stripping them of hard-won rights. They have 10,000 Political Action Committees and 35,000 ...

The Precious Treasure Holiday Company web site was active until a few weeks ago when its Massachusetts-based web hosting firm removed the site from its servers, apparently in response to a complaint about its content. Obama's Lawless Authorization of Military Commissions Injustice - by Stephen Lendman On March 7, New York Times writers Scott Shane and Mark Landler headlined, "Obama Clears Way for Guantanamo Trials," saying: By Executive Order (EO), Obama authorized their use "with revamped procedures but implicitly admitt(ed) the failure of his pledge to close the prison camp." Since taking office, Obama broke every important pledge he made with regard to: -- war and peace; -- fixing the economy; -- helping beleaguered homeowners; -- supporting organized labor; -- helping working Americans, especially those most vulnerable, disadvantaged, and harmed by economic crisis; -- ...

Homeland Security looked into covert body scans March 5, 2011 by legitgov ShareThis Homeland Security looked into covert body scans 04 Mar 2011 The Homeland Security Department paid contractors millions of dollars to develop and study surveillance systems that could covertly track pedestrians and check under people's clothing with airport-style body scanners as they enter train stations, bus depots or major events, newly released documents show. Two contracts the department signed in 2005 and 2006 were part of its effort to acquire technology to find suicide bombers in a crowd of moving people, according to documents given to the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), a ...

Theyre going to be partnering with public and private entities to tap directly into existing surveillance cameras across the city. Officers say this will allow them to get to surveillance video more quickly. There are hundreds of cameras across Sacramento and if we can tap into just some of those it will give us more eyes on the streets, said Sacramento Police Department Sgt. Norm Leong. Police already have three cameras up along Del Paso Boulevard. They say they wont be ...

Corporations a person , not entitled to personal privacy Post Date: 2011-03-06 05:10:08 by Tatarewicz

The Supreme Court ruled unanimously that personal-privacy rights don't apply to corporations under the Freedom of Information Act. Tuesday's ruling was a defeat for AT&T Inc., which had sought to block the disclosure of emails and other potentially embarrassing documents it provided to the Federal Communications Commission during a 2004 probe by the agency of whether the telecommunications giant overbilled the New London, Conn., public schools. The court, in an opinion by Chief Justice John Roberts, said corporations don't get to enjoy certain personal-privacy exemptions included in FOIA, a disclosure law that allows the public to gain access to some documents filed with ...

House Republicans attempt to revive Real ID by Declan McCullagh If you're a resident of one of at least 24 states including Arizona, Georgia, and Washington, your driver's license may no longer be valid for boarding an airplane or entering federal buildings as of May 11, 2011. That's the deadline that senior House Republicans are calling on the Obama administration to impose, saying states must be required to comply with so-called Real ID rules creating a standardized digital identity card that critics have likened to a national ID. The political problem for the GOP committee chairmen is that the 2005 Real ID Act has proven to be anything but popular: legislatures of two ...

By Lawrence Davidson Part I There is no doubt that Julian Assange, the head of the Wikileaks organization, and Bradley Manning, the soldier who allegedly leaked U.S. classified documents, are being singled out and made examples of by the Obama administration. Their suffering constitutes a message which goes like this: if you inform the public of what the United States government is doing, no matter how illegal and disgusting it might be, our police and intelligence agencies will track you down and turn your life into hell. We will do that to you whether we can prove you committed a crime or not (as in the case of Assange) and we will do it to you even if it runs counter to our ...
Why You're Not Married Post Date: 2011-03-05 12:32:17 by Turtle

You want to get married. It's taken a while to admit it. Saying it out loud -- even in your mind -- feels kind of desperate, kind of unfeminist, kind of definitely not you, or at least not any you that you recognize. Because you're hardly like those girls on TLC saying yes to the dress and you would never compete for a man like those poor actress-wannabes on The Bachelor. You've never dreamt of an aqua-blue ring box. Then, something happened. Another birthday, maybe. A breakup. Your brother's wedding. His wife-elect asked you to be a bridesmaid, and suddenly there you were, wondering how in hell you came to be 36-years-old, walking down the aisle wearing something halfway ...

How the Constitution Enabled Socialism and Fascism in America Scott Lazarowitz Even though Barack Obama is still president, the conservatives are already suffering from Obama Derangement Syndrome, as they constantly label Obama a socialist, just as the left continue to label George W. Bush a fascist. This is strange, given that Bush is also a socialist and Obama is also a fascist. Go figure. But the more I have thought about these issues, the more I have realized there is not much difference between socialism and fascism. And with essentially total government control over every aspect of our daily lives, while America is presumably a capitalist ...

It's not clear if administrators condoned the memo. February 28, 2011|By Ruben Vives and Jeff Gottlieb, Los Angeles Times A memo discovered in files of the Bell Police Department appears to outline a game in which police officers would compete to issue tickets, impound cars and arrest motorists. Titled the "Bell Police Department Baseball Game," the memo assigns "singles," "doubles," "triples" and "home runs" to progressively more serious infractions, ...

Excerpt: [Mitt Romney's father] George Wilcken Romney was born in Mexico, to US citizen parents who had not yet spent one day on US soil. So exactly what was George Wilcken Romney true citizenship status? I believe that he would have been required to apply for naturalization, but he did not. How can Mitt Romney be considered a natural born citizen, when his father was possibly an illegal alien , and not a US citizen? 2 posters ask: Mitt is an anchor baby?
Poster Comment:Apparently so.

As reported and applauded by Politico, Holder announced Tuesday that he was fed up with listening to whining whites who claim the justice department deliberately blocks investigations of black on white racism. Predictably, the Establishment media sides with Holder. Think about that, Holder said. When you compare what people endured in the South in the 60s to try to get the right to vote for African Americans, to compare what people subjected to that with what happened in Philadelphia, which was inappropriate .. .to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line for my people, said Holder, who is black. Westboro Funeral Pickets Are Protected Speech, High Court Rules Post Date: 2011-03-02 11:14:03 by Phant2000

The Supreme Court, in an 8-1 decision, ruled Wednesday that members of the renegade Westboro Baptist Church have a constitutionally protected right to protest military funerals, though their demonstrations are widely despised and deplored. The case presented the justices with a high-profile question about the breadth of First Amendment speech and assembly protections. A majority of justices ruled that these fundamental rights outweigh the concerns of grieving family members who would rather not deal with the obnoxious protesters from the Kansas church. In doing so, the judges upheld a lower-court decision to invalidate a $5 million judgment in favor of the father of a dead Marine whose ...

Aussies Ready to Roll Out Deep Penetrating Radiation Scanners at AirportsSteve Watson Infowars.com March 1, 2011 The next generation of body scanners to be rolled out in airports will literally be able to see inside the human body, as security personnel gear up to trial machines that use deep penetrating radiation, the same kind hospitals use to examine internal organs and bones. Australian airports are set to begin using the devices should legislation before Federal Parliament be passed, enabling customs officers to use technology previously only operated by doctors in controlled conditions. The justification for the technology is to crack down on suspected drug smugglers who swallow ...
