The Federal Reserve Abolition Act - by Stephen Lendman On June 15, 2007, Ron Paul introduced HR 2755: Federal Reserve Abolition Act. There were no co- sponsors, no further action was taken, and the legislation was referred to the House Committee on Financial Services and effectively pigeonholed and ignored. It's a bold and needed measure to "abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal reserve banks, to repeal the Federal Reserve Act, and for other purposes." The bill provides for management of employees, assets and liabilities of the Board during a dissolution period, and more as follows: -- it designates the Director of the Office of ...

It's been a tough year in the markets, and it's sad to report yet another senior banker is believed to have killed himself. The Mail-on-Sunday reports that 49-year-old Christen Schnor, who ran HSBC's UK, Turkey, Middle East and Malta insurance operations, was found dead last week in a Knightsbridge hotel. He is said to have hanged himself with a belt, and was apparently found naked in a closet. There was a suicide note beside the body. London's Metropolitan Police are not treating the death as suspicious. Schnor, a Danish national, is thought to have been living in the hotel while building work was being undertaken on his apartment. His wife and two young ...

*I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.* INTRODUCTION When I beat the Internal Revenue Service, I used Supreme Court (SC) decisions. If I had tried to use these in Court, I would have been convicted. I was involved with a patriot group and I studied Supreme Court cases. I concluded that the Supreme Court had declared that I was not a person required to file an income tax -- that that tax was an excise tax on privileges granted by government. So I quit filing and paying income taxes and it was not long before they came down on me with a heavy hand. They issued a notice of deficiency, which had such a fantastic sum on it that the ...

Posted 1:00 AM Eastern December 22, 2008© NewsWithViews.com While most Americans were bombarded with news coverage regarding the presidential race without end, President George W. Bush almost silently signed a senate bill that would change America forever. S.1858 allows the federal government to screen the DNA of all newborn babies in the United States. According to the legislation, the new law must be implemented within 6 months of Bush's bill signing in April 2008. According to police experts, this infant DNA collection is now being carried out by individual states and sample DNA is being submitted to the feds. Congressman Ron Paul states that this bill is the first step ...

We the people have demanded America get out of the communist controlled UN for decades. Instead, we've been raped for hundreds of billions of dollars in dues to support totalitarian world government. Click here to see a news item, May 1, 1997. UN to debate imposing a new world order on news. "A government would not only have an internationally sanctioned right to censor news coming into the country, but also news going out...The proposal even calls for a special tribunal to deal with journalists who violate the new understandings." There's already a push to censor the Internet. It's all in the game. Bear with me while I take this further. There was a call for a ...

Click for Full Text! On December 10, 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. So just the other day, the declarations 60th anniversary was celebrated. It may well have escaped your attention; though people engaged in human rights work marked the occasion, the anniversary flew in, then out, below most peoples radar. And why lament that? We all know, do we not, of the ongoing violations of human rights in many, many places around the world in Sudan and Congo, in Russia and North Korea, in China and Somalia, and on and on? Who among us needs to be reminded, who among us does not already advocate ...

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A 21-year-old woman accused of sending a vulgar text message to a 17-year-old girl is one of the first cases brought under a law against cyberbullying spurred by the suicide of a teenage girl following cruel messages on the Internet. The 2006 death of 13-year-old Megan Meier prompted Missouri lawmakers to update state harassment law earlier this year so that it now covers bullying and stalking done through electronic media, like e-mails or text messages. A handful of cases related to electronic communication have been filed statewide since the law took effect Aug. 28. Prosecutors do not track harassment cases based on the type of communication method used, so could not ...

Brown asks state high court to overturn Prop. 8 Bob Egelko, Chronicle Staff Writer Saturday, December 20, 2008 Brown, who is required to defend state laws unless he cannot find reasonable legal grounds to do so, said after Prop. 8 passed Nov. 4 that he would support the initiative before the state's high court. But in a lengthy filing late Friday, he argued that the constitutional amendment was "inconsistent with the guarantees of individual liberty" in California's governing charter. Click for Full Text!

12-20-2008 Reuters AddThis Social Bookmark Button WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Some things never change. Scientists said on Friday they had replicated an experiment in which people obediently delivered painful shocks to others if encouraged to do so by authority figures. Seventy percent of volunteers continued to administer electrical shocks -- or at least they believed they were doing so -- even after an actor claimed they were painful, Jerry Burger of Santa Clara University in California found. "What we found is validation of the same argument -- if you put people into certain situations, they will act in surprising, and maybe often even disturbing, ways," Burger said in a ...

We no longer have a civilian-led government. It is hard for a lifelong Republican and son of a retired Air Force colonel to say this, but the most unnerving legacy of the Bush administration is the encroachment of the Department of Defense into a striking number of aspects of civilian government. Our Constitution is at risk. President-elect Barack Obama's selections of James L. Jones, a retired four-star Marine general, to be his national security adviser and, it appears, retired Navy Adm. Dennis C. Blair to be his director of national intelligence present the incoming administration with an important opportunity -- and a major risk. These appointments could pave the way for these ...

Hey, Will we just got a letter from a Marine saying that he was part of a project dealing with civilian arms confiscation by the military. Are you interested? It had been a fairly slow morning up until the point Dave Bohon, at the time the managing editor at The New American, came down to the research department with the aforementioned letter clutched in his hands and a puzzled expression inscribed in his aquiline features. Practically leaping out of my chair, I grabbed the proffered letter, a handwritten missive attached to a multi-page document called a "Combat Arms Survey" (scroll down). I read both the letter and the questionnaire with a sense of mingled ...
Is Nolu Chan Correct About Supreme Court Being Barred From Issuing Advisory Opinions Under the Constitution? Post Date: 2008-12-19 18:06:40 by Old Friend

[article] I am writing to respectfully ask that the Supreme Court, in its deliberations in the substantive components of any of these cases, provide clarifying language for the American public as to the meaning of the Article II natural born citizen requirement to the selection of a President of the United States. ... The Courts silence on this issue, in my humble opinion, would be more damaging to Americans than making a clear statement, even if the cases are dismissed. All U.S. Federal courts, including SCOTUS, are barred by the Constitution from issuing any advisory opinion. nolu chan posted on 2008-12-19 18:00:08 ET Reply Trace Click for Full Text!
Judge upholds Chicago's handgun ban Post Date: 2008-12-19 16:26:19 by freepatriot32

A federal judge today upheld Chicagos 1982 handgun ban as Mayor Daley disclosed plans to strengthen it by following Washington D.C.s lead. In a 5-to-4 decision in June, the Supreme Court overturned the D.C. handgun ban on grounds that the Second Amendment establishes the right to own a handgun for personal self-defense. Hours later, the National Rifle Association and the Illinois State Rifle Association filed lawsuits seeking to overturn handgun bans in Chicago, Morton Grove, Evanston and Oak Park. Wilmette and Morton Grove subsequently repealed their handgun bans. Chicago held fast. Today, U.S. District Judge Milton Shadur rewarded the city for hanging tough, rejecting a ...

It was a little before 8 at night when the breaker went out at Emily Milburn's home in Galveston. She was busy preparing her children for school the next day, so she asked her 12-year-old daughter, Dymond, to pop outside and turn the switch back on. As Dymond headed toward the breaker, a blue van drove up and three men jumped out rushing toward her. One of them grabbed her saying, "You're a prostitute. You're coming with me." Dymond grabbed onto a tree and started screaming, "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy." One of the men covered her mouth. Two of the men beat her about the face and throat. As it turned out, the three men were plain-clothed Galveston police officers ...

The Los Angeles City Council approved a package of gun control laws Wednesday, placing new requirements on ammunition sellers and banning the sale of military-style ammunition in the hopes of further reducing the city's gun and gang violence. The measures ban the sale of .50-caliber ammunition, capable of penetrating a car's engine, and would require the city's ammunition vendors to be licensed, to sell ammunition face-to-face instead of over the Internet and require gun dealers to report a full accounting of their inventory twice a year to the Police Department. The council passed laws prohibiting the installation of secret compartments for guns in cars and allowing the city ...

An Ohio family whose members have served their friends and neighbors with food cooperative services involving bulk and discount supplies has been targeted in a raid by armed law enforcement officers wearing black fatigues who forcibly rounded up the mom and 10 children and held them for six hours. The raid prompted a complaint filed today on behalf of the family by the Center for Constitutional Law at the Buckeye Institute. It alleges authorities "made a haphazard unannounced entry into the property with guns drawn, as other officers surrounded the property, with guns drawn," then "confiscated the family's personal food supply, personal computers, and personal cell ...

Click for Full Text! True, the victory of 1781 was an amazing triumph, and the vision of those gathered in Philadelphia five years before that men may rightfully form or disband governments at will, for the higher purpose of protecting our God-given individual rights is still worth celebrating. But that confederation of free men ended after a mere dozen years, on June 21, 1788, when New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the new United States Constitution, making it the law of the land. At that point, the organization of free peoples created by the Declaration of Independence the one we still celebrate each July passed away. Our government school ...

'We'll kick your ass' slogan on sheriff's patrol cars becomes issue in excessive force trial By John Ellis Fresno Bee Article Launched: 12/17/2008 09:32:59 AM PST The Kern County Sheriff's Department probably thought the embarrassing episode was well in the past. Since the former sheriff lost a 2006 re-election bid, a slogan on the side of a few patrol cars proclaiming "We'll kick your ass" has fallen off the front pages and been relegated to urban-legend status and a few snarky mentions on the Internet. But the infamous slogan is news once again as a key part of an excessive-force lawsuit filed by a Georgia long-haul trucker and his wife that is ...

WASHINGTON Nearly six months after the Supreme Court put an end to the District of Columbias decades-old ban on handgun possession, the City Council here passed a sweeping new ordinance on Tuesday to regulate gun ownership. The legislation would require all gun owners to receive five hours of safety training and to register their firearms every three years. In addition, they would have to undergo a criminal background check every six years. Councilman Phil Mendelson, who helped draft the bill and shepherd it through the Council, called it a very significant piece of legislation that borrows best practices from other states. Opponents said the legislation flew in ...
