The U.S. government is collecting electronic records on the travel habits of millions of Americans who fly, drive or take cruises abroad, retaining data on the persons with whom they travel or plan to stay, the personal items they carry during their journeys, and even the books that travelers have carried, according to documents obtained by a group of civil liberties advocates and statements by government officials. The personal travel records are meant to be stored for as long as 15 years, as part of the Department of Homeland Security's effort to assess the security threat posed by all travelers entering the country. Officials say the records, which are analyzed by the ...

Next Step to 9/11 Justice Joel S. Hirschhorn Everyone thinks of terrorism and homeland security for lessons learned from 9/11. There is another opportunity. Make our government trustworthy and truthful. The 9/11 truth movement is stronger than ever, though it is generally derided by politicians and ignored by the mainstream media. It is fueled by people passionate about alternative explanations to the official 9/11 story. Understandable, considering that the co-chairs of the 9/11 Commission admitted: “We were set up to fail.” In 2006 Time magazine said: “The population of [the 9/11 truth movement] is larger than you might think. A Scripps-Howard poll of 1,010 adults last ...

They even keep sometimes keep track of what books you read. For as long as 15 years. In a terrifying front-page article Saturday, the Post outlines the latest in US government surveillance. According to officials, the records are intended "to assess the security threat posed by all travelers entering the country. Officials say the records, which are ...

Dan Rather, whose career at CBS News ground to an inglorious end 15 months ago over his role in an unsubstantiated report questioning President Bush’s Vietnam-era National Guard service, filed a lawsuit this afternoon against the network, its corporate parent and three of his former superiors. Rather Charges That CBS Wanted to ‘Curry Favor’ With White House Mr. Rather, 75, asserts that the network violated his contract by giving him insufficient airtime on “60 Minutes” after forcing him to step down as anchor of the “CBS Evening News” in March 2005. He also contends that the network committed fraud by commissioning a “biased” and incomplete ...

The Police State Is Right Here, Right Now By Carolyn Baker As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it is in such a twilight that we all must be aware of change in the air-however slight-lest we become unwilling victims of the darkness. ~Justice William O. Douglas~ 09/20/07 "ICH" --- -- In April, 2007 I was pleasantly surprised to find Naomi Wolf's article, "Fascist America, In 10 Easy Steps" posted in several places online. I have been a fan of Wolf for many years, greatly appreciating her works and especially her 1991 book, The Beauty Myth. I had ...

O.J. Simpson’s latest legal troubles have dominated the news this week. The truth about what happened may never be ascertained, because all of the evidence is circumstantial and it’s a classic "he said, he said" story. According to the police report, an acquaintance of Simpson’s, auction house owner Tom Riccio, found out somehow that two Las Vegas sports memorabilia dealers had items that he believed belonged to Simpson, and he informed Simpson of this. Simpson came to Las Vegas from his home in Florida last week for a wedding, so he decided to retrieve his items while he was there. Conspiring with Simpson, Riccio lured the two dealers to a motel room last ...

left -- Justin Barker, the forgotten White victimDavid Duke Speaks out in Defense of Jena Louisiana -- MP3 Much has been made of the fact that I won an overwhelming majority of votes in Jena Louisiana in my election bids for U.S. Senator and for Governor. Such is said to falsely label the people in Jena as “racists.” In fact, I won the overwhelming majority of the White vote in the entire state of Louisiana, not just in Jena. Since the people of Jena voted for me twice to speak for them as their Senator and as their Governor, I will ardently speak for them now. The people of Jena, the people of Louisiana and I are not racist. We simply want justice to be done. We understand ...

Is the Constitution Constitutional?

Question: Is the Constitution Legitimate? Did you know that the American People opposed the adoption of the U.S. Constitution? Did you Know that Patrick Henry ("give me liberty or give me death!") lectured against the Constitution? He warned it would be an artifice to set up a tyranny. What if the U.S. Constitution was a fraud and usurpation from the beginning? What if everything we are told to believe about the Constitution is a string of lies based on more lies? What if the entire American legal and political system was a lie based on a fraud perpetrated by traitors who sought to destroy what America was before the "Constitutional Era?" Many people speak of the ...

September 19, 2007 Why Did Senator John Kerry Stand Idly By? By PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS Naïve Americans who think they live in a free society should watch the video filmed by students at a John Kerry speech September 17, Constitution Day, at the University of Florida in Gainesville. At the conclusion of Kerry’s speech, Andrew Meyer, a 21-year old journalism student was selected by Senator Kerry to ask a question. Meyer held up a copy of BBC investigative reporter Greg Palast’s book, Armed Madhouse, and asked if Kerry was aware that Palast’s investigations determined that Kerry had actually won the election. Why, Meyer asked, had Kerry conceded the election so quickly when ...

FORT MEADE, Md. - President Bush said Wednesday he wants Congress to expand and make permanent a law that temporarily gives the government more power to eavesdrop without warrants on suspected foreign terrorists. Without such action, Bush said, "our national security professionals will lose critical tools they need to protect our country." "It will be harder to figure out what our enemies are doing to train, recruit and infiltrate operatives into America," the president said during a visit to the super-secret National Security Agency's headquarters. "Without these tools, our country will be much more vulnerable to attack." The Foreign Intelligence ...

WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR YOUR CHILD'S LIFE? Michael Rivero No, seriously, how much would you charge me to let me kill your kid? I'll make up a whole batch of comfortable lies about it so you can assuage your guilt when your kid comes home in a cheap box with a cheaper flag draped over it, but, c'mon, let's talk money here. How much? No? Ummm, okay, how much will you charge me to let someone else's kids get killed? Better deal, huh? You don't have to know them, and I'll try to make sure you don't have to see them. ... I know the above sounds absurd, but this deal has indeed been made. In exchange for money, a certain group of people have agreed to let your ...

The discussion of free speech zones and political expression took an interesting turn when Benjamin claimed to have been pulled out out of a Hillary Clinton rally for wearing a shirt that read “Troops. Home. Now.” Watch Benjamin: “I got pulled out of a Hillary Clinton rally for wearing this shirt.” Matthews: “No.” Benjamin: “Yes.” Matthews: “Pulled out of ...

Senate Rejects Expanding Detainee Rights

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate narrowly rejected legislation on Wednesday that would have given military detainees the right to protest their detention in federal court. The 56-43 vote fell four shy of the 60 votes needed to cut off debate on the bill, co-sponsored by Sens. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and Arlen Specter, R-Pa. It was a blow for human rights groups that say a current ban on habeas corpus petitions could lead to the indefinite detention of individuals wrongfully suspected of terrorism. President Bush and conservative Republicans counter that the ban, enacted last year, was necessary to stem the tide of legal protests flooding civilian courts. Among the 56 senators voting in ...
