Through a certain amount of dumb luck and the grace of God, a friend and I have received EVIDENCE that an Assistant Attorney General of TEXAS is also a "fully commissioned officer" of the FEDERAL Food and Drug Administration. This evidence consists of a letter written approximately 3 weeks ago and signed by the particular Assistant Attorney General to another officer within the "Open Records" department of the Texas Office of Attorney General (OAG). The letter from the dually-commissioned (State/federal) Assistant Attorney General, was sent to the Open Records department asking to be exempted from disclosing information that my friend had requested under the Texas ...

Lie detectors may be next step in airline security Reuters Published on ZDNet News: November 17, 2005, 12:10 PM PT A new walk-through airport lie detector made in Israel may prove to be the toughest challenge yet for potential hijackers or drug smugglers. Tested in Russia, the two-stage GK-1 voice analyzer requires that passengers don headphones at a console and answer "yes" or "no" into a microphone to questions about whether they are planning something illicit. The software will almost always pick up uncontrollable tremors in the voice that give away liars or those with something to hide, say its designers at Israeli firm Nemesysco. "In our trial, 500 ...

Theodore Roosevelt on Immigrants and being an American

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But. this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag ... and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as ...

Aren't You Nauseated Yet? By Ted Twietmeyer tedtw@frontiernet.net 11-18-5 Washington politics reminds one of the old wheel expression, "On and on it goes, where it stops, nobody knows." Anyone who is a self-respecting, God fearing patriot should be not just be nauseated. They should be sickened enough to throw up, IF they have been reading and listening to real news. We have an unstable lunatic running loose at 1600 Pa. Ave. Everyone should be terrified at the implications: No one seems to remember that GWB (supposedly -ed) has the Armageddon "briefcase" - the one with the nuclear launch codes. No one seems to remember that GWB ended the long-standing US nuclear ...

Any suggestions on FEMALES deserving of an opportunity to mess up humankind for the next 4 years? Hey, we can't do any WORSE than the fellas have done... and the old argument that women are too "emotional" is BS... Men are too PROUD, ARROGANT, IGNORANT, GREEDY, SELFISH, POWERMAD, DUMB, EGOTISTICAL, and yes, EMOTIONAL... and they possess entirely too much testosterone to be allowed to rule any longer... What would you like to see done in the first term of office? I'd like to see a fairly low, FLAT TAX tax enacted that is applied ACROSS THE BOARD to each and every person over the age of 19, NO EXCEPTIONS, that taxes ALL INCOME. This tax will also apply to every American ...

Bush's Betrayal Capitol Hill Blue By Doug Thompson November 18, 2005 Many words, none of them complimentary, describe the failed presidency of George W. Bush: Incompetent, immoral, illegal, deceptive, duplicitous, dumb, stupid, or corrupt. The list is endless. But the word that best describes Bush and his five years in office is betrayal, because above all he and the party he represents have betrayed just about everyone in sight. Bush and the Republicans have betrayed the American people who may or may not have voted him into office in 2000 and who may or may not have returned him there in 2004. They have betrayed the principles of a political party that – at one time – stood ...

Ex-MI5 chief sparks ID card row Stella Rimington said ID cards were unlikely to make Britain safer The case for identity cards has been branded "bogus" after an ex-MI5 chief said they might not help fight terror. Dame Stella Rimington has said most documents could be forged and this would render ID cards "useless". The Conservatives said her comments showed the cards could be counter-productive. The Lib Dems said plans should be abandoned. Downing Street has so far only said Dame Stella is a private individual who was entitled to her views. Her comments came as the government suffered a House of Lords defeat on the ID card plans. Peers said only those who ...

A New Federal War on Dissent? by James Bovard On October 15, 2003, the FBI sent Intelligence Bulletin #89 to 17,000 local and state law-enforcement agencies around the country. The bulletin warned of pending marches in Washington and San Francisco against Bush’s Iraq policy and stated, While the FBI possesses no information indicating that violent or terrorist activities are being planned as part of these protests, the possibility exists that elements of the activist community may attempt to engage in violent, destructive, or disruptive acts. The FBI catalogued some of the new threats to public safety: Several effective and innovative strategies are commonly used by protesters prior ...

In order to feel secure, are we throwing away our freedom?

In order to feel secure, are we throwing away our freedom? Ben Rosenfeld I'm not an NRA member or gun enthusiast. I have never owned a gun and probably never will. But I voted against San Francisco's Proposition H. As a civil-rights attorney, I am alarmed by people's increasing willingness to give up other people's rights. This tendency is at the root of the country's post-Sept. 11 lurch toward fascism, epitomized in Patriot Act provisions that gut First, Fourth, Fifth and 14th Amendment rights, authorizing government intrusions into people's homes and private lives as never before, all in the name of security. Government officials assure us that they only use these awesome powers ...

Public Comment Period for this rule Closes December 12, 2005 Public comments are now being accepted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on its newly proposed federal regulation regarding the testing of chemicals and pesticides on human subjects. On August 2, 2005, Congress had mandated the EPA create a rule that permanently bans chemical testing on pregnant women and children. But the EPA's newly proposed rule, misleadingly titled "Protections for Subjects in Human Research," puts industry profits ahead of children's welfare. The rule allows for government and industry scientists to treat children as human guinea pigs in chemical experiments in the following situations: ...

What's Inflation Worldnetdaily By Walter E. Williams November 16, 2005 Last month, President Bush nominated Dr. Ben S. Bernanke, currently chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers, as chairman of Federal Reserve Board to replace the retiring Alan Greenspan. Alan Greenspan's replacement comes at a time of heightened fears of inflation resulting from the recent spike in oil prices. First, let's decide what is and what is not inflation. One price or several prices rising is not inflation. When there's a general increase in prices, or alternatively, a reduction in the purchasing power of money, there's inflation. But just as in the case of diseases, describing a symptom ...

2A for CA by Jennifer Freeman Citizens of San Francisco recently voted to ban the possession, manufacture, distribution, sale and transfer of handguns and ammunition within their city. They have voluntarily stripped themselves of their Second Amendment rights and they have forcefully removed the rights of other citizens who disagree with their position. And while people across the country may have found this shocking, there are a number of ex-Californians who are not surprised in the least as banning firearms represents an integral element of the "progressive" movement as it strides toward a Communist regime. The National Rifle Association and Second Amendment Foundation have ...

A 'fiscal hurricane' on the horizon USA Today By Richard Wolf November 14, 2005 The comptroller general of the United States is explaining over eggs how the nation's finances are going to hell. "We face a demographic tsunami" that "will never recede," David Walker tells a group of reporters. He runs through a long list of fiscal challenges, led by the imminent retirement of the baby boomers, whose promised Medicare and Social Security benefits will swamp the federal budget in coming decades. The breakfast conversation remains somber for most of an hour. Then one reporter smiles and asks, "Aren't you depressed in the morning?" Sadly, it's no laughing matter. ...

Civil liberties in danger, says ex-intel official By RICHARD COWEN STAFF WRITER MAPLEWOOD - The man who leaked thousands of pages of top secret documents to the media in 1971 to expose the U.S. government's handling of the Vietnam War warned Saturday that another terrorist attack could permanently damage civil liberties. Daniel Ellsberg, the former U.S. intelligence official responsible for leaking the so-called Pentagon Papers to The New York Times and 18 other newspapers, told an audience of about 400 that the Bush administration most likely would respond to any terror attack on U.S. soil by severely restricting freedom of the press and the individual's right to speak out. Bush Deserves Blame for Tuesday's GOP Defeats Human Events by Robert Novak Nov 10, 2005 House Speaker Dennis Hastert and the House Republican campaign chairman, Rep. Tom Reynolds, were given a sobering warning last week by senior GOP political operatives. They were told that on Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Democrats were sure to win the governorship of Virginia. After that, the warning continued, the watchword within the House majority would be: Every man for himself! The victory of Democrat Tim Kaine over Republican Jerry Kilgore was the only contest in scattered off-year elections that was carefully monitored on Capitol Hill. For a liberal Virginian to win a Southern red state signaled that ...

GUN SHOW LAWSUIT ALLOWED TO PROCEED

GUN SHOW LAWSUIT ALLOWED TO PROCEED A federal judge has ruled that a lawsuit brought by gun show promoters Russ and Sally Nordyke can proceed and that they can argue that their free-speech rights are violated by an Alameda County ordinance that bans guns on county property. By banning firearms on County property the ordinance was designed to, and did, put the gun show out of business. In a tremendous victory for gun rights activists, on September 27, 2005 United States District Judge Martin Jenkins ruled that the gun show promoters, who had filed a lawsuit challenging the Alameda ordinance, could proceed with their case. The Nordykes promoted gun shows at the Alameda County Fairgrounds ...
