Police said Tuesday that a "suspicious device" found on the roof of a business after a fire earlier this month was a rocket. Authorities are attempting to determine whether the case is connected to a series of attacks on the Hemet Gang Task Force. The fire was reported June 3 at Los Altos Market in Hemet. Police said the nine-pound, inert training rocket malfunctioned and landed on the roof of the building, where firefighters found it after the blaze was extinguished. Authorities said the M29A2 rocket was pointed in the general direction of the Hemet Police Department, according to Southwest Riverside News Network. The discovery came amid an investigation into attacks against ...

American Politicians Serving Foreign Constituents

Polls across America reveal that Americans want to preserve their language and culture. The message is loud and clear but politicians, elected by you to serve you, and paid with your taxes, continue ignoring American citizens at every opportunity. It is obvious that the "fix" is in. Our Lords and Ladies in Washington, DC, have other plans . . . like corporate welfare, multiculturalism, misuse of social security, courting votes from growing numbers of illegal aliens and basically anything else that will compromise and undermine America’s English language, culture and heritage. Two hundred years ago, brave men, taxed without representation, stepped onto sailing ships for the ...

How much longer will California remain a part of the United States? Published on June 6th, 2010 California’s white population has declined since 2000 at an unprecedented rate, hastening the day when Hispanics will be the state’s largest population group, according to newly released state figures. Analysts said the decline can be attributed to two main causes – a natural population decrease as Baby Boomers enter their later years and die at a faster rate than younger whites have children, and a migration from California since 2001 among whites who sought affordable housing as real estate costs soared. The study also confirmed projections that a steadily growing Hispanic ...

The number of illegal immigrant college students paying in-state tuition and receiving financial aid at Texas' public colleges and universities continues to climb, according to state higher education records. During the fall semester, 12,138 students – about 1 percent of all Texas college students – benefited from the state law granting in-state tuition, according to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Most of the immigrants among those students are illegal, and some others are not legal permanent residents or U.S. citizens. Texas awarded about $33.6 million in state and institutional financial aid to those students between fall 2004 and summer 2008. In 2001, ...

Mexican and U.S. authorities were "secretly scrambling" last month to thwart a Mexican drug cartel's plot to blow up a Texas dam that would have flooded an area with about 4 million inhabitants, according to the Houston Chronicle's Dane Schiller and James Pinkerton. Law enforcement officials were reportedly tipped off to a plot when they found one of the handbills that the drug cartel Los Zetas was distributing on the Mexican side of the river, warning residents to clear out ahead of the explosion. Authorities found "small amounts of dynamite near the dam," the Chronicle said. Los Zetas wanted to blow up the Falcon dam not to hurt civilians, but to exact ...

Administration opposes Arizona law that penalizes hiring of illegal immigrants

The Obama administration on Friday urged the Supreme Court to review and set aside an Arizona law that sanctions employers who hire illegal immigrants, saying it would disrupt the "careful balance" that Congress struck in federal immigration law. The act in question is not the strict new Arizona law that President Obama and other members of his administration have criticized. That measure authorizes police to question the immigration status anyone who appears to be in the country illegally. The law being challenged, the Legal Arizona Workers Act, imposes tougher sanctions than federal law for hiring illegal workers. If the court chooses to hear the case, its ruling could show ...

Jim DeMint's bid to require completion of a 700-mile fence along the U.S.-Mexico border within a year. The 52-45 vote against DeMint's measure largely followed party lines, with Sen. George Voinovich of Ohio the only Republican to oppose it. Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Seneca, S.C., Republican, voted for the DeMint legislation. Four Democrats voted for setting a deadline to complete the border fence: Sens. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, John Rockefeller of West Virginia, Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Jon Tester of Montana. A public community college in California has set up a scholarship fund for immigrant students — including illegal immigrants. The $2,500 scholarship has sparked anger by some, including at least one lawmaker who is threatening to cut off federal funding to the school. Orange County's Santa Ana College says the controversial new memorial scholarship will be funded by private donations and honors former student Tan Ngoc Tran, a student leader and immigrant-rights activist who transferred to Brown University before she was killed by a drunk driver on May 15. Students eligible for the new scholarship must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average, demonstrate a financial need and ...

LA County Libertarian Examiner With seemingly never-ending angst and bickering over Arizona's recent immigration law SB 1070, proponents and supporters of the law have used several arguements in defense of it. ''It's 100% Constitutional, it simply mirrors existing federal law'', they insist. They will go on to assure that no 'racial profiling' is involved, that people won't be stopped based on race, and that people can only be asked for ID after they are stopped for legitimate and legal just cause, such as an alleged traffic violation. This brings me to my question which addresses the very crux of the issue. Do supporters of this law believe that police ...

Bloomberg Obama Lawyers Urge Top Court Review of Arizona Alien Hiring Law May 28, 2010, 6:36 PM EDT By Greg Stohr May 28 (Bloomberg) -- The Obama administration, joining forces with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, asked the Supreme Court to review an Arizona law that puts companies at risk of losing their corporate charters if they hire illegal aliens. Acting U.S. Solicitor General Neal Katyal urged the justices today in a court filing to hear the business trade group’s contentions that federal immigration law pre-empts the Arizona law. Katyal said the state measure “disrupts the careful balance struck by Congress.” The 2007 law is separate from the new Arizona statute ...

SALT LAKE CITY — While a Utah "driving privilege card" allows undocumented immigrants to drive on the state's roads, some immigrants are surprised that it won't help them maneuver into clubs that serve alcohol — or the concerts staged in them. About 25 aliens discovered that the hard way last weekend, when they expected to see Spanish rock star Enrique Bunbury at The Depot but were told that their driving privilege cards were not legal proof of age in Utah. WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's Democratic allies in the Senate have repelled a move by presidential rival John McCain to send an additional 6,000 National Guard troops to the U.S-Mexico border. The Arizona Republican says the security situation along the order has deteriorated so badly that 3,000 guard troops are needed just to help protect his state. But McCain failed to muster the required 60 votes for his plan as the Senate continued debate on an a war funding bill. Obama on Tuesday promised to send 1,200 Guard troops to the border to support efforts to block drug trafficking and temporarily supplement Border Patrol agents until more agents can be trained. Look at Mexico's laws Editor: These misguided Americans who believe we are racist toward illegal migrants ought to read the regulations and restrictions imposed by other countries. The Mexican government will bar foreigners if they upset "the equilibrium of the national demographics." If outsiders do not enhance the country's "economic or national interests" or are "not found to be physically or mentally healthy," they are not welcome. Neither are those who show "contempt against national Mexican sovereignty or security." They must not be economic burdens on society and must have clean criminal histories. LA County Libertarian Examiner Robert Rodriguez’ upcoming film 'Machete' reportedly has the intent of invoking a violent race war. A recent trailer for the film had the lead actor angrily introducing "a special Cinco de Mayo message to Arizona," in reference to their controversial new law SB 1070. While the airwaves and newspapers have been crowded with angst as well as praise for the new law, critics of the law actually come from both sides of the political spectrum. While seemingly in the minority, right leaning Constitutionalists and libertarians oppose the bill on privacy grounds as well as the fact that it is too invasive, allowing agencies to share private ...
