Perla Lopez hands a stack of papers to Baudeilio, a 44-year-old undocumented immigrant and day laborer. She has just helped him apply for Medi-Cal at the benefits center at St. John’s Community Health’s in South Los Angeles. “If you see anything you don’t understand from the county, come back here,” Lopez tells Baudeilio in Spanish. The application takes less than 20 minutes. The paperwork, though brief, marks a major milestone in California’s decades-long expansion of health care for undocumented immigrants. Beginning Jan. 1, for the first time, undocumented immigrants of all ages will qualify for Medi-Cal, the state’s health insurance program for ...

Chicago City Council Blocks Effort To Allow Citizens To Vote On Sanctuary City Status

When my family and I were driving back from Chicago, a vote of the city council was revealed that perfectly captured the hypocrisy and politics surrounding undocumented migrants in major cities. The council voted down an effort to allow voters to decide on whether Chicago should remain a sanctuary city. The measure was defeated 16-31. During our visit, there were distribution areas of undocumented families near my mother’s house on the Northside. There were also a large number of tents now near the park for the burgeoning homeless population. What is striking about the vote is the contrast to the prior adoption of sanctuary city measures.

1 Jaw-Dropping Number Could Be Americas End For centuries people left behind their homelands and traveled to the United States seeking freedom and opportunity. These immigrants built new, often prosperous, lives for themselves and contributed to the growth and development of this country. In just a few short years, Joe Biden’s open border policy has flipped the American dream where people are now coming to America and getting in line for free government services. Illegal immigrants are flooding across the southern border and taxing taxpayers as they overwhelm the welfare system. A new study took a hard look at the illegal immigrant crisis and the results are terrifying for American ...

A recent analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reveals that nearly 60 percent of households led by illegal immigrants use some form of welfare, while about 52 percent of households led by legal immigrants also use welfare, compared to fewer than 40 percent of native-born American households. The study highlights that immigrant-led households use more food stamps, Medicaid benefits, and the Earned Income Tax Credit than native-born households. The report comes as the foreign-born population in the U.S. reaches record highs under President Joe Biden, with an increase of 4.5 million since January 2021. The Lone Star State appealed the district court’s decision that allowed federal agents to destroy state border fences. Biden’s DHS agents can no longer destroy state Texas border barriers. - as Mayor Eric Adams calls Biden's lax immigration policies 'baffling' New York City Mayor Eric Adams again called out the Biden administration and the federal government over its 'baffling' inability to address the Big Apple's migrant crisis. Adams, a Democrat, has often clashed with the president and Democrats in Washington, constantly begging Washington for money to solve a disaster that he claimed will 'destroy my city.' It comes alongside the news there are now over 67,000 migrants living in the city's shelter system, over triple the 21,300 at this time last year. In a Sunday interview, Adams was asked why his fellow Democrats in DC have ignored ...

Sen. Manchin made the remarks during a Sunday interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union” while discussing negotiations between the Biden administration and the U.S. Senate. “They understand that the border is broken, that glass ceiling has been broken,” he said. “And we have got to stop this dangerous immigration that we have coming to our country from all over the world, ...

Homelessness Soars To Record High In America

Authored by Tom Ozimek via The Epoch Times, Homelessness has risen sharply in the United States, with a report from House and Urban Development (HUD) indicating that around 653,000 people were homeless, the highest number on record. Inflation combined with the end of pandemic-era protections against eviction were the key culprits identified in the HUD report, released on Dec. 15. Another major factor noted in the report was the housing supply crunch. HUD's annual 2023 Point-in-Time Count, which measured homelessness on a single night in January 2023, showed a 12 percent rise in homelessness (or by 70,650 individuals) compared to a year earlier. This sent the total to 653,104 ...

A group of Republicans are looking to ban President Joe Biden’s administration from siphoning healthcare resources from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) away from military veterans to illegal aliens arriving at the United States-Mexico border. On Wednesday, Rep. Mike Bost (R-IL) and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) introduced the “No VA Resources for Illegal Aliens Act” to block the VA from using its resources to provide healthcare services to illegal aliens at the southern border. The legislation, first reported by Fox News Digital’s Jamie Joseph and Adam Shaw, comes as Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been accused of siphoning VA healthcare ...

Federal agents can resume a practice of cutting wire barrier placed near the U.S. border with Mexico by Texas National Guard troops after a judge on Wednesday ruled against a request from the state of Texas to stop them from doing so. A temporary hold on cutting the barriers had been in place since October as part of an ongoing lawsuit that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed against the Department of Homeland Security that alleges cutting the barriers is damaging the state’s property. The temporary hold only protected barriers installed in the west Texas city of Eagle Pass, which has seen a steep increase in border crossings this year. The fight between state and federal ...

A long-standing agreement between the Department of Veterans Affairs and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to process claims for migrant medical care is drawing scrutiny from veterans’ advocates, who are concerned that it could jeopardize the agency’s mission of caring for veterans in the midst of an ongoing border crisis and existing complaints about veterans’ care. “I’d like to understand why the VA is involved,” Russ Duerstine, executive director of Concerned Veterans for America and a veteran of the United States Air Force, told Fox News Digital.

Biden’s Department of Justice has slapped a whopping $700,000 fine on Covenant Transport Inc. and the affiliated Transport Management Services LLC, both stellar examples of Tennessee’s robust transportation sector. The recent decision by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to impose a $700,000 fine on Covenant Transport Inc., a Christian trucking company based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, raises significant concerns about the overreach of federal power and the disregard for the realities faced by businesses in regulating their workforce. The DOJ, under Joe Biden’s regime, claims this measure is to resolve alleged violations of the anti-discrimination provision of the Immigration ...

Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via Modernity.news, In one of Henry Kissinger’s final interviews before his death at 100 years old, the former statesman warned that Germany had made a “grave mistake” in allowing so many migrants into the country. For decades, Kissinger was a leading member of the Bilderberg Group, a shadowy secret society that pushed globalism and open borders. However, just last month, in what may have been his final televised interview, Kissinger sounded a warning for the west. “It was a grave mistake to let in so many people of totally different culture and religion and concepts,” he told Politico, referring to Germany.
