Community is paying for inaction Post Date: 2006-05-30 20:05:06 by Tauzero

Community is paying for inaction Winter came early to Cronulla and its chill is spreading, writes Paul Sheehan. It was a 16th birthday party, a big one. About 100 teenagers were at a house in Clump Place, Green Valley, on Saturday night last week. Several adults kept an eye on proceedings. At 9 o'clock came the beginning of the nightmare dreaded by anyone who holds a big party - several carloads of uninvited young men arrived and wanted in. Most of the guests assembled at the front of the house to watch the verbal confrontation unfold. The unwanted visitors, described by numerous witnesses as appearing to be Lebanese, withdrew but certain things were said and threats made. With a ...

THE UNITED STATES IS GOING TO DIE By Frosty Wooldridge May 29, 2006http://NewsWithViews.com The commies of the ACLU are not going to let us do Attrition through Enforcement. The courts that are under their control will go along with them and force the illegals down our collective throats. Sorry, they win, we lose! If we are lucky, we may find a remote island somewhere, but face it, the United States is going to die and we can't stop it, said Bob K., retired US Army. Doesnt that curl your ears? When letters arrive like this one, I roar! We dont teach Americans to lose. Not a baseball game! Not in basketball! Not a tennis match! Not in football! Not a ...

Target: Tom Tancredo Some Say GOPPrimary Challenge Likely November 18, 2002 By Josh Kurtz He represents one of the most conservative districts in the nation. He just trounced his Democratic challenger by 37 points. Yet Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) may be one of the most vulnerable incumbents in the 2004 election cycle. Tancredo, a controversial, outspoken voice for the Republican right who is entering his third term, has angered leading Republicans back home and in the White House. The House Member's criticisms of President Bush's immigration policy bought him a 40-minute rebuke earlier this year from Bush adviser Karl Rove, who, in the Congressman's own words, warned him "never to ...
Democrats: The Illegal Alien Party Post Date: 2006-05-29 15:23:40 by alwaysontheright

Those foolish enough to believe there is no basic difference between Republicans and Democrats on illegal immigration, should study the results of the vote on HR 4437. That measure passed the House in December 2005, focused on border security and included no guest worker provision. The numbers: Yea No NV GOP 203 17 11 Demo 36 164 2 Ind 1 TOTALS 239 182 13 Once again, as with the senate bill, Demos voted for Mexico, against the US! Of course we Democrats are for secure borders! As soon as we get enough illegals in to vote for Democrats in 2008, we will want the border shut down!

The Press Trust of India reports that this move could greatly benefit thousands of Indian software professionals. The bill provides for doubling the H-1B visas to 115,000 and with a 2- percent increase on an annual basis. Various software and technology companies like Microsoft and Intel have been pressuring the U.S. Government by threatening to move jobs abroad if it does not raise the ...

JOHN W LILLPOP Thirteen years ago, Harry Reid had it EXACTLY right on illegal immigration. See the press release his office issued August 5, 1993. Why is he SO WRONG now? Could it be that Democrats realize they can no longer win elections by appealing to real Americans and need illegal aliens? Oath! Source: http://www.drudgereport.com/flash1hr.htm August 5, 1993 The Office of Sen. Harry Reid issued the following: In response to increased terrorism and abuse of social programs by aliens, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) today introduced the first and only comprehensive immigration reform bill in Congress. Currently, an alien living illegally in the United States often pays ...

December 7, September 11 and May 25 JOHN W LILLPOP December 7 and September 11. Two tragic days in American history marred by attacks on our beloved homeland by cowardly foreign enemies. May 25 now joins those dates in infamy, after the US Senate visited unimaginable horror upon We the People in the name of immigration reform. Bombs were not dropped on Americans as was the case on December 7. Planes were not used as weapons of mass destruction against commercial landmarks and the Pentagon as on 9/11. Nonetheless, the devastation inflicted by the US Senate upon the We the People was whithering. In a spiritual sense, May 25 may actually represent a greater disaster for We ...

JOHN W LILLPOP In a startling statement, White House Press Secretary Tony Snow suggested that illegal immigration is no more serious than a traffic citation. Snow went on to say the following with respect to the amnesty bill passed last week in the US Senate: "If you had a traffic ticket and you paid it, you're not forever a speeder, are you?" Snow said in response to questions. "So the fact is, you have paid your debt to society," he added. "And we have come up with a way to make sure that the debt to society gets paid. Then you move forward." http://www.examiner.com/a-120123~White_House_compares_illegal_immigration_to_speeding.html Snow's statement is ...
Immigration Deal at Risk as House GOP Looks to Voters Post Date: 2006-05-28 21:27:56 by Zipporah

Washington Post Staff Writers Sunday, May 28, 2006; A01 Republican House members facing the toughest races this fall are overwhelmingly opposed to any deal that provides illegal immigrants a path to citizenship -- an election-year dynamic that significantly dims the prospects that President Bush will win the immigration compromise he is seeking, according to Republican lawmakers and leadership aides. The opposition spreads across the geographical and ideological boundaries that often divide House Republicans, according to interviews with about half of the 40 or so lawmakers whom political handicappers consider most vulnerable to defeat this November. At-risk Republicans -- from ...
White House compares illegal immigration to speeding Post Date: 2006-05-28 17:22:03 by Zipporah

WASHINGTON - The White House on Friday said a Senate bill that would grant legal status to illegal immigrants is analogous to a traffic law that allows a speeder to pay a fine and continue driving. "If you had a traffic ticket and you paid it, you're not forever a speeder, are you?" White House Press Secretary Tony Snow said in response to questions from The Examiner. "So the fact is, you have paid your debt to society," he added. "And we have come up with a way to make sure that the debt to society gets paid. Then you move forward." The "traffic ticket" analogy raised eyebrows on Capitol Hill, where many House Republicans regard illegal ...

ARIVACA, Ariz. -- The agents who patrol the porous U.S.-Mexico border welcome proposals to clamp down on illegal immigration, but they also want a crackdown on employers who hire undocumented immigrants. In and around the Arizona border with Mexico, many of the 2,400 men and women of the Border Patrol support President George W. Bush's call to raise the total number of agents protecting the southern border by 6,000 to 18,000. They also support Thursday's Senate action to extend barriers erected along the border with Mexico and to deploy more vehicles and technologies to frustrate illegal entry. But they part ways with Bush on his guest worker program, a centerpiece of the Senate's ...

(05-27) 20:42 PDT , (AP) -- PALOMINAS, Ariz. Scores of volunteers gathered at a remote ranch Saturday to help a civilian border-patrol group start building a short security fence in hopes of reducing illegal immigration from Mexico. The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps plans to install a combination of barbed wire, razor wire, and in some spots, steel rail barriers along the 10-mile stretch of private land in southeastern Arizona. They hope it prompts the federal government to do the same along the entire Arizona border. President Bush has pledged to deploy as many as 6,000 National Guard troops to strengthen enforcement at the border. The guardsmen would fill in on some ...

New Delhi , May 27 In a move that will bring cheer to Indian IT professionals and industry, the US Senate has approved an Immigration Reform Bill that has a provision to increase the number of H-1B visas for skilled workers from 65,000 to 1,15,000. "This is a good step albeit a small one as the Senate-passed bill will now have to be harmonised with the bill passed by the House in December. The bigger challenge is in the House...We look forward to enhanced co-operation with our customers and partners," the Nasscom President, Mr Kiran Karnik, said. SALEM, Ore. The debate over immigration, which has filtered into almost every corner of American life in recent months, is now sweeping through the woods, and the implications could be immense for the upcoming fire season in the West. As many as half of the roughly 5,000 private firefighters based in the Pacific Northwest and contracted by state and federal governments to fight forest fires are immigrants, mostly from Mexico. And an untold number of them are working here illegally. A recent report by the inspector general for the United States Forest Service said illegal immigrants had been fighting fires for several years. The Forest Service said in response that it would work ...

US Senate Allows Citizenship To 10 Million Illegal Aliens By Our Correspondent WASHINGTON, May 26: The US Senate has passed a broad immigration reform bill which opens the door to citizenship for at least 10 million illegal immigrants living in the country. The bill, approved on Thursday in a 62-36 roll call, exempts businesses that have hired illegal workers from penalties and adds 370 miles of triple-wire fencing and 500 miles of vehicle barriers for sealing the US-Mexico border. It calls for deploying 3,000 border patrol agents on the border this year. Although Mexicans are the main beneficiaries of the bill, it will also help thousands of other illegal immigrants from countries like ...

House Pushes Back On Immigration BillWASHINGTON, D.C., May 26, 2006(AP) The House author of a border security bill that triggered massive street protests stood firm Friday against less stringent immigration legislation passed by the Senate and predicted tough negotiations on compromise legislation. The Senate passed its sweeping bill 62-36 Thursday after two weeks of debate and difficult votes that tested the strength of a coalition of bipartisan senators who supported the opportunity for U.S. citizenship that their bill would give most of the estimated 11 million to 12 million people who are in this country illegally. "This will set up a very difficult House-Senate conference ...

White Supremacists Ratchet Up Anti-Hispanic Action As U.S. Immigration Debate Rages New York, NY, May 24, 2006
As the national debate over immigration continues to hold the national spotlight, neo-Nazis and white supremacists have ratcheted up their anti-Hispanic action, using everything from Internet video games to street demonstrations and other confrontational tactics in an effort to exploit the debate as a means to spread hate. Their goal is to draw new attention to their hateful notions about minorities and hopes for making America a nation for "Whites only." The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which monitors and reports on the activities of far-right extremists, has ...

Police search for rape suspect Illegal immigrant accused of impregnating 10-year-old girl By JAMES OSBORNE The Monitor PHARR - Police said they are searching for a 21-year-old illegal immigrant accused of raping a 10-year-old family member and leaving her pregnant. Authorities were alerted to the case by a local doctor, who discovered the girl's pregnancy during a routine medical exam last Friday, Pharr police Lt. Guadalupe Salinas said. The girl was subsequently taken to the Children's Advocacy Center in Edinburg where she told staff that her 21-year-old relative, Pedro Guzman Muñoz, had raped her, police said. It is the Valley Morning Star's policy to not identify victims of ...

May 26, 2006 The House is the only obstacle that stands between President Bush and a comprehensive immigration bill, and the White House yesterday predicted that the chamber's Republicans will give in. White House press secretary Tony Snow said House Republicans will want to pass border security badly enough to back down from the fight against what many consider amnesty for illegal aliens, knowing there is a "heavier political price for failing to act, than for acting." "If you are a Republican member of Congress and you're concerned about illegal immigration, do you really want to say to your constituents: You know, I'm going to wait a couple of years before I take up the ...

Opponents of any kind of national ID card will be aghast at New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg's idea for a national DNA or fingerprint database designed to track the citizenship of all workers. Bloomberg defended his idea: "We already have a unique identification card for everybody that works in this country," reports the New York Sun. "It's called your Social Security card, so this is not a civil liberties issue. In the day and age when everybody's got a PC on their desk with Photoshop that can replicate anything, it's become a joke. You can go buy a green card or a Social Security card for 50 bucks. I'm told it's so competitive sometimes you can get two for the price of ...

James Dawute, 53, is believed to have arrived from Ghana as a visitor, then stayed on unlawfully when his visa expired. Last night a senior Whitehall source admitted: He should have been booted out. A second inquiry to establish how Dawute gained the right to remain in Britain is also now underway. Disclosures about his background add to the scandals already plaguing the Home Offices beleaguered Immigration and Nationality Directorate. The crisis has already cost Immigration Minister ...

Remember back to what the immigration issue was about when it began to concern Conservatives. It had nothing to do with racism, guest worker programs, fences along the border, or questions of amnesty. It was about the United States government refusing to enforce the law. We thought it was wrong for people, who came into the country illegally, to be given free college tuition, released back into the general population after they committed a crime, rather than being immediately deported, issued drivers licenses, and free medical care. Not because we are cruel and heartless people who do not care about the suffering of others, but because our government had decided to enforce the laws ...

WASHINGTON, May 25 The negotiations between the White House and Congress that will follow the Senate's passage on Thursday of an immigration bill could decide not just how the nation confronts illegal immigration but also what strain of conservatism the Republican Party carries into the midterm elections and beyond. Will it be the compassionate brand Mr. Bush considers crucial to the party's future, in this case by signaling support for a provision in the Senate bill that would give most illegal immigrants an opportunity to become legal? Or will it be the more doctrinaire variety embraced by much of Mr. Bush's party in the House, one that shuns anything that smacks of amnesty for ...
