font face=geneva>U.S. Border Patrol officers are being shifted away from their posts guarding the U.S.-Mexico border to aid in the Katrina Hurricane disaster, leaving the country vulnerable to illegals and terrorists attempting to enter the U.S., NewsMax has learned. The Bush administration ordered the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the federal agency charged with securing the border, to provide manpower, assets, and humanitarian support to Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts, which has some border state residents nervous that the thin red line of protection from the plague of illegals, drug smugglers and gang members will be stretched even thinner. CBP is the unified border ...

Wednesday, August 31, 2005 Why isnt Bush on the border? Pat Buchanan Published on Monday, August 29, 2005, in the Tracy Press. WASHINGTON On Aug. 12, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson declared a state of emergency due to a chaotic situation involving illegal alien smuggling and illegal drug shipments on his southern border. Three days later, Gov. Janet Napolitano followed suit in Arizona. Reason: the crisis on the border. The ally-ally-in-free immigration policy of George Bush and Vicente Fox, beloved of corporate America, has created a hell on our southern border. Those Southwestern states are being inundated by illegal aliens trashing ranches, killing cattle, ...

Two new reports released today by the Center for Immigration Studies examine the role of immigration control in our efforts to prevent further terrorist attacks on American soil. Both point to the profound security challenges posed by a federal government policy of mass immigration and lax enforcement of the law. The first paper, "Immigration and Terrorism: Moving Beyond the 9/11 Staff Report on Terrorist Travel," illustrates how 94 Islamist terrorists used the immigration system to infiltrate and embed in the United States. The author is Janice L. Kephart, counsel for the 9/11 Commission and an author of the Commission staff's report on terrorist travel. Other than the ...

The immigration boom from Latin America and Asia that has significantly increased the population in Fairfax and Loudoun counties is also raising concerns about new tuberculosis cases in the region. In Loudoun County, health department Director David Goodfriend said 86 percent of the 15 tuberculosis cases this year originated in foreign countries. "Most are from Central and South America because most of the population we get is from there," Dr. Goodfriend said. The situation is typical of a region with a large number of immigrants, he said. Health officials said 60 percent to 65 percent of cases in Virginia originated outside the country. Fairfax County health officials ...

They support illegal immigration, a separatist movement, and the forced removal of US territory. While we do not feel they are credible, we do feel they are making terrorist threats from US soil. Mr Smith, a professional cannonball, was launched head first across the border between Tijuana, in Mexico, and the US city of San Diego. His son, also a human cannonball, says Mr Smith is the first person to be fired across an international border. Mr Smith waved his passport in the air as he sat on the lip of the cannon, before leaving on the brief journey. One inmate was killed during the uprising at the prison east of San Diego and 25 inmates and 25 guards were injured. Just the one fatal round was fired, from a semiautomatic rifle, said Terry Thornton, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Bush Administration Plans Push for Illegals WASHINGTON - The White House is planning a new push to change the nations immigration laws, looking in part for businesses to lobby Congress to pass measures that give more foreign-born workers legal status while also toughening lax enforcement. But the conflicting interests of President Bushs big-business supporters, who believe the economy needs more workers, and Republican Party conservatives - many of whom have made a top priority of clamping down on illegal immigration in the name of national security - threaten the prospects for a quick deal. The White House and its allies are looking to businesses for help in selling and ...

Gov. Janet Napolitano on Monday declared a state of emergency along Arizona's border with Mexico, freeing up $1.5 million in disaster funds to help border counties combat booming illegal immigration and drug smuggling. While the threat of terrorists attacking the US is regularly one of the top news headlines on a daily basis, real terror that has already claimed the lives of 600 people this year is being routinely ignored or downplayed by the mainstream media. Mexican drug commando organization los Zetas has been carrying out kidnappings of American citizens and politically motivated assassinations which have stretched from the border town of Nuevo Laredo through to Dallas, Houston and ...

PHOENIX, United States (AFP) - Arizona ignored pleas for greater cooperation from Mexican President Vicente Fox to become the second US state to declare a state of emergency on its border due to rising illegal immigration, violence and smuggling. Four days after New Mexico declared a 90 day state of emergency for border areas, Arizona did the same for its four counties on the Mexican frontier, citing uncontrolled illegal immigration. "The federal government has to secure our border, and the health and safety of all Arizonans is threatened daily by violent gangs, coyotes (human traffickers) and other dangerous criminals," said Arizona governor Janet Napolitano in a statement. ...

Immigration and the Welfare State Rep. Ron Paul | August 8, 2005 More and more of my constituents are asking me when Congress will address the problem of illegal immigration. The public correctly perceives that neither political party has the courage to do what is necessary to prevent further erosion of both our border security and our national identity. As a result, immigration may be the sleeper issue that decides the 2008 presidential election. The problem of illegal immigration will not be solved easily, but we can start by recognizing that the overwhelming majority of Americans- including immigrants- want immigration reduced, not expanded. Amnesty for illegal immigrants is not the ...

Several Texas Congressmen are quietly circulating a proposal to approve 'deputized civilians' as an auxiliary to the U.S. Border Patrol, 1200 WOAI news reported today. The so called "Border Protection Corps" would consist of volunteers who go through a background check and receive training, and would then accompany Border Patrol officers as they search for illegal aliens and drug activity. "These would be volunteers who go through training, don't have a criminal background, who don't use firearms, and who would serve in a backup capacity to the Border Patrol," said U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), who is one of the backers of the proposal. The chief sponsor, U.S. ...

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - The banking industry is opening its doors to a controversial new market: illegal immigrants. Despite heated political debate in Washington over illegal immigration in the United States, an increasing number of banks are seeing an untapped resource for growing their own revenue stream and contend that providing undocumented residents with mortgages will help revitalize local communities. It's a win-win situation, they say. But skeptics worry about the message these home loans send to illegal immigrants: break our laws and we'll reward you with a home. "It's institutionalizing illegality," said Marti Dinerstein, president of Immigration Matters, a New ...
