Russian parliament admits guilt over Polish massacre Symbolic acknowledgment of culpability over Katyn murders in 1940 signals Russia's willingness to face up to its past In a symbolic admission of guilt, Russia's parliament has declared that Joseph Stalin ordered his secret police to execute 22,000 Polish army officers and civilians in 1940, in one of the greatest mass murders of the 20th century. Today's acknowledgment of Stalin's personal culpability over the Katyn massacre comes amid a cautious thaw between Moscow and Warsaw, whose recent relations have been thorny at best. It was also seen as a sign that Russia may finally be ready for muted self-scrutiny over its ...

Exposing Israel's Fraudulent Third Periodic Report to the UN - by Stephen Lendman On October 18, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights offered an "Alternative Report" response to Israel's submission, sent to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR). Submitting to the UN, Aharon Leshno Yaar, Israel's Permanent Representative to Geneva said "Israel was proud of its long-lasting recognition of the inherent dignity and the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family," omitting to explain he means only Jews, no others, especially Muslims. State belligerence for over six decades proves it. PCHR reviewed recent facts, ...

Tubas and a Bipolar Locomotive

Sometimes the the archives give up some amazing items. Recently the University of Washington Digital Collection shared this photo by adding it to my Flickr Group King County Creative Commons. The picture - with no known copyrights and taken by an unknown photographer - shows a group of Tuba players from Seattle's Franklin High School standing at the nose of locomotive on Snoqualmie Pass in 1938. While the purpose of this photo is lost to the ages, the class assignment seems to have tubas mimicking a loud train horn. Catchy! While locomotives do have loud horns, it is interesting to note that the picture was taken with possibly the most silent railroad locomotive ever made. To conquer ...

THE U.S. IS A CORPORATION SHIPWRECK ON THE SEA OF SOULS

The united states of America (note lower case) was incorporated in 1868/71 by the Roman Catholic institute. The united states of America could not stay sovereign and trade with nations already within the Oleron Law system. This is why events were engineered to destroy the sovereignty of America and bring about the 14th Amendment making all State citizens now property of this corporation D.C. In truth D.C. controls no where on the mainland other than its small patch. Its upon sovereign land as is the Vatican City which controls it and The City of London. Its dominated by Georgetown 'military fortress' University and the Jesuit U.S Conference President. Washington D.C. sits on ...

THANKSGIVING FOR THE TIMES

"The New York Times," that is. In the November 20 issue of the good gray lady, titled "The Pilgrims Were . . . Socialists?" Kate Zernike reveals a startling fact: there is an interpretation of the first Thanksgiving that is circulating inside the Tea Party. This interpretation insists that the Pilgrims were socialists. Not commies, you understand, but pinkos at the very least. Can you believe such a thing? Can you imagine anything so off-the-wall nuts? Well, yes, I can. That's because I earned a Ph.D. in history. My specialty was colonial American history. My sub-specialty was Puritan New England. I wrote my dissertation on "The Concept of Property in ...

Germany and England by: Nesta Webster Prefatory comments by Jackie P. THIS is the little book that opened my eyes about the mass of massive lies we've all been told about Germany under National Socialism, and specifically it's Chancellor, Adolf Hitler. To my mind the greatest lie was that "Adolf Hitler planned to conquer the world and enslave the inhabitants of all nations". In reality the ones making those accusations are the ones who plan to conquer the world. The defeat of Germany was a defeat for all the inhabitants of the world, just as Adolf Hitler predicted. The group promulgating that big lie was successful in its efforts to instill a deep sense of both fear ...

CAIRO — Egypt's antiquities authority says the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will return 19 artifacts taken from the tomb of the famed boy-pharaoh Tutankhamun. Antiquities chief Zahi Hawass says the trove is made up of small figurines and jewelry, including a miniature bronze dog, a sphinx-shaped bracelet trinket and a necklace. "This is a wonderful gesture on the part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art," Hawass said in a statement Wednesday. "For many years the museum, and especially the Egyptian art department, has been a strong partner in our ongoing efforts to repatriate illegally exported antiquities." The antiquities authority said the Egyptian ...

Native Blood: The Myth of Thanksgiving
Post Date: 2010-11-14 10:58:06 by Red Jones

Native Blood: The Myth of Thanksgiving Mike E Kasama, November 13, 2010 The Puritan colonists of Massachusetts embraced a line from Psalms 2:8. "Ask of me, and I shall give thee, the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession." It is a deep thing that people still celebrate the survival of the early colonists at Plymouth — by giving thanks to the Christian God who supposedly protected and championed the European invasion. The real meaning of all that, then and now, needs to be continually excavated. The myths and lies that surround the past are constantly draped over the horrors and tortures of our present. Every schoolchild ...

Lincoln’s Mailbag By TED WIDMER The election of Nov. 6 was big news, to put it mildly. In the days following, newspaper headlines screamed it from one city to another, across the not very united states. As Adam Goodheart wrote earlier, the telegraph allowed the results to be known nearly as quickly as we would know today. Now, thanks to another marvel of technology — the Internet — we can see the private telegrams and letters that Lincoln himself was seeing, as Americans exhaled and realized, to their amazement, that he had pulled it off. In the days following the verdict, an enormous range of Americans, from all walks of life, wrote to their president-elect to express ...

41 Facts About The History Of Central Banks In The United States That Our Children Are No Longer Taught In School

Today, most American students don't even understand what a central bank is, much less that the battle over central banks is one of the most important themes in U.S. history. The truth is that our nation was birthed in the midst of a conflict over taxation and the control of our money. Central banking has played a key role in nearly all of the wars that America has fought. Presidents that resisted the central bankers were shot, while others shamefully caved in to their demands. Our current central bank is called the Federal Reserve and it is about as "federal" as Federal Express is. The truth is that it is a privately-owned financial institution that is designed to ensnare the ...

The 9400 Who Went Down with The Wilhelm Gustloff

The MV Wilhelm Gustloff was a German KdF flagship, during 1937-1945, constructed by the Blohm & Voss shipyards. It sank after being hit by three torpedoes fired by the Soviet submarine S-13 on 30 January 1945 with the loss of life thought to be about 9,400 casualties – the greatest loss of life in a maritime disaster in history. The ship was named after Wilhelm Gustloff, the assassinated German leader of the Swiss Nazi party. It was requisitioned into the Kriegsmarine (German Navy) on 1 September 1939 and served as a hospital ship during 1939 and 1940. Beginning on 20 November 1940, it was stripped of medical equipment and repainted from its hospital ship colors (white with a ...

Virginia's Black Confederates
Post Date: 2010-11-02 06:49:40 by Ada

One tragedy of war is that its victors write its history and often do so with bias and dishonesty. That's true about our War of 1861, erroneously called a civil war. Civil wars, by the way, are when two or more parties attempt to take over the central government. Jefferson Davis no more wanted to take over Washington, D.C., than George Washington, in 1776, wanted to take over London. Both wars were wars of independence. Kevin Sieff, staff writer for The Washington Post, penned an article "Virginia 4th-grade textbook criticized over claims on black Confederate soldiers," (Oct. 20, 2010). The textbook says that blacks fought on the side of the Confederacy. Sieff claims that ...

The Rothschilds & The Civil War Excerpted From 'Descent Into Slavery' By Des Griffin Chapter Five 10-23-7 It would be extraordinarily naive to even consider the possibility that a family as ambitious, as cunning and as monopolistically minded as the Rothschilds could resist the temptation of becoming heavily involved on the American front. Following their conquest of Europe early in the 1800s, the Rothschilds cast their covetous eyes on the most precious gem of them all -- the United States. America was unique in modern history. It was only the second nation in history that had ever been formed with the Bible as its law book. Its uniquely magnificent Constitution was ...

NAFTA: Ross Perot and Al Gore Debate 1993 (1/8)

See the link to the chart for the results of trade with Mexico. The year NAFTA was ratified, America had a $1 billion trade surplus with Mexico. By 1995, America had a $16 billion trade deficit with Mexico. Today, America's trade deficit with Mexico is $74 billion. The facts in the chart make President Clinton, Vice President Gore and all the newspaper editors who wrote editorials supporting NAFTA look like complete idiots or worse. Ross Perot was absolutely right even though he was not effective in the debate. Again, no matter what your views are on NAFTA, the chart (link below) speaks for itself. Also, this video is significant because it documents how NAFTA was sold to America by ...

Lincoln and his Lopsided Face

We all have a good side. The problem is when the other side is horrible. Now, a new research has confirmed this in the case of President Abraham Lincoln. Laser scans of a bronze and a plaster copy of two life masks of Lincoln's face, belonging to the Chicago History Museum, show the 16th president's degree of facial asymmetry. "Life masks were in vogue in the 1860s. Lincoln cooperated with sculptors to make them twice, in 1860 before his first presidential nomination, and in 1865, two months before his assassination. Lincoln probably did it for political purposes more than posterity. It's the equivalent of TV face time now," said James Cornelius, curator at the ...
