Last night I took a guess at Beachy's bozo count. Today he spilled the beans and indicated that the number I guessed, between 40 and 50, was substantially correct. Beachy Spills the Beans What does this mean? Well .... it means he is a piss poor excuse for excuse for an advocate. Nobody takes him serious. This is probably why Goldi booted him.

Evangelical Christians donate USD 37 million in 2006, most to Israel but some to Jews in the former Soviet Union Last month, the US-based International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) said it donated some $37 million in aid to Israel and the Jewish people in 2006 – $20 million of which were given during last summer’s war with Hizbullah. The IFCJ channels millions of dollars to Israel every year, the sum total of donations by evangelical Christians who believe that the return of the Jewish people to Israel signals the coming of "the last days," fulfilling a prophecy they say will hasten the "second coming" of Jesus Christ. IFCJ founder and ...

It won't be for reasons of modesty - Radcliffe, 17, has shown himself to be remarkably relaxed about exposing his naked body to the world - but there are those who wonder whether this full-on display, in the West End revival of Peter Schaffer's play Equus, could prove ultimately damaging to the teenage star's career. Rear view: Daniel Radcliffe spends a full 10 minutes on stage naked in Equus Already extremely famous for doing one thing - playing a boy wizard - there is a danger, they argue, that he could end up being known for doing one other thing - getting his kit off. More clothes: Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter In the play, enjoying its first major revival since it ...

New York Magazine's Head Doctors Analyze Bush: Andrew Ferguson

Feb. 13 (Bloomberg) -- I know, I know: It is a fool's errand to attempt to trace the intellectual genealogy of the people who put out New York magazine, which so rarely offers any intellectual content at all. But the recent feature from the Feb. 5 issue, ``Bush on the Couch: Analyzing the President,'' in which 13 writers subject George W. Bush to a long-distance psychiatric exam, tempts us to try anyway. Pretending that your political adversary is crazy -- rather than merely misguided, mistaken or misinformed -- is a relatively recent strategy of political partisans. It coincides with the rise of the pseudo-intellectual among the country's cultural elite. There are lots ...

The Honorable Paul S. Sarbanes 309 Hart Senate Office Building Washington DC, 20510 Dear Senator Sarbanes, As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you. My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do ...

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A Texas bodybuilder suing Pat Robertson contends the religious broadcaster walked into federal court for a legal proceeding and told him: ``I am going to kill you and your family.'' According to a complaint Phillip Busch filed with the Norfolk police, Robertson made the threat when he entered a room in the courthouse Wednesday to be questioned for a deposition. ``There was no such threat,'' said Robertson's attorney, Glen Huff. Busch is suing Robertson for what he says is misappropriation of his image to promote Robertson's protein diet shake. Robertson has been touting his ``age-defying'' weight-loss shake for five years on his ...

Eugene police Lt. Jennifer Bills has held a number of different assignments during her 13 years on the force. Trying to converse over coffee, Eugene police Lt. Jennifer Bills keeps getting interrupted by the small radio speaker attached to her uniform's lapel. "Yesterday we had a cougar on the loose and an officer accidentally shot in the foot by another officer," Bills says apologetically. "It's been kind of hectic." But in truth, Bills thrives on the hectic and unpredictable challenge of police work, which helps explain why she has climbed the ranks from rookie officer to lieutenant during her 13 years with the Eugene force. It's a climb even some of ...

A reader writes: A reader once wrote to you about the way that liberals relentlessly employ the overlap fallacy: "Any Exception Disproves the Tendency." Here are a few other tools I've found that liberals (and neoconservatives) frequently break out: Argument from anecdote: Do I even need to give an example? The "apple pie" success stories of Mexican illegals in major newspapers will suffice to illustrate this sort of thing. Statistics are no match for sugar-coated anecdotes where liberals, neoconservatives, special interest groups, and open-borders libertarians are concerned. One of my favorite variants comes in the form of a rhetorical question suggesting that ...

LAUSANNE, Switzerland - A ruling by Switzerland's highest court released Friday has opened up the possibility that people with serious mental illnesses could be helped by doctors to take their own lives. Switzerland already allows physician-assisted suicide for terminally ill patients under certain circumstances. The Federal Tribunal's decision puts mental illnesses on the same level as physical ones -Snip Poster Comment: If legal in America, and if a physician deemed some, or all, of our ruling elite were deemed mentally ill, I'd be honored to host a Happy Hour that would make Jack Kevorkian proud.

I watched with dismay yesterday, as ILLEGAL immigrants disrupted our cities, and made demands on our nation that they are not entitled to have. They demanded that we change our laws. They demanded that we END the laws. They are actively engaging in an attempt to overthrow our government...because we are a nation of laws. Laws they will not obey, and challenge us to enforce. How did this happen? When Bill Clinton gave amnesty to 3 million illegals, that was supposed to be the end of it. Why wasn't it? It was the election of George W Bush, who gutted the Border Patrol, ended enforcement of our immigration laws, and with a nod and a wink at the southern border, gave his tacit ...

Molly Ivins was not only a popular and elegant writer, but also the most fervent and dedicated critic of President Bush, a fellow Texan whom she had reduced to a single word with her book, Shrub. Which has made the president's public mourning of her passing all the more gracious. "Molly Ivins was a Texas original,'' said Bush, who originally came from a line of Connecticut Yankees who had adopted the Lone Star state as home and became something of an original himself, managing partner of the Texas Rangers, governor and finally, of course, president. And Bush, who had conceded in a radio interview just this week that "I'm not that good at pronouncing ...

Homocon, an abbreviation of the (often pejorative) term "homoconservative" was coined in reference to GLBT people who adopt politics considered right-wing by traditionally leftist advocates of gay rights such as Queer Nation and the Gay Liberation Front. The rising popularity of Log Cabin Republicans illustrates a radical shift from the days when gay Republicans such as Roy Cohn and J. Edgar Hoover hid same-sex attractions deep in their closets. Homocons are men and women who assert conservative politics while acknowledging homosexual subjectivities. The rising prominence of homocons in such popular publications as The New York Times, The New Republic and The Los Angeles Times, ...

TAMPA - A young woman was walking back to her car after the Gasparilla parade on Saturday when she says a man dragged her behind a building and raped her near the intersection of Howard and Swann. She managed to get away and called 911. Police took her to the hospital and began a routine rape investigation. When they started checking the victim's background, they discovered she had an arrest warrant out for her. It was from an arrest when the woman was a juvenile and she was accused of not paying restitution. The woman says she was not aware there was a warrant out for her, and her attorney says it appears to be a paperwork error. "They were more interested in prosecuting her ...

Are you saving yourself for your wedding night? The Devil wants you to fail, that’s why he puts stumbling blocks in your way. But God wants you to succeed, and that’s why he has given us an alternative to intercourse before marriage: anal sex. Through anal sex, you can satisfy your body’s needs, while you avoid the risk of unwanted pregnancy and still keep yourself pure for marriage. You may be shocked at first by this idea. Isn’t anal sex (sodomy) forbidden by the Bible? Isn’t anal sex dirty? What’s the difference between having anal sex before marriage and having regular intercourse? Let’s address these issues by debunking some myths about anal sex and ...

The Intellectually Gratifying Practice of Fluffing Bush

To put it bluntly, I have little use for Bush-bashers. Their song is old and tired. Their mordantly indignant tirades serve to degrade not only the office of the president, but the intellectual stature of Americans in the eyes of the world. While there is always room for genuine, thoughtful, intellectual debate, debate that supposes solutions over rhetoric, Americans have grown tolerant to the small-minded practice of Bush-bashing. If there is anything that reduces the image of Americans around the globe, it is the stunted, acerbic, bullhorn mentality of America's Fifth Column and those who join in their caustic idiom. For the record, while I agree with much of what the president ...

At a time when the conservative movement is looking bereft, humbled by midterm-election defeats and hungering for a presidential candidate to rally around, Jeb Bush delivered yesterday in Washington a resounding endorsement of conservative principles, bringing his audience repeatedly to its feet. In his lunchtime remarks to the Conservative Summit, Bush struck every conservative chord, blaming Republicans' defeat in November on the party's abandonment of tenets including limited government and fiscal restraint. "Don't take offense personally if I get mad at Congress," the Republican former Florida governor began. "It's important for us to realize we lost, ...

As any long time reader with a brain can see, I'm always wrong with my predictions. At the onset of the Iraqi war I claimed that the WMD would be found within six months. I predicted that democracy would be installed within a year. I predicted Tom DeLay would be exhonorated and that Libby would never go to trial. I first told you that there was no insurgency in Iraq and then I told you that there was no civil war. The list is endless and can be viewed in the LP archives. But this doesn't matter. What really matters is the story that I weave with the help of Fox News and the AM Radio shills. Only libs care about what really happened out there and only libs compare what people said ...
