Someone sold a whopper to Burger King employees in Morro Bay, California. On Saturday night, a prankster allegedly rang up the fast food chain outlet, claiming to be a representative of the local fire department. The caller then told employees that there was a gas leak and the workers should smash windows to help with ventilation. According to the The Tribune, the workers complied. When the city's public safety team showed up, including the fire and police departments, they found "extensive damage to the windows, but no gas leak." The matter is currently being investigated. Most do-gooderism is absolutely terrible in its real impact. Whatever is given to da po folks takes them out of the market for things they'd most definitely otherwise be buying. I'm thinking of soup kitchens aka free restaurants and groceries, but the cases here will amaze you as the writer makes you laugh! Not too sure about his lambasting of attempts to eat locally though. Let's say suchan eatery manages to feature things that have always been grown in an area rather than trying to make longtime imports work in the local environment? I suppose this is a good story for a Saturday night, almost Halloween. This is sort of personal, but not so much so that it's not worth sharing. I'm curious what ya'll think of this. Larry and I were best friends since age 8! He was a great guy. He was always a ladies man, and a brawler- a tough guy.
