Profile of a Rigged Peace Process by Stephen Lendman Count the ways. Tzipi Livni is Israel's chief negotiator. She's hardline. She supports occupation harshness. She deplores Palestinian sovereignty. She's a wolf in sheep's clothing. She's an unindicted war criminal. She favors Pax Israeliana. She does so in the worst sense. She doesn't negotiate. She demands. Isaac Molho's attending. He's Netanyahu's personal envoy. He represents his hardline views. They're one way. They spurn Palestinian rights. Molho's a senior E.S. Shimron, I. Molho, Persky & Co. partner. He practices corporate law, company liquidations and rehabilitation, ...

More than a week after Google disabled Press TV’s YouTube account, the internet giant has yet to explain why it blocked the alternative TV channel’s access to the video sharing site. “We have contacted Google several times since last Thursday, when Google prevented us from uploading new videos, but (we) have not received any concrete response as to why they did it,” said Hamid Reza Emadi, Press TV’s newsroom director. Emadi said Press TV’s YouTube page is “up and running as we speak, but we do not have admin access to the page and cannot add or remove any material.” He said many Press TV viewers and subscribers email the channel, asking for an ...

Joe Klein: Immigration will save the U.S. from White racism
Post Date: 2013-07-30 04:07:39 by Big Meanie

Writing in Time, Joe Klein presents the view that it is necessary to import millions of non-Whites as a cure for “our poisonous biracial era.” The subtitle says it all: “Trayvon’s Death Is an Outrage, But …Thanks to immigration, stronger laws and years of hard work, our poisonous biracial era is ending.” Yes, we are nearing the promised land of racial harmony that will be possible only when those evil Whites are a minority. Not surprisingly, Klein looks forward eagerly to a non-White majority America: This is not the 1980s; race isn’t the issue it was 30 years ago. It isn’t binary–black and white–anymore. It’s a ...

The Illusion of Israeli/Palestinian Peace for Our Time

The Illusion of Israeli/Palestinian Peace for Our Time by Stephen Lendman Talks take place in Washington. Doing so alone assures betrayal and failure. It's certain. America one- sidedly favors Israel. It's duplicitous. It's no honest broker. It never was. It's not now. No legitimate Palestinian leader would permit Washington's involvement. Collaborators betray their people by doing so. Talks began Monday night. They did so informally. A State Department statement said the following: "Today, Secretary Kerry spoke with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and personally extended an invitation to send senior ...

The Boycott of Israel Eight Years In
Post Date: 2013-07-28 19:37:40 by Buzzard

Part I – Happy Birthday, BDS The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement directed toward Israel is eight years old. It was started back in 2005, when a coalition of Palestine-based social and economic organizations called for such a comprehensive effort. At first the BDS movement appeared to be a long shot. Israel, with its worldwide coterie of Zionist supporters, both Jewish and Christian, seemed invincible. Particularly in the Western world, the belief in Israel’s legitimacy had reached the status of sacred tradition. The Zionists worked very hard to achieve this status by controlling the historical interpretation of events that had led from World War I and the ...

Palestinians Oppose Fake Peace Talks

Palestinians Oppose Fake Peace Talks by Stephen Lendman They begin Tuesday in Washington. They're orchestrated to fail. Israel and America don't negotiate. They demand unconditional surrender. PA coup d'etat president Abbas is a longtime collaborator. Chief PA negotiator Saeb Erekat's a convenient stooge. He, Abbas and other PA conspirators represent Israel, not Palestine. They're well rewarded for doing so. Their history reflects duplicity and betrayal. They enforce Israeli harshness. On July 28, Addameer headlined "The Palestinian Authority police thwart demonstration in Ramallah against political negotiations; arresting four and attacking dozens of ...

Israel Spurns Peace and Justice

Israel Spurns Peace and Justice by Stephen Lendman They're verboten. They're off the table. They always were. They are now. Upcoming peace process pretense masks reality. Initiatives were stillborn from inception. They remain so. Palestinians genuinely want peace. Israel categorically denies them. Issues mattering most remain unresolved. Upcoming talks exclude them. Israel wants unconditional surrender. Don't bet against it. It happened many times before. Dark side justice awaits. This time's no different. Israelis are as out of touch as Americans. Netanyahu's Israel's worst ever prime minister. He mocks democratic values. He spurns justice. He deplores peace. ...

Marketing 'no-blacks' apartment buildings in Tel Aviv
Post Date: 2013-07-27 19:18:47 by X-15

Last week Army Radio reported that real estate agencies in south Tel Aviv are advertising “clean apartments.” According to Army Radio’s web site, a real estate agent said, “we don’t let foreign workers rent the apartments. If there are foreigners, then they’re Nepali or Filipino – normal people.” Whoever listened to the radio broadcast could hear the agent say, “not blacks.” For some unknown reason, those two words were omitted from Army Radio’s report on the web. Presumably we won’t hear the prime minister, president, or any senior official condemn this phenomenon. Anyone monitoring what is going on here shouldn’t be ...

Israel: Talking Peace, Waging War

Israel: Talking Peace, Waging War by Stephen Lendman No peace/peace talks convene next week in Washington. They're fake. They're subterfuge. They're meaningless. They never worked  before. They're rigged to fail now. Israeli and US orchestrators assure it. So do longtime Palestinian collaborators. They're Israeli enforcers. They're assigned that role. They're well compensated for doing so. Palestine's legitimate government won't participate. Previous articles asked how can legitimate peace talks proceed with one side excluded. Only in America. Only in Israel. Only under a scenario preordained to fail. At the same time, militarized occupation ...

Congress approves NSA lawbreaking

PressTV: On Wednesday the US Congress formally abolished itself - and Constitutional governance. That is the clear upshot of the House of Representatives’ 217-to-205 vote to reject any limits on the National Security Agency’s spy-on-everybody program. The NSA admits that it is keeping track of all communications metadata. That means the NSA is surveils every email you send and every phone call you make. It knows exactly who you emailed and when. It knows the date and time of every phone call, and the identity of whoever you spoke to. Does it also read the content of your emails and listen to your calls? “Only if we feel a need to,” says the NSA. In other words, the ...

John Oliver: Monopoly Game Removed 'Go to Jail' Option to Reflect America's Financial System
Post Date: 2013-07-26 17:54:23 by Horse

Hasbro's classic board game Monopoly has eliminated its jail space, freeing up time for young players more interested in what the company is calling "snack toys." Interestingly, Monopoly's doing away with "jail" can also be interpreted as a statement on the state of the American economy. As John Oliver hilariously pointed out last night on the Daily Show, "The game designed to teach children how capitalism works has removed the 'go to jail option' to reflect the financial system they're going to grow up in, presumably replacing it with a 'get bailed out by congress and then go directly to the cayman islands option.'" Nowadays, ...

Israeli/Palestinian Peace Talks: Let the Charade Begin

Israeli/Palestinian Peace Talks: Let the Charade Begin by Stephen Lendman According to Israeli Energy and Water Resources Minister Silvan Shalom, talks will begin next week in Washington. They'll start Tuesday. Imagine one side going into the enemy camp's heartland. Imagine its legitimate government denied participation. Imagine being represented by a longtime Israeli collaborator. Imagine a betrayal and failure scenario. It's certain. It's guaranteed. Palestinians deserve better. They have no say. Maybe next time. Not now. So-called talks assure conflict, not peace. They assure continued militarized occupation. They assure issues mattering most aren't resolved. ...

Anti-Semitic display at Roger Waters concert

Pig-shaped balloon with Star of David alongside fascist symbols released during British musician's concert in Belgium. ‘I really love his music,’ says Israeli viewer, 'but this time he crossed the line’ On Saturday night, Israelis were among those who attended a British musician and former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters’ concert in Belgium. Even as Waters is a known activist pushing for the boycott of Israel, Israelis were still amazed to see that the show included a blatantly anti-Semitic display. Toward its end, a black balloon in the shape of a wild pig was released to the sky, on it a Star of David, in the company of symbols of dictatorial organizations ...

Hotels boycott David Irving's Berlin plans

Notorious Holocaust-denier David Irving is planning to visit Berlin in September - but may have to sleep on a friend's a couch, and hold his meeting in a living-room, as hotels in the German capital have united to boycott him. Irving, who was banned from Germany altogether for ten years in 1993, says he will be in Berlin on September 10 for a meeting, promising to be in the "heart of Berlin" for attendees to pay €91 to hear him speak. But after Green Party manager Volker Beck got in touch with the German association of hotels (Dehoga), the group said they would not offer Irving a place to stay. "I trust that Irving will not be accommodated by our members," ...

Israel Terrorizes 5-Year-Old Palestinian Boy

Israel Terrorizes 5-Year-Old Palestinian Boy by Stephen Lendman Societies are perhaps best judged by how they treat prisoners, the elderly, their most disadvantaged and children. Israel fails on all counts. On July 9, perhaps it reached a new low. Seven IDF soldiers and an officer terrorized a 5-year old boy. They threatened him and his parents. They handcuffed and blindfolded his father. They handed the boy over to police. They wrongfully accused him of stone-throwing. Many other children face similar charges. Guilt by accusation is policy. Justice is a four-letter word. Fines, detention or longer-term imprisonment follow. More on the latest incident below. Defence for Children ...

Also , Can anyone tell me why exactly it was so important to induce labor on a full moon day? I forget the exact reasons. Remind me.

It’s been a bad month for Israel and a good month for justice – and there’s more to come. As has been widely reported, on July 19 the European Commission adopted new guidelines that prohibit European Union institutions from giving awards and grants to entities based in the Jewish colonies in the illegally occupied Palestinian territories. Three days later we learned from the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) that the German international supermarket chain Aldi, which has stores in 16 European countries plus the United States and Australia, has also begun boycotting all products from Israeli colonies. This was confirmed by a spokesperson for the retailer to the Amsterdam-based ...

More Evidence of Fake Israeli/Palestinian Peace Talks by Stephen Lendman There's plenty already. More builds a stronger case. Previous articles explained. Israeli/Palestinian peace talks were stillborn from inception. They began decades ago. This time's no different. Managed news misinformation substitutes for truth and full disclosure. Facts trump propaganda. Palestinians are on their own. Their legitimate government's excluded from talks. Imagine holding them with one side denied participation. Imagine a sham process. It's planned. It's baked in the cake. The outcome's predictable. Failure and betrayal define it. Israeli hardliners run things. They deplore ...

Israeli/Palestinian Peace: Illusion Substitutes for Reality

Israeli/Palestinian Peace: Illusion Substitutes for Reality by Stephen Lendman Haaretz editors, correspondents, and contributors know better. Maybe not. Maybe they don't history. Maybe they don't know it well enough. Maybe they forgot. Maybe they didn't check. Maybe they have other priorities. It shows in commentaries about announced Israeli/Palestinian peace talks. More on that below. In his original Animal Farm preface, Orwell observed how media contributors suppress uncomfortable truths. Self-censorship works the same way as what's imposed top down. "Unpopular ideas can be silenced, and inconvenient facts kept dark," said Orwell. "At any given moment ...

EU Shamelessly Declares Hezbollah a Terrorist Organization

EU Shamelessly Declares Hezbollah a Terrorist Organization by Stephen Lendman Hezbollah's no terrorist organization. It never was one. It's not one now. It's a legitimate political party. It maintains a military wing. It's for defense, not offense. EU nations know it. They bowed to pressure. They claimed otherwise. They disgraced themselves in the process. It didn't surprise. It's not the first time. It won't be the last. Rogue states operate that way. Hezbollah's one of two Lebanese parties representing Shia Muslims. It enjoys broad support. It's for good reason. More on that below. It's one of the main March 8 Alliance partners. It's ...

The Road to Nowhere - Kerry Mideast Journey

Here we go again, another round of Mideast peace talk kabuki. A process in which Washington, Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization hold intense talks over holding talks, a ritual as stylized as the traditional Japanese dance. In the end, it’s the same empty, cynical ritual, year after year. This past week, US Secretary of State John Kerry has been leading the dance in the latest attempt to restart peace talks between Israel and the Mahmoud Abbas’ PLO. As of this writing, the talks appear off. But they may be on again just as quickly. It depends on how much Washington offers its feuding clients, Israel and the PLO. Watching this annual charade is both painful and ...
