Gov. Scott Walker signs police custody deaths bill Post Date: 2014-04-25 14:43:56 by Lorie Meacham

For nearly 10 years, Michael Bell has waged a campaign for greater accountability when police use lethal force. He has spent more than $1 million on billboards, newspaper advertisements and a website, all of them asking some variation of this question: When police kill, should they judge themselves? Gov. Scott Walker on Wednesday answered with a resounding "no," signing into law a bill that requires outside investigation when people die in police custody the first of its kind in the nation. Bell, along with more than two dozen family members and supporters, attended the private signing ceremony in the governor's office. Bell carried a picture of his namesake son, who ...
For Progressives, “Thoughtcrime” is Worse than Mass Murder Post Date: 2014-04-25 13:31:12 by Ada

As any reasonably well-informed attorney knows, if a police officer follows a driver long enough he will witness a violation that supposedly justifies a traffic stop. Once this happens, the officer will build the stop by seeking a pretext to search the vehicle for evidence of violations that can lead to an arrest of the driver, or seizure of the vehicle and its contents. Cliven Bundy, among others, can testify that Regime-oriented journalism operates in a very similar fashion: Have a reporter from the New York Times shadow a 67- year-old Mormon rancher from southeastern Nevada long enough, and eventually the subject will say something that offends current sensibilities about ...
12 Numbers Which Prove That Americans Are Sick And Tired Of Politics As Usual Post Date: 2014-04-25 12:10:47 by Horse

I truly wish that things were different. When I was much younger, I was actively involved in politics and I enthusiastically campaigned for certain candidates. But then when they got to Washington D.C., they never did most of the things that they promised to do during their campaigns. I was quite bewildered by this. At the time, I concluded that we just needed to send even more "good politicians" to D.C. and then things would finally turn around. But things never did turn around. No matter which party had the upper hand, the same garbage continued to spew forth from Washington. Ultimately, like millions of other Americans, I have come to see that there is not really much of a ...
Shocking Russian Report Labels GMO Foods “Bio-Warfare Weapon” Post Date: 2014-04-25 03:53:39 by Tatarewicz

A shocking report prepared by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev privately explaining his decision today to postpone the introduction of certifying genetically-modified seeds (GMO) for another three years in the Russian Federation warns that these artificial organisms are now showing compelling evidence of their being related to bio-warfare agents due to their catastrophic effect upon human health rather than their being able to be consumed as food. According to this report, Medvedev was compelled to sign his September, 2013 decree introducing the certification of GMO seeds due to the complex process of Russia ascending into the ...

'MILITIA' GROUPS FEAR INFILTRATION BY FEDS AT BUNDY RANCH Post Date: 2014-04-23 16:25:08 by Ada

BUNKERVILLE, Nev. -- Militia groups are still surrounding the Bundy ranch days after the BLM ended its roundup of cattle. There is concern among some of them that they have been infiltrated by undercover federal agents. One man, among the self-described militia, says at least two federal agents went undercover to gather information and are preparing to make arrests. This latest information is causing increased tensions among those who say their goal is to protect rancher Cliven Bundy. Around 50 people remain at the ranch, many living in tents, and are prepared to stay for weeks, even months. The men say they took an oath to protect, but they are worried there is a rat in the ranks ...
A Simple Plan Post Date: 2014-04-23 12:50:25 by Horse

Here is a three-part plan to dismantle the police state and prevent martial law: First part: Neighborhood Watch; Second part: civilian police review boards; Third part: bring the military into the resistance. We know that the brutal American police state is operating on orders from above and that those order-givers must be eliminated. But the order-givers depend on traitors in the police and military to do their dirty work, and the former, the police, are the ones with whom we are confronted daily. The police have been deliberately militarized to transition us into actual martial law so that when its declared we wont be able to see the difference at first. This ...
Bunkerville Was Not the BLM's First Rustler's Roundup Post Date: 2014-04-23 08:37:24 by Ada

The raiders arrived at dawn. Contract cowboys backed by BLM rangers and other heavily armed law enforcement personnel fanned out across the desolate but alluring Nevada countryside to confiscate livestock owned by a family who under a controversial claim of sovereignty had allowed them to graze on public lands without paying fees to the federal government. They have been overgrazing and damaging the land for years, asserted BLM spokesman Mike Brown, who also pointed out that the family the last holdouts in the region had been fined millions of dollars for trespassing on public land. In defiance of federal judicial rulings and the ...

Waco: FBI Final Assault 21 Years Ago Today Post Date: 2014-04-22 07:44:51 by Ada

Twenty-one years ago today, the FBI assaulted and demolished the Branch Davidians home outside of Waco, Texas. That assault and the subsequent coverups helped redefine the relation of the federal government to the American people. Millions of citizens never looked at Washington the same afterwards. I reposted some of the articles I did in 1995 on Waco for Wall Street Journal and New Republic last year on this blog here. Following is the start of the chapter on Waco and Ruby Ridge from Public Policy Hooligan. Flummoxing the FBI As I was busting tail to finish Lost Rights, I straggled down the steps from my bedroom to my living room one April 1993 morning with the usual ...

What’s Next for the Bundys? Post Date: 2014-04-21 08:29:41 by Ada

The federal response will definitely come. It will likely be in three areas; two of which dont involve the Bundys specifically. First, a multi-faceted attack will be made on the Bundys; second, a broad-front regulatory response against other land users will be made for the purpose of retaliation against the whole group and as a deterrent; and third, new provocateur deployments will probably be made across the West into similar situations. The attack on the Bundys will be planned to be large enough so as to not fail since precedents are being considered by the feds. To give an historical example, the precedent of voluntary militias forming in the nineties as a constitutional concept ...
Snowden Email Provider (Lavabit) Remains in Contempt Post Date: 2014-04-20 17:48:59 by X-15

(CN) - The former email provider of National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden should be held in contempt for trying to keep its metadata out of the government's hands, the 4th Circuit ruled.
Snowden publicized his Lavabit email address, edsnowden@lavabit.com, while holed up at Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport over the summer before Russia gave him temporary asylum.
The former NSA contractor had gone into hiding after leaking documents about the government's secret surveillance of Americans' phone records.
When Snowden used the Lavabit email address to inform human rights activists that he would hold an airport press conference, federal agents served Lavabit with a ...
Germans smuggle cash out of Switzerland Post Date: 2014-04-20 12:14:37 by X-15

The number of Germans smuggling money out of Switzerland rose dramatically last year. Customs officers on the German-Swiss border said on Thursday they made a find in almost every third car they checked. The limit for bringing undeclared cash across an EU border is 10,000 (12,200 francs), but customs officers told German financial magazine Wirtschaftswoche that drivers regularly broke this limit in 2013. They found 573 million in illegal money, while in 2012 they found just 9.3 million. But smugglers were also finding more cunning ways to avoid being caught. More often we are finding cars with four or five people inside and each has around 9,800 or 9,90 ...

Scalia To Student: If Taxes Go Too High ‘Perhaps You Should Revolt’ Post Date: 2014-04-19 13:15:04 by X-15

Knoxville, Tenn. (CBS DC) Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia told a crowd of law school students that if taxes in the U.S. become too high then people should revolt. Speaking at the University of Tennessee College of Law on Tuesday, the longest-serving justice currently on the bench was asked by a student about the constitutionality of the income tax, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports. Scalia responded that the government has the right to implement the tax, but if it reaches a certain point, perhaps you should revolt. The justice was invited by the UT law school to present its annual Rose Lecture, and discussed events throughout his career ...
Sen Reid: Backers of Rancher Are ‘Domestic Terrorists’ Post Date: 2014-04-19 09:58:55 by Ada

Blasts Rancher as 'Thumbing His Nose at Authority' Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D NV) angrily condemned protesters who came out in support of Nevada cattle rancher Cliven Bundy today, dubbing them domestic terrorists for supporting Bundy. Reid insisted Bundy thumbs his nose at authority and doesnt recognize the US government, saying it was an issue the US would never let go. He held his biggest criticism back for the protesters, however. If there were ever an example of people who were domestic violent terrorist wannabes, these are the guys, Reid said of the protesters, saying they showed up with guns to protest the seizure ...

When I use a word, Humpty Dumpty said in a rather scornful tone, it means just what I choose it to mean neither more nor less. The question is, said Alice (remember Alice in Wonderland), whether you can make words mean different things. The question is, said Humpty Dumpty, who is to be master that is all. Perhaps the irrational situations that Alice encounters in wonderland, after having passed through the looking glass can give us some insight into the illegal, unconstitutional, immoral and, indeed, irrational things that the government is doing right now in Bunkerville, Nevada. Ranchers vs. Regulators: The Clark County Range War Post Date: 2014-04-18 06:20:29 by Ada

Bunkerville, Nevada War came to the Western Range that April, a conflict pitting the forces of order and respectability against a restive band of extremists accused of cheating the government of what it was due. The prohibitively stronger side consisted of regulatory agencies allied with powerful non-governmental organizations determined to control the land and expel small private interests who made productive use of it. The unyielding demands of the political elite were met with the unflinching defiance of rural ranchers, leading to talk of a range war. Eventually the ranchers exhausted the patience of the government, which deployed dozens of heavily armed Regulators ...
