Are Digital Troops Being Sent Into Our Digital Devices Like British Troops Were Sent Into American Colonists Homes? We have extensively documented that the U.S. government is trampling virtually every single Constitutional right set forth in the Bill of Rights. One of the few rights which we thought the government still respects is the the 3rd Amendment, which prohibits the government forcing people to house troops: No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law. But security expert Jacob Appelbaum notes that the NSA may be digitally violating the 3rd ...

Italy's Pitchfork Movement Slammed For "Delirious" Nazi-Like Comments Post Date: 2014-01-02 17:53:37 by Horse

Italy's anti-austerity Pitchfork movement, who described Italy as being "enslaved by wealthy Jewish bankers," has come under fire for "shamelessly recall[ing] a historical period characterised by death, violence and denial of the most elementary rights." The nation's Jewish community, writing in La Repubblica, said the Pitchfork leader's remarks demonstrate a "deeper sense of discomfort" fuelled by "the most violent and grimmest anti-Semitic stereotypes". Despite Italian stock and bond markets surging to multi-year highs, IB Times notes that mass demonstrations continue to rile the company's economy as Pitchfork followers demand the ...

2014 is upon us. For a person who graduated from Georgia Tech in 1961, a year in which the class ring showed the same date right side up or upside down, the 21st century was a science fiction concept associated with Stanley Kubricks 1968 film, 2001: A Space Odyssey. To us George Orwells 1984 seemed so far in the future we would never get there. Now it is 30 years in the past. Did we get there in Orwells sense? In terms of surveillance technology, we are far beyond Orwells imagination. In terms of the unaccountability of government, we exceptional and indispensable people now live a 1984 existence. In his alternative to the Queens Christmas speech, ...

We now know too well that unchecked surveillance authority can lead to dangerous overreach.Mossad, Bush planned, executed 9/11Over the last seven months, we have learned an incredible amount about the government's post-9/11 surveillance efforts. But there is a crucial gap in our basic understanding. We now know, for example, a good deal about how the government conducts surveillance that targets Americans, and about surveillance of foreigners that sweeps up Americans' international communications when the actual surveillance takes place on US soil (for example, from a Google facility in the United States). But we still know very little about Executive Order 12,333, ...

"I'm a good judge"
said by government employee and judge Gisele Pollack who, it seems, sentenced people to jail because of their drug use
while she, herself, was high on drugs. But, in her defense, "shes had some severe personal tragedy in her life". And that's why, it seems, she's being allowed to check herself into rehab instead of being thrown in jail.
because not a single poor person or non government employee who gets caught using drugs ever "had some severe personal tragedy in her life". I'm reminded of something I read earlier today: techdirt.com We've discussed the whole "high court/low court" ...

George Custer was better prepared for battle. "One thing [that] could be said about these fellows, they do not think it through. Gen. Custer had a battle plan for weeks compared to these fellows," Buchanan told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV. "Before you march into one of these battles, you've got to be prepared for the fact that, look, we may get bloodied so badly we're going ...

In a 2003 Rose Garden press conference, a reporter asked President Bush why he was sealing a congressional report incriminating the Saudi government when it comes to 9/11. Bush, without denying the description of the reports contents, argued he had to seal it so that those who are being investigated arent alerted. Only, the Saudi suspects named in the report werent really being investigated. Several months earlier, then-FBI Director Robert Mueller admitted as much during a closed hearing with the 9/11 Joint Inquiry staff on the Hill. Mueller sheepishly acknowledged the only people aggressively investigating the Saudi connections were ...

In 2010, a team of researchers at the University of California, Davis set out to test the reliability of drug- and bomb-sniffing dogs. The team assembled 18 police dogs and their handlers and gave them a routine task: go through a room and sniff out the drugs and explosives. But there was a twist. The room was clean. No drugs, no explosives. In order to pass the test, the handlers and their dogs had to go through the room and detect nothing. But of 144 runs, that happened only 21 times, for a failure rate of 85 percent.

I went in front of that camera with open eyes, knowing that the decision would cost me family and my home, and would risk my life. I was motivated by a belief that the citizens of the world deserve to understand the system in which they live. My ...
