After a federal raid in early April on Oaksterdam University, an education center located in downtown Oakland that trains students to work in the marijuana industry, founder Richard Lee has decided to step down as head of the institution. His successor will be former executive chancellor Dale Sky Jones, which will officially be announced on Wednesday morning. “It is safe to say that I will be taking over the lead position at Oaksterdam University to ensure that the institution will go on,” Jones told Oakland North in an interview. Oaksterdam University, the first cannabis college in the United States, was founded in 2007. Ever since visiting the cannabis college in Amsterdam, ...

Whistle-blower accuses FBI of blocking memoir

A lawyer for FBI whistle-blower Sibel Edmonds said Tuesday the bureau's prepublication review office has adopted overly expansive restrictions that are preventing Edmonds from publishing a book about her life at the FBI. Edmonds, once a contract linguist at the bureau, was fired a decade ago after complaining to FBI managers about shoddy wiretap translations and alleging that an interpreter with a relative at a foreign embassy might have compromised national security by blocking translations in some cases and notifying targets of FBI surveillance. Edmonds sued for unlawful termination, but Attorney General John Ashcroft stopped her lawsuit by invoking the state secrets privilege. He ...

First They Come for the Muslims

Tarek Mehanna, a U.S. citizen, was sentenced Thursday in Worcester, Mass., to 17½ years in prison. It was another of the tawdry show trials held against Muslim activists since 9/11 as a result of the government’s criminalization of what people say and believe. These trials, where secrecy rules permit federal lawyers to prosecute people on “evidence” the defendants are not allowed to examine, are the harbinger of a corporate totalitarian state in which any form of dissent can be declared illegal. What the government did to Mehanna, and what it has done to hundreds of other innocent Muslims in this country over the last decade, it will eventually do to the rest of us. ...

Afghan war whistleblower Daniel Davis: ‘I had to speak out – lives are at stake’

Soldier wrote detailed report claiming US generals ‘have so distorted the truth … the truth has become unrecognizable’ “I am – how do you say it? – persona non grata,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Daniel Davis, as he sat sipping a coffee and eating a chocolate sundae in a shopping mall, just a subway stop from the Pentagon. The career soldier is now a black sheep at the giant defence department building where he still works. The reason was his extraordinarily brave decision to accuse America’s military top brass of lying about the war in Afghanistan. When he went public in the New York Times, he was acclaimed as a hero for speaking out about a war that ...

Amid a raging political storm in China’s highest leadership circle, the plot thickens surrounding the alleged coup attempt by Bo Xilai and the powerful chief of internal security forces Zhou Yongkang. The two are bound to former Party head Jiang Zemin, and may have plotted to take down Hu and Wen as long as four years ago. Bo Xilai, the former Party chief of Chongqing was sacked on March 15 and removed from his posts on the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) Politburo and Central Committee on April 10 on suspicion of serious “disciplinary violations.” Bo’s powerful ally, Zhou Yongkang, the only member of the Politburo Standing Committee—the nine people governing ...

Bradley Manning Support Network member David House was returning to the country from a vacation last year when he was detained by agents from the Department of Homeland Security. They confiscated his laptop, camera and USB drive (all of which they kept for seven weeks), and questioned House about his political beliefs before sending him on his way. A judge recently ruled that House has grounds to sue the government for violating his Fourth Amendment rights against illegal search and seizure, a ruling that was hailed by the American Civil Liberties Union, which is representing House, as affirmation that “that the constitution is still alive at the U.S. border.” According to House ...

I will be silent no longer, because I am weary of the West's hypocrisy.” Gunter Grass The Swedish Academy in charge of selecting laureates for the Nobel Prize in Literature has rejected a call by an Israeli writers group to revoke the award of German Nobelist Gunter Grass. “Regarding the current debate over Gunter Grass’ poem “Was gesagt wered muss” (What must be said) I wish to point out that Mr. Grass received his Nobel Prize in 1999 on literary merit and merit alone - this applies to all recipients,” said Peter Englund, the permanent secretary of the Academy, on Tuesday. “There is and will be no discussion in the Swedish Academy on rescinding ...

First Man Arrested With Drone Evidence Vows to Fight Case

Court must decide if police are allowed to use drones to help make arrests. The tiny town of Lakota, N.D., is quickly becoming a key testing ground for the legality of the use of unmanned drones by law enforcement after one of its residents became the first American citizen to be arrested with the help of a Predator surveillance drone. The bizarre case started when six cows wandered onto Rodney Brossart's 3,000 acre farm. Brossart, an alleged anti-government "sovereignist," believed he should have been able to keep the cows, so he and two family members chased police off his land with high powered rifles. After a 16-hour standoff, the Grand Forks police department SWAT ...

Uploaded by gordong156 on Sep 4, 2010 What did the aide to President Bush have in mind when he said these words to a New York Times journalist in 2004? ''The aide said that guys like me were ''in what we call the reality-based community,'' which he defined as people who ''believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.'' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. ''That's not the way the world really works anymore,'' he continued. We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality - ...

Recently an international network of Green parties united in the so-called “Global Greens” have stated that global government should be formed sooner rather than later or else the world will be doomed. The core of the network’s activities are to promote “core values” such as “ecological wisdom”. Now the organization has added global government to their list. Recently Australian Green leader Senator Bob Brown openly called on the Global Green’s congress to vote on his idea of a ‘Global Government’ and ‘Global Parliament’ to be a part of the Global Greens Charter. After some initial mutterings along the lines of “Ok, global ...

Nudity warning at 4:36. Poster Comment:This is one analysis by the speaker, dallasgoldbug/wellaware1 of wellaware1.com, that I do think is accurate. Others I don't. Even if he was seldom right, these theatrics indicate many accomplices involved behind the scenes, as well as in the skits/drills being marketed as "news" -- on a vast scale of Psychological Assault Teamers. We know that there are foreign agents and subversives working to destroy America from the inside and that much of what the Media bombards us with is rubbish but we've been underestimating their scope. Not to say that the entire Occupy Movement is fake. Just that PsyOps are being run against us more often ...

(Photos.com) When Chongqing’s former top cop, Wang Lijun, fled for his life on Feb. 6 to the U.S. Consulate in Chengdu, and Chongqing’s Communist Party chief Bo Xilai pursued him with 70 police cars and armored vehicles, the first sign appeared of a power struggle breaking out at the highest levels of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The world has since been offered a glimpse at how the CCP’s leadership operates behind closed doors. The world has also been given the opportunity to understand how the massive and powerful CCP organ ...

Vatic Note: This was just great for several reasons..... one, its an American song written by an American composer and it's about one of the more interesting times, culturally, in American history , which is the 30's. The second reason is, there was a fabulous jewelry store in my home town, and the owners name was "Rydz" and the name of the store was "Puttin on the Rydz". She was a jewelry designer called "Designs by Rydz". Her whole theme was 1930's art deco motif, with the painted sky line of NY in her shop, as it was in the 30's. All her display cases were made by hand in the art deco motif and her jewelry was custom designed one of a kind ...

Imagine the glass is a remote control that he picks up and deletes their infomercialisms so as to fast forward to the American Republic's program. Maybe it's actually that easy. We don't have to declare independence from them. They've seceded. Onward to our real form of government, the Constitution. Anyone who doesn't want to be a Constitutionalist, has no fidelity to our Republic, should have to file for a Visa to be here. If Visa's are considered too harsh, I'm open to some suggestions but not much.

"I always thought police were nothing but good and were there to protect people," testifies Elizabeth Polak, a registered nurse from Phoenix. Her view of the State’s enforcement caste changed dramatically as a result of what she witnessed in Denver on the evening of March 25, 2008. Polak, returning to her apartment following her daily jog, saw a man and a woman having an unremarkable conversation near the entrance to the building. Two police officers appeared – a development always pregnant with trouble – and approached the couple. From a distance of about 100 feet, Polak saw the officers stride purposefully toward the man, who was later identified as James Moore. ...

Holy moly! Virgins can get pregnant if Arizona's retroactive conception provision turns into law

Arizona's new conception calculator. Virginity is no excuse. The forced-birther attacks on privacy and reproductive rights have brought new meaning to the word relentless. They attack on all fronts and when they lose, they don't back off. They innovate. One of the more recent efforts has been the outlawing of abortions after 20 weeks. Alabama, Indiana, Kansas, Oklahoma and Idaho all enacted laws in 2011 prohibiting abortion after 20 weeks of gestation based on the claim of "fetal pain." Nebraska adopted a similar law in 2010. Pro-choice advocates argue that these laws violate the Supreme Court's rulings that forbid states from placing undue burdens on women ...

Half of Irish Homeowners Join Boycott of New Property Tax

DUBLIN — Anti-austerity protesters are claiming victory after the government acknowledged that around 50 percent of Ireland’s estimated 1.6 million homeowners failed to pay a new, flat-rate $133 property tax by the March 31 deadline. “It is quite clear a mass boycott has really sent this government a significant message it didn’t want to hear,” Luke Flanagan, one of the parliamentary deputies leading the opposition to the new household charge, said in an interview on Monday. “When we started this campaign, even 25 percent support translating to several hundred thousand would have been phenomenal, but we estimate over a million people eligible to pay this tax ...

The Hutaree Case: Next, Time, They’ll Send in the Drones

Next time the Regime identifies a group of people as "domestic terrorists," the result might be a summary mass execution, or imprisonment in military custody, rather than a trial. This is one very plausible result of the dismissal of "seditious conspiracy" charges against members of Michigan’s Hutaree militia. Thanks to the legal environment created by the NDAA, the Feds won’t have to run the risks involved in submitting the next "domestic terrorism" case to the scrutiny of a court. Now that Attorney General Eric Holder has helpfully clarified that "due process" and "judicial process" aren’t the same thing, it’s entirely ...

DENVER – A Colorado woman was charged with two felonies after allegedly calling into a local radio station and bragging about how she posed as mentally unstable to get excused from jury duty, KDVR reports. An arrest warrant was issued for Susan Cole after she reportedly called Denver's "Dave Logan Show" and described how she dressed and acted oddly for jury duty in the hopes she would appear to have mental problems. "I put black eyebrows on, red lipstick on, left my hair in curlers and wore a tee shirt that read 'Ask Me About My Best Seller,' " Cole allegedly told the station, calling herself "Char from Denver."
