Jesus as Machiavellian Libertarian Post Date: 2010-12-13 12:44:28 by Turtle

Jesus as Machiavellian Libertarian As James Burnham pointed out in his book, The Machiavellians, Machiavelli and his followers were held in low regard for many years because they only described politics as they saw it, but did not prescribe any cures. In the sense of describing the problem, I would consider Jesus a Machiavellian, although in his case, he not only diagnosed, but offered a cure. These days, politically, what he offered might be considered libertarianism (depending on how you define it) or perhaps classical liberalism, which has nothing to do with the fascist/socialist perversion so prevalent today. What Machiavelli and his followers, such as Vilfredo Pareto, offered was an ...
"V" for Vigilante Post Date: 2010-12-13 06:40:23 by Ada

For months, Ada County Sheriff David Updyke had been investigating a secretive group of armed extremists living at the periphery of his southwest Idaho jurisdiction. When an informant provided him with a membership list of the armed band, Updyke wasted no time. He obtained arrest warrants, organized a large, heavily armed strike force, and made a beeline for the Payette River Valley. The warrants were a ruse. Updyke wasn't planning a mass arrest; he was plotting a massacre. His quarry was a group of about two dozen law-abiding citizens who had organized a private "Vigilance Committee" under the leadership of an equable local farmer named William J. McConnell. Some of the ...
WikiLeaks supporters' group abandons cyber attacks Post Date: 2010-12-12 18:55:23 by Original_Intent

(Reuters) - A loose grouping of cyber activists supporting WikiLeaks has abandoned its strategy of online attacks on organizations seen as hostile to the site in favor of spreading the leaked documents far and wide online. Internet activists operating under the name "Anonymous" temporarily brought down this week the websites of credit card giants MasterCard and Visa -- both of which had stopped processing donations to WikiLeaks. The United States, enraged and embarrassed by WikiLeaks' publication of thousands of confidential U.S. diplomatic cables, has leant on organizations from Amazon to online payments service PayPal -- which have now withdrawn services to WikiLeaks. In ...

Ron Paul, Fed Critic, to Lead Fed Oversight Panel Republican Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, one of the most outspoken critics of the Federal Reserve, will lead a congressional panel next year with oversight over the central bank. Paul, who wrote a book entitled "End the Fed," told Bloomberg Television in an interview this morning that he will "not really, not right up front" push for an end to the Fed. "But obviously that's the implication," he added. Paul said he will first focus on oversight. When Republicans take over the House next year, Paul will chair the House Domestic Monetary Policy Subcommittee, which is part of the Financial Services Committee. ...

The headlines are ablaze with news of the war no, not that war, or that war, or even this war Im talking about the cyberwar being waged against the enemies of WikiLeaks, not only the American and Swedish governments, but also the corporate collaborators who have done their best to drive WikiLeaks into the ground. A group of computer-savvy warriors for truth and justice, who call themselves Anonymous, have brought down the internet operations of MasterCard, , and FinancePost (the Swiss that abruptly terminated WikiLeaks account), as well the site of the Swedish prosecutors office and that of the odious feminist lawyer, ...

Skeptics who continue to assert that the economic plight of the United States has been overstated need not look further than the Pentagon to find out just how wrong they are. CNBC has learned that the Pentagon is currently playing out war games pertinent to an American economic meltdown. According to CNBC, The Pentagon is planning for real economic threats to America. CNBCs Business News analyst Eamon Javers explains: Ever since the crash of 2008, the Defense Intelligence establishment has really been paying a lot of attention to global markets and how they could serve as a threat to U.S. National security interests. At one upcoming seminar that were ...

The Political Persecution of a 7/7 Truther by Debra Siddons (for henrymakow.com) Several weeks ago, the Supreme Court of Ireland proved to everyone just how corrupt they are when they extradited A.J. Hill, also known to supporters as "Muad'Dib", for mailing DVDs of His Film, the "7/7 Ripple Effect" to a U.K. courthouse. A.J. Hill is now in prison in the U.K., awaiting trial there. He faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted of the ludicrous charge of "...intending to pervert the course of justice..." for telling the truth to prevent a miscarriage of justice. When did telling the truth become a crime? Life in prison for telling the truth? If ...

GMO Oranges, China, and the loss of another piece of America's agricultural base Post Date: 2010-12-11 14:21:17 by Original_Intent

By Barbara H. Peterson Farm Wars Americas oranges are now in the crosshairs of a genetic modification juggernaut that is sweeping this country and leaving in its wake a swath of destruction so wide and so utterly decimating that recovery seems a distant dream. The genetic modification of corn and soy has succeeded in infiltrating nearly every processed food in America, with wheat and alfalfa soon to be next. Now its oranges. But why? The orange is the second most profitable fruit crop in America after the grape. Valued at 1.5 billion in 2009, it accounts for 1/6 of all fruit and nut cash receipts. Because it requires a tropical or subtropical climate to flourish, commercial ...

Just a little more background on the hero Jullian Assange and Wikileaks
Wikileaks was started up in Dec. of 2006. Oddly enough, as a supposed leak site, a dissident site, it was given a great deal of immediate mainstream attention from the likes of the Washington Post, TIME magazine (a.k.a. "Slime Magazine" - my note), and even Cass Sunstein the now infamous Obama administration who wrote a paper on how to cognitively infiltrate dissident groups in order to steer them in a direction that is useful to the powers that be. The TIME magazine article is curious because it seems that right off the bat they were telling us how to interpret ...

Perry just wants to 60;diversify their food options,61; but apparently doesn57;t trust residents to do that for themselves and so wants to limit their options 52; presumably to higher-priced restaurants that may or may not open in their neighborhoods. WikiLeaks: Provoking Big Brother Post Date: 2010-12-10 13:23:29 by Amandil

WikiLeaks is exposing the way our government conducts "business." It is not a pretty process. Sometimes Uncle Sam limps along like a powerless giant, as when secretaries of State Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton vainly plead with China to stop facilitating the military rise of Iran. (But don't let that stop you from buying that made-in-China flat-screen TV for Christmas. Great price.) Sometimes Uncle Sam slimes around like the mob, as when shutting down opposition to the Copenhagen climate accord is his racket and bullying is his game. The rock-bottom worst of the revelations, however, shows Uncle Sam patronizing the American people, lying to us about fundamental issues ...
So WikiLeaks Is Evil For Releasing Documents . . . But DynCorp Gets A Pass For Pimping Young Boys To Afghan Cops? Post Date: 2010-12-10 12:41:48 by Original_Intent

Editor's Note: American taxpayer dollars hard at work -- something to remember around tax time. Tech Dirt One refrain we keep hearing against Wikileaks is that the cable releases aren't really "whistleblowing," because they're not really revealing anything. However, it seems like each day there's another big revelation of rather horrible things being done (and covered up) by the US government. The latest, pointed out by Boing Boing, involves a report from a cable that US-based private security contractor DynCorp, who was hired by the US to train Afghani police, was apparently supplying drugs and young boys for a sort of sex party. The details are horrifying. ...

An FBI whistleblower has alerted that supporting WikiLeaks founder, Julius Assange and subsequently calling for revolution due to government cover-ups are intended results of a counterintelligence reverse tactic not in best interest of the public. Bob Levin, FBI targeted whistleblower since 2000, knows sophisticated counterintelligence tactics designed to manipulate the unwitting. Levin has lectured Special Agents in Training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He has been requested to brief Counterterrorism Taskforce Agents relating to his skill sets and investigative techniques. My background was in codes and local, specialized state and federal law enforcement that ended ...

Way Cool Ready Reserve Ammo Post Date: 2010-12-10 01:22:56 by Original_Intent

I just learned about a new readiness product tonight listening to the third hour of the Jeff Rense program. Ready Reserve Foods is now beginning to offer Ready Reserve Ammo packed in airtight nitrogen flushed cans. As long as the seal is maintained the Ammo can set on the shelf virtually indefinitely in reserve ready for an emergency. Either as part of a bug-out bag or part of the stores for a retreat this item makes a lot of sense. It is one thing to have reserve supplies and another to be able to hold onto it in a social collapse. At this point in time they are offering two calibers .22 LR and .223 FMJ. Here are the pdf downloads of the labels. It is so new I could not yet find it on ...

Despite rumors that various splinter forces within the Republican party are attempting to block Ron Paul's fateful chairmanship of the Monetary Policy Subcommittee, we now have confirmation that the only sane politician left will now be Ben Bernanke's direct nemesis during any and all future Congressional spectacles starring the printing unchallenged one. And with US debt creeping ever closer to the debt ceiling, coupled with the dollar for dollar monetization of the US deficit, such spectacles will soon be plenty. Fast forward to 3:30 in the clip for the announcement.
CYBERWAR: Now Hackers Have Taken Down Mastercard.com As Revenge For Julian Assange Post Date: 2010-12-08 08:55:29 by Ada

It looks like the group that successfully took down the website of Julian Assange's Swiss Bank have claimed another victim. Mastercard.com is down, and @Anon_operation just tweeted that it's due to a DDOS attack. Of course, Mastercard is one of the payment services that cut off the ability to donate to Wikileaks. Update: We're not exactly sure what this means, but this is a Reuters flash: Mastercard says working to suspend acceptance of mastercards on WikiLeaks until situation resolved.
