National 'Take Back Day' urges surrender of unneeded prescription drugs (to the Drug Enforcement Administration) Post Date: 2010-09-23 15:30:40 by hondo68

With the abuse of prescription drugs continuing to rise, the Drug Enforcement Administration is for the first time asking people nationwide to turn in their expired, unused and unwanted prescription medicines at more than 4,000 locations on Saturday. The first national "Take Back Day" aims to collect powerful drugs that are beneficial to patients, but that could easily fall into the wrong hands if left to languish in homes. People will be able to turn in pills, powders and other solid medicines anonymously and without fear of prosecution; authorities will then safely destroy the medications by incinerating them. A focus of the effort is to get commonly abused drugs out of ...

The value of Americans being able to circumvent security measures is clear for the militant groups, and the value of scaring ...

I ran into this series a couple of days ago and it is a fascinating and well written series. It is both interesting from a modern history perspective, and from the point of view of how our society is manipulated and controlled. Just to set it up. For those not already in the know Laurel Canyon, in LA, has long been a home to movie stars, writers, and other famous figures. In the 60's it became THE address for many Rock Stars, as well as Charles Manson. It has been the scene of death, debauchery, drug use, and creativity. For a number of years now I have been hearing, and reading, about how our pop music and surrounding culture has been a tool of control and transformation of the ...

Farmer, consumer outcry helping to stop passage of draconian 'food safety' bill (NaturalNews) Advocates of Senate Bill 510 (S.510) -- also known as the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act -- are lamenting the delayed passage of the sweeping legislation that many say threatens American food freedom. According to reports, opposition from the public, local farmers and some members of Congress could delay a vote on the bill until November -- and may even kill it completely. According to a recent New York Times article in obvious favor of the legislation, the Senate calendar is filled with a multitude of other bills that need to be voted on before members leave for the campaign trail in ...
Where Eagles Double-Dog Dare Post Date: 2010-09-21 06:21:07 by Ada

Were getting ready to sell $60 billion worth of weapons to Saudi Arabia, largely in the form of F-15 Eagle fighter jets. In other news, were getting ready to sell all of our old elephant guns to the Eskimos. The Eskimos will probably get more use out of the elephant guns than the Saudis will get out of the F-15s. You can shoot polar bears with elephant guns. An F-15 Eagle is made to shoot down other airplanes and darn little else. Oh, sure, they made a handful of the two-seat Strike Eagle version that was made to compete with the Navys all-weather A-6 Intruder tactical bomber. But the Intruder and Strike Eagle were designed for nape-of-the-earth radar-evading missions, ...
A World of Man-Hating Dykes Post Date: 2010-09-20 10:42:23 by Turtle

Lets do a thought experiment and imagine a world of nothing but feminists. Since feminism was mostly founded by man-hating lesbians, lets make that world one of man-hating dykes, ugly masculine ones with crew cuts and tattoos. The science fiction writer Norman Spinrad, back in 1979, wrote a satire, "A World Between," about what he called the Pink and Blue War, a war between the Femocrats and the Transcendental Scientists. In Spinrads world, the Femocrats were not surprisingly lesbians who kept a few men around, apparently in cages, for breeding purposes. They wanted to take over every world and impose their lifestyle. For that matter, so do the male ...

State's homeland security chief goes in hiding Ex-army colonel has nothing to say on anti-terror pact Friday, September 17, 2010 By Tom Barnes, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette HARRISBURG -- The former Special Forces colonel who has headed the state Office of Homeland Security for four years and who now finds himself at the center of a firestorm over an anti-terrorism contract is missing in action. Ed Rendell denounced a $103,000 no-bid contract that Mr. Powers had given to the Institute of Terrorism Research and Response, which has offices in Philadelphia and Israel. Mr. Powers, who makes $106,602 a year, hasn't ...

The Unanswered Questions Of 9-11 By Kourosh Ziabari 9-15-10 It's not unjustifiable or irrational to argue that the 9/11 attacks were designed and intended to rescue Israel from a political dissolution which was seen by many thinkers as its ultimate destiny, and to promote the cordial coalition of Bush and Bin Laden families. It's no wonder that 9 years after the attacks on New York's Twin Towers and Pentagon, Osama Bin Laden, who is introduced as an Islamic fundamentalist and terrorist that masterminded and directed the 9/11 attacks, hasn't been arrested or killed yet. For those who are familiar with the world of journalism, it's comprehensible that Osama Bin Laden ...

Project Censored, a media research project operating out of Sonoma State University in California has spent several years looking at media accountability and how the freedom of the press aids democracy: At Project Censored, we examine the coverage of news and information important to the maintenance of a healthy and functioning democracy. We define Modern Censorship as the subtle yet constant and sophisticated manipulation of reality in our mass media outlets. On a daily basis, censorship refers to the intentional non-inclusion of a news story or piece of a news story based on anything other than a desire to tell the truth. Such manipulation can take the form of political ...

As readers of this web page know, Thilo Sarrazin, a 65-year-old member of the governing board of the German central bank, has sparked outrage in his country and throughout Europe with his new book, Germany Does Away With Itself. Just as they would in the United States, the media in Germany have dismissed the book as anti-Islamic hate without bothering to consider its arguments. There is one German reviewer, however, Volkmar Weiss, who has not only taken the time to study Mr. Sarrazins arguments but who fully understands and agrees with them. Dr. Weiss originally published his review on the German Amazon website, where the book is currently the number-one seller. Amazon ...

An open letter to my dear friend, Tim O'Brien, of the Small Government Alliance Dear Tim, You know I love you. But I was taken aback, and quite disturbed, by what I read in your July 24, "Soapbox" article titled, 'Constitutional Crisis- Where liberty lives and dies. While a typically great Tim O'Brien piece in most every respect, things said about the income tax were unfortunately incorrect. The errors have at least two ill effects: getting this important subject wrong makes getting other important subjects right impossible by way of the Garbage In, Garbage Out (GIGO) effect (as I shall explain presently); and it is the persistent proliferation of ...

Ending Tyranny Without Violence by Murray N. Rothbard This essay was first published under the title of The Political Thought of Étienne de La Boétie. Étienne de La Boétie[1] has been best remembered as the great and close friend of the eminent essayist Michel de Montaigne, in one of history's most notable friendships. But he would be better remembered, as some historians have come to recognize, as one of the seminal political philosophers, not only as a founder of modern political philosophy in France but also for the timeless relevance of many of his theoretical insights. Étienne de La Boétie was born in Sarlat, in the ...

US ‘Non-Combat’ Mission in Iraq Looking an Awful Lot Like Combat Post Date: 2010-09-14 06:20:11 by Ada

Heavily Armed US Troops Clash With Insurgents US troops, which officials are forever reminding us are in Iraq purely in a non-combat role, engaged in heavy combat again yesterday, underscoring the realities of a war that is still going on in everything but name. The exact details of the fighting were kept somewhat quiet yesterday, but today reports came out of heavily armed US troops, wielding machine guns and firing mortars, attacking insurgents who responded by throwing hand grenades. One US soldier was wounded. Spokesmen referred to this as assisting and advising but in any sane world it would have another name: combat. The details of the official explanation, peppered ...

Accountant: (getting out of car) What the heck is this? (He looks down and counts all the holes in him.) You idiots just shot me 54 times! I'm not going to survive this, you know! See the horn-rimmed glasses, the pocket protector and the tidy little mustache? ...
Head of the English Defense League deported from U.S. as soon as he arrives Post Date: 2010-09-10 22:55:34 by X-15

The British and U.S. governments worked together yesterday to keep an anti-jihad activist, Tommy Robinson, the leader of the English Defense League, from entering the U.S. And they did so in a sneaky and demeaning way, causing Robinson great inconvenience, apparently for the sake of causing him great inconvenience, by letting him fly all the way to America before instantly hustling him back to Britain. Not only has Robinson been robbed of the opportunity to attend the 9/11 rally tomorrow and meet with American anti-jihadists, but I've been deprived of the chance to meet Robinson, as I was going to have dinner with him this evening as arranged by a mutual associate. When we add the ...
