In response to the ATF’s determined march toward banning the M855 round for law-abiding citizens, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) has introduced legislation to eliminate the ATF altogether. Sensenbrenner’s bill is titled the ATF Elimination Act. According to The Hill, Sensenbrenner says the ATF as a “scandal-ridden” agency “that lacks a clear mission.” He describes it as a “largely duplicative agency” and suggests the agency’s role on “guns, explosives, and violent crime” could be carried out the FBI. In one month Chicago elects a mayor. Neither the mayor nor his opponent in the April 7th runoff election have yet bothered to take a position on the existence of the Chicago Police Department’s 3 torture facilities. These are ‘Black Sites’ where the cops are allowed to take people they kidnapped, to hold them without charges and to torture them until they confess to felonies that involve serious jail time.
