Connecticut scrambles for amnesty plan after realizing that citizens are refusing to register their “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines

There’s a scene at the end of the animated film Despicable Me after the villain Vector’s master plan has gone horribly awry, and he finds himself on the surface of the Moon, with the Earth in the background. Realizing his predicament, he utters a short succinct phrase. Governor Dannel Malloy and the government of the state of Connecticut are having their own “Oh, poop” moment, now that they’ve tallied the number of citizens who have registered their “assault weapons” and “high capacity magazines” required by the state’s unconstitutional gun laws, compared that to the estimated number of applicable weapons and magazines in the state, and ...

Prof corrects minority students’ capitalization, is accused of racism

Racial tensions are inflamed at the University of California at Los Angeles following several incidents — most notably, one where a professor corrected the grammar, punctuation and capitalization in minority students’ assignments. The act of correcting a black student was “micro-aggression,” according to the members of the student group “Call 2 Action: Graduate Students of Color,” which launched a sit-in during a subsequent meeting of the class. “A hostile campus climate has been the norm for Students of Color in this class throughout the quarter as our epistemological and methodological commitments have been repeatedly questioned by our classmates and ...

A Step Back Toward Peace Keeping

I grew up in an America with cops in the background. Most people – being not criminals – had almost no interaction with them and when they did it was generally civil and far more important, almost always on equal terms – with the cop respectful of the citizen. peacekeep 1 It goes without saying that’s all gone now. Cops are a menacing omnipresence – and when they deal with us, it is usually order barking Command Voice style. You do not discuss, much less dispute. You Submit and Obey. Or else. The least recalcitrance – merely to question anything – is often sufficient to bring down a Fallujah-style escalation. People are routinely dragged out of their ...

19 Numbers Which Prove That Americans Are Angrier And More Frustrated Than Ever

The following statistics come from various surveys and opinion polls that have been conducted recently. Without a doubt, these numbers show that Americans are angrier and more frustrated than ever… #1 65 percent of Americans are dissatisfied “with the U.S. system of government and its effectiveness”. That is the highest level of dissatisfaction that Gallup has ever recorded. #2 66 percent of Americans are dissatisfied “with the size and power of federal government”. #3 70 percent of Americans do not have confidence that the government will “make progress on the important problems and issues facing the country in 2014.” #4 Only 8 percent of Americans ...

American nationalists look to purge ‘crony capitalism’ The United States is going the way of Russia—but not in the way conservatives would have you think. While conservatives are busy fighting unemployment benefits for middle-class Americans out of work in the midst of a lagging economy, they ignore the fact that powerful plutocrats—money lords, media barons and other capitalist insiders—are increasing their stranglehold on the American system. Conservatives say this is “free enterprise” and “the American way,” but traditional populists, in the spirit of Thomas Jefferson, say otherwise. In fact, what’s happening in America recalls what ...

120-year old city without government functions just fine

MAX, NEBRASKA (INTELLIHUB) — Likely the U.S. government fears the unincorporated city of Max in Dundy County because it operates free of government. The road signs read, “travel at your own risk”. In fact, the city operates with no police department or paved roads–and it has for years. The city even has its own park and is said to be a wonderful community which roots go back about 120-years. So how did Max grow with no government? Quite simply put, they started a women’s club which raises monies for various things the city requires. YouTuber “donze52" explains: Click for Full Text!

French comic Dieudonne questioned for 'assaulting' bailiff

Controversial French comedian Dieudonne has been questioned by police after a bailiff alleged he was assaulted upon turning up at his home, the comic's lawyer told AFP Wednesday. Bailiffs turned up at the comedian's home in central France on Monday night to demand payment of several fines, and attempted to enter by climbing over a fence, the lawyer said. "Dieudonne's partner and their security staff asked them to leave," he said. According to sources close to the investigation, one of the bailiffs says he was assaulted by Dieudonne, and targeted with rubber bullets. A search of the house later turned up a bullet-launching device, investigators said. His girlfriend ...

Washington: The Illusion of Government

The Media: The Illusion of Coverage In a paroxysm of patriotic musing, I reflected that Washington is an insular, incestuous, inward-looking city, chiefly interested in itself, so politically inbred as to be in danger of hemophilia, out of touch with reality, having remarkably little understanding of or interest in the rest of the country or the world. Isnl’t this wonderful? Inbreeding? By comparison with the Yankee Capital, West Virginians are on the outer limits of hybrid vigor. We had Bush I, a mediocrity but no worse, and later Bush II, in whom mediocrity would have been a welcome astonishment. We had Clinton the First, Bill, who was at least intelligent, then almost had Clinton ...

The Verdict: Murder as an Official Entitlement

“Among other lessons we’ve learned in this trial,” pontificated Judge William Froeberg just before a jury acquitted Kelly Thomas’s killers, “is that violence begets violence.” This statement was either a conscious lie, or a symptom of incurable ideological blindness. The murderous violence directed at Kelly Thomas by a half-dozen police officers was unilateral, unprovoked, and utterly unjustified. It wasn’t begotten by anything Thomas had done, or failed to do. It was purely a manifestation of the criminal impulses that are nurtured within those who belong to the State’s punitive caste – and then directed without stint or limit against those ...

A month ago I dropped my mobile phone and before I could pick it up a badger carried it off in his mouth and swallowed it, I thought that was the end of it, but that was not the case. Today the NSA contacted me and asked about my movements, they want to know why I spend most nights creeping around peoples back gardens and spend my days in an underground hideout.

A rebellion is brewing south of the border As the US continues and expands its worldwide "war on terror," extending its militarized tentacles into Africa as well as the Middle East, a festering threat looms closer to home: the ungluing of Mexico and its rapid descent into the status of a failed state. How Washington responds may determine not only the fate of our southern neighbor, but also our own. Mexico is undergoing a crisis of authority – a direct challenge to its ability to maintain a monopoly on the use of force within its borders – and this is coming from two directions. The first challengers are the drug cartels: these go under a variety of names, from the ...

ANALYSIS Contempt of cop, America's defiance revolution

A 21-year-old motorist, knowing his legal rights, refuses to get out of his car or follow a policeman's orders unless he is told he is being formally detained. (YouTube) Neil Macdonald is the senior Washington correspondent for CBC News, which he joined in 1988 following 12 years in newspapers. Before taking up this post in 2003, Macdonald reported from the Middle East for five years. He speaks English and French fluently, and some Arabic. Increasingly, and openly, ordinary Americans are committing a legal act that some police nonetheless regard as among the most heinous of all offences: it's called contempt of cop. It's otherwise known as asserting your constitutional ...

Why I Cannot Support Concealed Carry Weapons Permits (And Why You Shouldn’t Either!)

John Filippidis is a Concealed and Carry Weapons permit holder, which means he can carry his firearm on his person or in his car legally. He followed all applicable laws in the State of Florida to obtain his permit, and has been a lawful citizen since being “given the right” to retain a firearm when in public. Recently he was driving through the State of Maryland on a family vacation when he was stopped, for no apparent reason, by a law enforcement officer who had trailed his car for at least ten minutes. According to his family, this is how the stop went down: The officer was from the Transportation Authority Police. He asked Filippidis for his license and registration. Around ...

The Rejection Of Saddam Hussein's Dinars Can Explain The Most Interesting Aspect Of Bitcoin

The Most Interesting Aspect of Bitcoin as Money…. Bitcoin and the digital currency craze appears to be gaining more and more traction. But we have to ask ourselves why this is occurring? After all, Bitcoin isn’t backed by men with guns, the government’s ability to tax, the banking system’s depth or really anything. Bitcoin is the purest form of a decentralized medium of exchange that presently exists. But what makes Bitcoin so interesting is why anyone cares about it at all. And the reason for this is grounded in some work by a great economist at UC Berkeley named Hal Varian. Hal Varian has spent a good deal of time trying to figure out why a fiat money has any value ...

Americans Still See Government As Their Biggest Problem

While the "economy in general" and "jobs" remain a close second (with the latter rising rapidly despite a plunging - and entirely useless - unemployment rate), Americans polled by Gallup still see the number 1 problem facing the US is "dissatisfation with government; poor leadership and abuse of power." Compared with a year ago, mentions of government are up slightly; but mentions of healthcare, on the other hand, have quadrupled -- from 4% in January 2013 to 16% today! As Gallup sums up: The issues that concern Americans at the start of 2014, and as Obama prepares to deliver the second State of the Union address of his second term, are similar to those ...

I hear people making all sorts of predictions of what the powers that be (TPTB) will allow or not allow. Honestly, they treat this group as though they are omnipotent. Just to be clear, the term, “powers that be” generally refers to the partnership between central banking cartels, mega-corps, and governments (including military, spy agencies, and secret police). I will use it in that way also. And while these groups have tremendous power in certain areas, they are not gods. In fact, they are, as individuals, not much more capable than the average person. Many of them, particularly at the higher levels, hold their positions by birth and not necessarily (or usually) for any ...

It is with great worry and personal distress that I bring to the notice of the readers of TUT the news that our dear friend Mike Piper has been hospitalized following what cardiologists have said was a ‘massive’ heart attack. It occurred last week in the middle of the night and lasted for several days afterwards. At this point he is undergoing a battery of tests to determine the extent of the damage done to his heart. I spoke with him just prior to his being taken to the emergency room yesterday and have just finished speaking to him now. He is obviously very worn out but as of this moment is in the best place he can possibly be. Poster Comment:Piper wrote Final Judgement about ...

“[E]verywhere, “time is winding up,” in the words of one of our spirituals, “corruption in the land, people take a stand, time is winding up.”—Martin Luther King Jr. We now live in a two-tiered system of governance. There are two sets of laws: one set for the government and its corporate allies, and another set for you and me. The laws which apply to the majority of the population allow the government to do things like sending SWAT teams crashing through your door in the middle of the night, rectally probing you during a roadside stop, or listening in on your phone calls and reading all of your email messages, confiscating your property, or indefinitely ...
