Knife-wielding burglar bruised and battered by 72-year-old retired boxer 8/09/13 | by Brent McCluskey 23-year-old Gregory McCalium, bit off more than he could chew when he threatened 72-year-old retired boxer, Frank Corti. When McCalium forced his way into Corti’s house, he had no idea what he was getting himself into. Corti may be advanced in age, but he still means business. Corti, who lives in Botley, Oxford, served with the Royal Engineers in North Africa from 1956-58 and had years of boxing experience, McCalium only had half a plan and a knife. McCalium lunged with his blade, but Corti was quick. He dodged and punched the intruder in the face, giving him a black eye and a ...

This would seem to embody the USDA’s advisory, “Know your farmer, know your food,” right? Not exactly. For the USDA and its sister food regulator, the FDA, there’s a problem: many of the farmers are distributing the food via private contracts like herd shares and leasing arrangements, which fall outside the regulatory system of state and local retail licenses and inspections that govern public food sales. In response, federal and state regulators are seeking legal sanctions against farmers in Maine, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and California, among others. These sanctions include injunctions, fines, and even prison sentences. Food sold by unlicensed and ...

Submitted by Mike Krieger of Liberty Blitzkrieg blog, Are we going to see more leaks? Yes. A lot [of Anonymous members] are mid- to high-rank NCOs. They are well-respected, have connections, and overly large security clearances. A lot of people who are part of the [Anonymous] culture are just dying at this point for something to come across their table that isn’t already out there. It is so easy to leak information that if you want to, you can do it. - From Buzzfeed’s recent article Anonymous’ Secret Presence In The U.S. Army It was only after watching the excellent documentary We Are Legion: The Story of Anonymous, that I really understood the history of the ...

The Police State Mindset in Our Public Schools

Once upon a time in America, parents breathed a sigh of relief when their kids went back to school after a summer’s hiatus, content in the knowledge that for a good portion of the day their kids would be gainfully occupied, out of harm’s way and out of trouble. Those were the good old days, before school shootings became a part of our national lexicon and schools, aiming for greater security, transformed themselves into quasi-prisons, complete with surveillance cameras, metal detectors, police patrols, zero tolerance policies, lock downs, drug sniffing dogs and strip searches. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, instead of making the schools safer, we simply managed to make ...

A Canadian rifle maker has successfully fired a 3D-printed rifle, based on firearms designer Cody Wilson's work on a homemade handgun crafted from thermoplastics. Mashable.com reports that "Matthew" has successfully fired 14 rounds from a .22 rifle created from a 3D printer. The rifle represents Matthew's second prototype and is called Grizzly 2.0. The barrel of the first prototype cracked after firing just one round, so he adjusted the barrel's thickness and fired 14 rounds from the next model before experiencing any problems. The Grizzly 2.0 is a single shot rifle. The user reloads it after each shot by taking off the barrel, clearing it of the spent shell casing, ...

Despite weeks of browbeating about the Stand Your Ground law, Florida lawmakers don’t seem to be backing down. Gov. Rick Scott has even called for an apology from the Rev. Jesse Jackson following the controversial national figure’s visit to Tallahassee on Tuesday, July 30. Scott called Jackson’s comments “reckless,” “divisive” and said he owes every Floridian an apology. He has also said he won’t call a special legislative session to address objections to Stand Your Ground. Jackson’s trip here was meant to show his support for those protesting the self-defense law. Although Stand Your Ground wasn’t used in the second-degree murder trial ...

Are Police in America Now a Military, Occupying Force?

Despite the steady hue and cry by government agencies about the need for more police, more sophisticated weaponry, and the difficulties of preserving the peace and maintaining security in our modern age, the reality is far different. Indeed, violent crime in America has been on a steady decline, and if current trends continue, Americans will finish the year 2013 experiencing the lowest murder rate in over a century. Despite this clear referendum on the fact that communities would be better served by smaller, demilitarized police forces, police agencies throughout the country are dramatically increasing in size and scope. Some of the nation’s larger cities boast police forces the size ...

How to end a century of lies and mass mind manipulation ushered in by one man America has been plagued by a powerful mind control tactic which was suggested, experimented with, and fully implemented over a century ago by a man named Edward Bernays. The time has come for Americans to come to grips with the content and theories that Bernays used to influence American history. It’s time to call out the legacy of deceit and manipulation that this man brought to American history; by doing this, only then can America begin to heal from the web of psychological damage inflicted on a nation. This tactic of psychological manipulation, control and deceit has spawned into a world-wide media ...

As protests against Monsanto and other biotech giants mount, we can be sure they will fight back with the resiliency of deep pockets. Ready to rebuff any scientific evidence that has proven GMOs are deadly toxic, harm the environment, and tarnish the world food supply, a group of biotech giants have launched an online forum to stand up against activists who are making the evil face of GMO famous. The website is backed by US biotech bullies: Monsanto, DuPont and Dow AgroSciences, according to Reuters. Supposedly, the website, www.GMOAnswers.com aims at ‘answering your questions about GMOs no matter what they are’ and to ‘open the lines of communication and ...

Police Arrest Man For Not Following Orders… While He Is Having A Stroke Last year Allen Daniel Hicks violently drove his car off the road in Tampa, Florida. When officers showed up on the scene, Hicks did not follow their orders to get out of his car. This resulted in police immediately booking the man into jail. Officers failed, however, to question Hick’s strange behavior during the incident. Despite rambling incoherent nonsense and dragging his left leg, police did not even bother ordering a medical check for Hicks before locking him up. Well, it turns out that Hicks was having a severe ischemic stroke. After a full day in jail, Hicks lay on the floor of his cell, unable ...
